PSA: The Witcher 3's 30-Hour Blood and Wine Expansion Out Now

It's the end of the road for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as it relates to add-on content. Developer CD Projekt Red today released the RPG's major Blood and Wine expansion, which is the final piece of expansion content that the Polish developer plans to deliver.

Blood and Wine offers over 90 new quests and around 30 hours of gameplay in its new region of Toussaint. There are 40 new points of interest to discover, while players can collect more than 30 new weapons and 100 individual pieces of armor. There are also 20 new monsters to slay.

GameSpot's Blood and Wine review scored it an 8/10.

"Perhaps we will join him in yet another adventure, but if Blood and Wine is the White Wolf's final interactive appearance, he at least departs in style," reviewer Kevin VanOrd said. "I'll miss you, Geralt--your impossibly perfect hair, your mercenary disposition, your stoic approach to horrific crimes and unspeakable tragedies. If you and Roach must ride into the sunset, then I'm glad the time we spent together was so enthralling."

Though you will need to buy the expansion (it's $20 on its own and is included with $25 DLC pass), all players benefited from a new patch that came out on May 30. This added an enemy upscaling option and a system to help make it easier to collect Gwent cards, as well as lots of bug fixes.

Looking ahead, CD Projekt Red has informed Witcher fans not to expect to see The Witcher 4 anytime soon, if ever. You may not have to wait much longer to hear about what's coming next from CD Projekt Red, however, as the developer recently teased that it may show a new game at E3 next month.
