The High Court (band)
The High Court was an American pop punk band from Mount Holly, New Jersey. They released one full studio album, Puppet Strings (The High Court album) in 2007, before disbanding in June 2008.
History
The High Court's name is an alternate acronym for THC, the psychoactive substance found in marijuana. The group formed in 2005 from the ashes of several local metal acts. Members Lou Cuello, Kyle Shellhammer, and Denny Carvell placed an ad for a singer on Craigslist, and formed The High Court after John Brown answered the ad. They signed to I Surrender Records and released their debut album, Puppet Strings, in mid-2007. The group played the Warped Tour to support the album. Lou Cuello left the group in September 2007.in late 2007 and early 2008 they toured with 2*Sweet, Fireworks,Bedlight for Blue Eyes and Asteria.The High Court disbanded in June 2008.the band stated that some of the members are going to be starting other projects in the future.
JB is currently singing for the New Jersey band Bright and Early. Shellhammer is the bassist for Just Surrender.

For the past 15 months, the people of Delhi have witnessed a war of words between the AAP govt and LG Najeeb Jung. The crux of the fight between the two sides is the special status given to Delhi by the Constitution. But that tussle for supremacy seems to be at an end, for now. The Delhi High Court has dismissed a petition filed by the Kejriwal govt challenging the powers of Delhi LG in appointing bureaucrats in the capital. The court in its order described the Lieutenant Governor as the administrator of Delhi. While Jung welcomed the verdict, AAP quickly vowed to contest it by moving the Supreme Court. AT SUNRISE on the morning the Supreme Court of the United States was to hear the cases on Marriage Equality - March 26, 2013 - leading clergy from all faiths came together for A Prayer for Love & Justice in support of LGBT equality.
Faith leaders of all denominations and traditions from Christian to Native American prepared their own remarks on the themes of the service beginning with LGBT Harm & Persecution, and ending with our Liberation, Love & Marriage.
As prayers were read in succession, no introductions were made during the service, which was conceived as a prayer from beginning to end.
Following the service, the drummers and faith leaders lead a procession to the steps of the Supreme Court for the Rally. At first, their arrival startled some, until they realized the faiths were marching for Marriage Equality. Then there was jubilation.
This historic event was hosted by the Lutheran Church of the Reformation, standing directly behind the Supreme Court building. And special gratitude is extended to this congregation, which has been home to many civil rights events in its history.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today (Apriul 7, 2015) sought to defuse the row over the statement of the state Advocate General on cow slaughter ban, saying the beef ban will not be extended to any other meat. As the purported remarks by Advocate General Sunil Manohar before the Mumbai High Court that the government might consider extending the ban to other animals as well triggered a controversy, Fadnavis said that according to the law officer his statement was "misinterpreted". "I have spoken to Advocate General. He has said that his statement in the court yesterday has been isinterpreted," Fadnavis said in the state Assembly. The Chief Minister's remarks came in the wake of the AG's response to the high court's query to the government as to why there is ban on slaughter of cows, bulls and bullocks only and not to any other animals like goats. Raising the issue in the House, members from BJP ally Shiv Sena, Arjun Khotkar and Sunil Prabhu, sought to know the state's stand on the high court's query to the government. Earlier, Sunil Prabhu (Sena) said the AG's statement had created confusion in the minds of people. The beef ban has already sparked protests from political and cultural groups, alleging it amounted to encroachment on individual choices and eating habits of large sections of people, especially the minority communities. Chaotic scenes were witnessed in the state Legislative Council, as Opposition and Shiv Sena members opposed the AG's statement.

