Invisibility

Invisibility is the state of an object that cannot be seen. An object in this state is said to be invisible (literally, "not visible"). The term is often used in fantasy/science fiction, where objects cannot be seen by magical or technological means; however, its effects can also be demonstrated in the real world, particularly in physics and perceptual psychology classes.

Since objects can be seen by light in the visible spectrum from a source reflecting off their surfaces and hitting the viewer's eye, the most natural form of invisibility (whether real or fictional) is an object that neither reflects nor absorbs light (that is, it allows light to pass through it). This is known as transparency, and is seen in many naturally occurring materials (although no naturally occurring material is 100% transparent).

Invisibility perception depends on several optical and visual factors. For example, invisibility depends on the eyes of the observer and/or the instruments used. Thus an object can be classified as "invisible to" a person, animal, instrument, etc. In research on sensorial perception it has been shown that invisibility is perceived in cycles.

Invisible (Tilt song)

"Invisible" is a song by English electronic music group Tilt, which reached the UK top 20 charts when released in 1999. The song was co-written by Dominique Atkins, from Grace fame, who also provided the vocals.

"Invisible" is the debut single by American recording artist Skylar Grey. It was officially first released on iTunes on August 9, 2011. She performed the track along with various other songs on her upcoming studio album at The Glass House on July 31, 2011, and the song earned placement in the official trailer for the Madonna-directed film W./E..

Composition

Grey comments on her writing process for "Invisible" by saying "Before I started writing this album, I felt like I had lost control of my life and didn't know who I was anymore. I needed to ground myself so I decided to spend some time in solitude, and in the process discovered my inner super hero. The album tells that story starting with 'Invisible', which is how I used to feel."

Critical reception

Popcrush rated the song a four out of five stars and commented positively on the song's emotion and feel by saying "her song is an ode to feeling alone in a crowded room and feeling like no one can see the real you. The song addresses the notion of image, and the battle between the real you vs. the you that people see. It’s weighty subject matter encased in a pop song, with the lyrics surrounded by beats are light and airy."Billboard positively received the track and called it a "gorgeous, vulnerable opening statement that stretches her talent for crafting quick melodies over a fully formed pop track. "Invisible" sheds light on Skylar's own compelling persona."

Veil (album)

Veil is the fifth of six albums by Band of Susans, released in 1993. The last track, a remix of a song completely different from the Blue Öyster Cult song "The Red and the Black", is not listed on copies of the album.

Sex and Love

Sex and Love is the tenth studio album by Spanish recording artist Enrique Iglesias. It was released on 14 March 2014 by Republic Records. The album's three Spanish singles: "Loco", "El Perdedor" and "Bailando" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. The album features guest vocals from Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minogue, Descemer Bueno, Pitbull, Flo Rida, Romeo Santos, Marco Antonio Solís, Yandel, Gente de Zona, Luan Santana and India Martínez.

Background

In an interview Enrique explained the reason behind titling his new album as Sex and Love. He said: "It's one of the first things I thought about when I listened to the whole body of work. I think it's something we can all relate to no matter what religion no matter what personality, no matter what colour we can all relate to it."

Composition

Speaking about his album Enrique described his album as fun and obviously sexual, while some of it is more introspective and nostalgic. He then went on to say: "The words go together, but they can be separate and inspire different feelings and thoughts. It's all-encompassing. When you turn on the radio, what are the themes that everybody relates to? We all relate to sex and love. That's why when you hear music – 90% of the time – it derives from those two feelings."

Integral yoga

Integral yoga, sometimes also called supramental yoga, is the yoga-based philosophy and practice of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother (Mirra Alfassa). Central to Integral yoga is the idea that Spirit manifests itself in a process of involution, meanwhile forgetting its origins. According to Sri Aurobindo, the current status of human evolution is an intermediate stage in the evolution of being, which is on its way to the unfolding of the spirit, and the self-revelation of divinity in all things. Yoga is a rapid and concentrated evolution of being, which can take effect in one life-time, while unassisted natural evolution would take many centuries or many births. Aurobindo suggests a grand program called sapta chatushtaya (seven quadrates) to aid this evolution.
