Bab Ballads

The Bab Ballads are a collection of light verse by W. S. Gilbert, illustrated with his own comic drawings. Gilbert wrote the Ballads before he became famous for his comic opera librettos with Arthur Sullivan. In writing the Bab Ballads, Gilbert developed his unique "topsy-turvy" style, where the humour was derived by setting up a ridiculous premise and working out its logical consequences, however absurd. The Ballads also reveal Gilbert's cynical and satirical approach to humour. They became famous on their own, as well as being a source for plot elements, characters and songs that Gilbert would recycle in the Gilbert and Sullivan operas. The Bab Ballads take their name from Gilbert's childhood nickname, and he later began to sign his illustrations "Bab".

The Ballads contain both satire and nonsense, as well as a great deal of utter absurdity. They were read aloud at private dinner-parties, public banquets and even in the House of Lords. The ballads have been much published, and there are even recordings of readings of some of them.

Fourth grade

Fourth Grade (also called Grade Four or Year five in Britain) is a term used to refer to a year of elementary education in some countries. In North America (with which region the term is usually associated thanks to its repetition in widely disseminated media sources) the fourth grade is the fourth school year after kindergarten. Students are usually 8-9 years old, depending on their birthday. It is a part of elementary school, a school providing instruction for young pupils, comprising the first three, four, or five grades of a student's educational career. Examples of lessons taught include - larger place value; how to write a good summary; writing with transitions; how to read large numbers; writing with starter sentence; and detailed sentences.

Argentina equivalent

In Argentina, the minimum age required for fourth grade is from 8 to 9 years old. In this instance, children who are in the middle of primary school performed the "confirmation of loyalty to the homeland," is an act in which children will have to swear to the Argentina country to "defend for the rest of his life". Sometimes children do a trip to Rosario, where raises the National Flag Memorial (Argentina).

Fifth grade

Fifth grade (called Grade 5 in some regions) is a year of education in many nations. The fifth grade is the fifth school year after kindergarten. Students are usually 10–13 years old. Depending on the school district, the grade may be in one of the following scenarios: the first year of middle school, the last year of elementary school, the last year of intermediate school, or none of those. Also, in other schools Grade 4 and 5 are one school. In Asian countries like India, fifth grade education is also known as 'class 5' which is usually the last grade of the primary education system.

Hayley Williams

Hayley Nichole Williams (born December 27, 1988) is an American singer, songwriter and musician. She is best known as the lead vocalist, occasional keyboardist and primary songwriter of the American rock band Paramore.

Early life

Hayley Williams was born to Joey and Cristi Williams, in Meridian, Mississippi. She has two younger half sisters. As a result of her parents divorcing in 2002, Williams moved to Franklin, Tennessee. She met former band members Josh and Zac Farro in her new school. While still at school she tried out for a local funk cover band, The Factory, where she met Jeremy Davis.

Music career

Williams was discovered in 2003 by managers Dave Steunebrink and Richard Williams, who signed the 14-year-old to a two-year production deal. At the time she was writing pop songs with songwriters in Nashville. Williams was introduced to Atlantic Records A&R Tom Storms through Richard Williams' attorneys Jim Zumwalt and Kent Marcus, and then signed to the label by Jason Flom. The label's original plan for their new artist was to make her a solo pop artist but Williams objected to this, saying that she wanted to be part of a band and play pop punk music.