But his legacy was tarnished by charges of drug use, wife beating, and a police chase that landed him in prison. This is a story I did when he was in prison about his descent into drug use and features footage of some of his bizarre behavior, and a retelling of the police chase by the cops involved. In late 1987, while Guns N' Roses was on tour, an intoxicated Adler broke his hand when he punched a streetlight after a barroom brawl. Fred Coury from the band Cinderella substituted on drums for several shows until Adler recovered.[6] At the 1989 American Music Awards, where Guns N' Roses performed their latest single, "Patience," Nobody filled in for Adler on drums because no drums were planned for the song and it ended up being acoustic only song. Officially, the absence was attributed to a case of the flu; it was later revealed that Adler had actually been in a drug rehabilitation program at the time.
Problems continued in 1990, as the band recorded "Civil War" for Nobody's Child, an album benefiting the Romanian Angel Appeal. Axl Rose has said in interviews that "Civil War was recorded a good 60 times" due to problems with Adler[citation needed] ; Slash, in another article, stated that the band had to edit the drum track to "Civil War" simply to be able to play along with it.[5] By Adler's own admission, he tried to play the song "20, maybe 30 times."[3] During the recording of "Civil War" Adler was still trying to stop using drugs.[4]
Adler was briefly fired from the band, but was reinstated after signing a contract promising to stop using drugs.[7] In July 1990, he performed with Guns N' Roses at Farm Aid IV in Indiana. It would be his last appearance with the band. When problems in the studio continued, he was formally fired on July 11, 1990,[8][9] during the recording of the Use Your Illusion I & Use Your Illusion II albums, and replaced with Matt Sorum. The official reason for his departure, according to various members of the band, was his heavy substance abuse which impeded his ability to work. Geffen A&R; rep Tom Zutaut, who worked with Guns N' Roses, corroborated this claim, stating in a 1999 interview, "Steven Adler would show up at the recording studio completely high. Recording sessions would abort for several days when he couldn't put it together."[10]
In October 1991, he filed a lawsuit against his former Guns N' Roses bandmates, claiming that they were responsible for his drug addiction and that the contracts he had signed actually took away his financial interest in the band.[11] In a 2005 interview he stated, "Doug Goldstein called me into the office about two weeks later. He wanted me to sign some contracts. I was told that every time I did heroin, the band would fine me $2,000. There was a whole stack of papers, with colored paper clips everywhere for my signatures. What these contracts actually said was that the band were paying me $2,000 to leave. They were taking my royalties, all my writing credits. They didn't like me anymore and just wanted me gone. That's why I filed the lawsuit - to get all those things back."[3][9]
Adler's lawsuit against his former Guns N' Roses bandmates was settled out of court in 1993. He received a back-payment check of $2,250,000 USD and was granted 15% of the royalties for everything he recorded prior to his departure.

Alto saxophonist Bobby Watson continues to pay tribute to his hometown of Kansas City, Missouri with his latest CD "Gates Bar-B-Que Suite." Watson moved back to his hometown almost 10 years ago where he's currently Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. A graduate of the University of Miami, Bobby's first professional gig was with the legendary bop-master Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, where he played for four years. He eventually became his musical director. After his stint with Blakey, he played with a wide range of both jazz, rock, and R & B musicians from Chaka Khan to Joe Williams to Louis Hayes.
During the 1980's Watson's love for both bop and the sax led him to form many groups: Horizon, The High Court of Swing, The Tailor Made Big Band, and the 29th Street Saxophone Quartet.
It was with Horizon where he took elements of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and lead a group of up-and-coming artists that fused bop and soul. Throughout the years many of the successful members of Horizon included: Roy Hargrove, Joey Calderazzo, Benny Green, John Hicks, and Marvin Smith. This year's 2010 Detroit International Jazz Festival included the reunion of Horizon featuring Victor Lewis(drums), Terell Stafford(trumpet), Edward Simon(piano), and Essiet Essiet(bass).

Alto saxophonist Bobby Watson continues to pay tribute to his hometown of Kansas City, Missouri with his latest CD "Gates Bar-B-Que Suite." Watson moved back to his hometown almost 10 years ago where he's currently Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Kansas City is where Bobby was exposed to the rich heritage of jazz music and the food that makes up this great city.
A graduate of the University of Miami, Bobby's first professional gig was with the legendary bop-master Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, where he played for four years. He eventually became his musical director. After his stint with Blakey, he played with a wide range of both jazz, rock, and R & B musicians from Chaka Khan to Joe Williams to Louis Hayes.
During the 1980's Watson's love for both bop and the sax led him to form many groups: Horizon, The High Court of Swing, The Tailor Made Big Band, and the 29th Street Saxophone Quartet.
It was with Horizon where he took elements of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and lead a group of up-and-coming artists that fused bop and soul. Throughout the years many of the successful members of Horizon included: Roy Hargrove, Joey Calderazzo, Benny Green, John Hicks, and Marvin Smith. This year's 2010 Detroit International Jazz Festival included the reunion of Horizon featuring Victor Lewis(drums), Terell Stafford(trumpet), Edward Simon(piano), and Essiet Essiet(bass).

Kuldeep kumar : In the ink controversy of Rajyasabha elections,Punjab and Haryana High court has issued a notice , on the the petition of Candidate RK Anand of INLD ,to Rajyasabha member Chaudhary Birendra Singh ,Subhash Chandra and Rajyasabha election's Returning officer ,RK Nandal . The next hearing on the petition is scheduled on 6th of October. In the petition filed by RK Anand he alleged that the elections of Rajyasabha held in June were fabricated . Buganda Road Chief Magistrates court has finally committed Aaron Baguma to the high court for trial over the murder of city business woman Donah Betty Katushabe.
