Kala Alexander is a Hawaiian surfer quote: "best known as a merciless enforcer to surfers who visit the North Shore of Oahu and take waves out of turn; called the "Toughest Fucking Man in Surfing" by Stab magazine." After moving to the North Shore of Oahu in 2001, Kala Alexander quickly earned a reputation for dishing out public beatings to surfers who violated the strict local pecking order in the lineup, especially at Pipeline. "Getting dropped in on at Pipe is like someone pointing a gun at your head," he explained to ESPN in 2005, "And you know, if you point a gun at one of us, well, there are gonna be consequences." His brain is swollen and he is still in coma. Update 01/18/2016 The Brazilian big wave surfer Eduardo Bassetto is still in critical condition after his surf accident on 01/15/16 at Makaha in Hawaii. He was in a coma for a few days after he went to hospital. Brazilian surfer Eduardo Bassetto almost died on 01/15/16 on the west side of Oahu. He was paddling out when a local Hawaiian surfer, who was already riding the big wave, couldn't move out of the way anymore. The surfboard hit the Brazilian surfer so hard that he got unconscious. The lifeguard pulled him out on their jet ski and started CPR immediately. It took about 8 minutes until the ambulance got to Makaha beach. People were praying on the beach. The wife of the Brazilian surfer Eduardo Bassetto sat crying and shocked on the beach. The Brazilian surfer was still not breathing when the ambulance arrived. Later the word on the beach was that he started breathing in the ambulance. The lifeguard did an excellent job and everybody on the beach was cooperative, tried to help or at least stay out of the way. The incident showed how dangerous Big wave surfing in Hawaii is. From one second to another a persons life can be on the line!
