CISF or the Central Industrial Security Force, one of the five Central Reserve Police Forces of India.
The CISF came into existence in 1969 with a modest beginning, having three battalions, to provide integrated security cover to Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) which, in those years, occupied commanding heights in the Indian economy. In a span of four decades, the force has grown several folds to reach1,42,000 personell… providing security cover to 322 Government and Public Sector Undertakings including 59 major and international airports of India.
CISF has four decades of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, reviewing and improving security systems of a myriad sectors including Atomic Energy, Airports, Heritage buildings, metro railways etc. They are committed to providing quality consultancy services in fields of security and fire protection through professional and qualified personnel.
The CISF is the only Central Armed Police Force having a full-fledged Fire Service Wing, inducted at Fertilizer And Chemicals Travancore (FACT), Cochin on 16.04.1970 with a sanctioned strength of 56 personnel. CISF Fire Service Wing is the largest professional, well-trained and equipped fire fighting force in the country, which is providing fire prevention and fire protection to the highly sensitive, vulnerable and hazardous units.
In 2015, CISF Fire Wing attended to a total of 4,043 fire-related calls including 17 major fire incidents and saved property worth over Rs. 219 Crore Rupees.
This year CISF completes 47 years and is all set to celebrate its 47th Raising Day on 10th of March at the 5th Reserve Battalion in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad.
