Radio edit

In music, a radio edit is a modification, typically truncated, to make a song more suitable for airplay, whether it be adjusted for length, profanity, subject matter, instrumentation, or form. Radio edits may also be used for commercial single versions, which may be denoted as the 7" version. However, not all "radio edit" tracks are played on radio.

Editing for time

Radio edits often shorten a long song in order to make it more commercially viable for radio stations. The normal length for songs played on the radio is 3 to 4 minutes. Occasionally, the song will simply fade out earlier, common on tracks with long instrumental endings. For instance, the radio edit of 'Heroes' by David Bowie fades in shortly before the beginning of the third verse and fades out shortly before the vocal vamping at the end of the song. Another example is B.o.B's song, "Nothin' On You" featuring Bruno Mars, whose radio edit skips the first 5 seconds & starts with the 6th second in which Bruno Mars starts singing the first chorus. The second half of the first chorus is sometimes skipped, along with the last 24 seconds which is the normal fade-out part in which B.o.B says, "Yeah, and that's just how we do it/And I'ma let this ride/B.o.B and Bruno Mars", and the radio edit ends with the fourth and last chorus with an earlier fade-out. A 3rd example would be the song, "The Man" by Aloe Blacc, in which the radio edit skips the "I'm the man/Go ahead & tell everybody/What I'm saying ya all" part & the first 10 seconds. Also, the 3rd chorus of the song is shortened. However, many radio edits will also edit out verses, bridges, and interludes, such as the original single edit of "Piano Man" by Billy Joel which substitutes the end of the third verse for the ending of the second verse. Another example for this case is Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors", where the radio edit cuts the entire "You are the love of my life" part.

I Do (Jamelia song)

"I Do" is the second single from British R&B artist Jamelia. "I Do" was the first single from her debut album Drama and was her first UK top 40 hit, peaking at #36 on the UK Singles Chart. The Spanish Mix has Slum Village rapping on it as well as a UK rapper named Dubwise (Junior Williams). The track was originally remixed with only Dubwise rapping. Although Dubwise's rap was great, he was largely unknown. So it was suggested that an American rap group may help to further the success of the single. So Slum Village was chosen to rap on it. After they heard Dubwise's rap, they suggested that at least one of his verses should remain, in respect of his efforts. Dubwise's verse appears in between two members of Slum Village's raps, near the end of the track and begins with "now if you really wanna score.........."

Crunk Rock

Crunk Rock is the solo debut album and eighth overall album by American crunk artist Lil Jon, released on June 8, 2010 by BME and Universal Republic. The characters at the bottom of the album's cover are Japanese katakana characters, which read "Kurunku Rokku," the Japanese transcription of the album's title.

Background and recording

Work on the album began in 2005. In May 2006, MTV reported that it would be released late that summer or in early fall. At that time he announced that he was relocating to Las Vegas where the album would be recorded, and that half of the album would be similar in style to his 2003 single "Get Low". In June that year, recording had started, and Lil Jon announced that he planned to include collaborations with R. Kelly, Mariah Carey, and Snoop Dogg on the album, and the first single from the album sessions, "Snap Yo Fingers" was released, reaching number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. In January 2007, it was reported that Lil Jon was still in the studio working on the album, and that recorded tracks included "Roll Call" featuring Lil Wayne and Ciara, and tracks featuring R. Kelly and Nate Dogg. The prospective release date at that time was Spring 2007. At this time he was already indicating problems with the record label, stating that he "was going through the drama with TVT Records". By August 2007, the album's release date had slipped again, with late 2007 the expected date. The list of guest artists had by this time expanded to include Game, Ice Cube, P.O.D. and Kid Rock, with Jon explaining that "the concept of the album is that it is merger of rock and hip-hop styles, utilising the different styles of the guest contributors." By November 2007, however, the album was reported to be "65 percent, maybe 70 percent done", with a release now expected in 2008, with Lil Jon taking time out to DJ and do voiceover work in Hollywood.

I Do (1921 film)

I Do is a 1921 short comedy film featuring Harold Lloyd. This short is notable for having a cartoon wedding in the first scene.

A year later, the two walk down the street with a baby carriage carrying a bottle instead of a baby when they run into The Girl's brother who asks the couple to do him a favor and babysit his children. They accept and the remainder of the short consists of gags showcasing the difficulties of babysitting children. At the very end, The Boy discovers some knitted baby clothes in a drawer (implying that The Girl is pregnant).

Warehouse 13 (season 1)

The first season of the American television series Warehouse 13 premiered on July 7, 2009, and concluded on September 22, 2009, on Syfy. The show aired on Tuesdays at 9:00 pm ET. The season consisted of 12 episodes. The show stars Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly, Saul Rubinek, Genelle Williams and Simon Reynolds.

Synopsis

In the beginning of season one, Pete and Myka, two secret service agents who were protecting the president, were transferred against their will to the remote Badlands Wilderness in South Dakota. There they were given a job at Warehouse 13 to protect and retrieve various talisman artifacts around the world under the supervision of Dr. Arthur "Artie" Nielsen. At first Pete and Myka were reluctant to be partners, but during the season they grew closer. At the beginning of season one there was a breach in Warehouse 13's computer system which turned out to be caused by Claudia Donovan, who wanted Artie to help her bring her brother back from interdimensional limbo where he was trapped. After they saved Joshua, Mrs. Frederic wanted Artie to either hire Claudia, or "deal with" her, since she knew too much about Warehouse 13. However, Artie was reluctant to hire her until Leena convinced him that it would be better for Claudia to work at the Warehouse.

Claudia, a story about a naive young wife's maturing, is a 1941 play by Rose Franken.

Broadway play

Claudia, based on Franken's 1939 novel, premiered as a play on Broadway in 1941. The play was written and directed by Rose Franken and produced by John Golden. The show starred Dorothy McGuire as Claudia Naughton and Donald Cook as David Naughton. When it closed in 1943, it had run for a total of 722 performances.

Books

Franken's Claudia: The Story of a Marriage was released in 1939, the first in a series of books which would be followed by Another Claudia (1943), Young Claudia (1946), The Marriage of Claudia (1948), From Claudia to David (1949), two 1952 novels, and a 1958 omnibus edition called The Complete Book of Claudia. The Claudia series explored the challenges and delights of family relationships that foster personal growth.

Claudia was first made into a film, Claudia (1943), followed by Claudia and David in 1946.

Television

In January 1953, NBC-TV premiered a series based on Claudia: The Story of a Marriage, lasting three months.

311 Claudia

311 Claudia is a typical Main belt asteroid.

It was discovered by Auguste Charlois on June 11, 1891 in Nice. The name was suggested to Charlois by the amateur astronomer Arthur Mee of Cardiff, Wales, to commemorate Mee's wife, Claudia.

311 Claudia is one of the Koronis family of asteroids. A group of astronomers, including Lucy D’Escoffier Crespo da Silva and Richard P. Binzel, used observations made between 1998 through 2000 to determine the spin-vector alignment of these asteroids. The collaborative work resulted in the creation of 61 new individual rotation lightcurves to augment previous published observations.
