Samsara (2011 film)
Samsara is a 2011 non-narrative documentary film, directed by Ron Fricke and produced by Mark Magidson, who also collaborated on Baraka (1992), a film of a similar vein. Samsara was filmed over five years in 25 countries around the world. It was shot in 70 mm format and output to digital format. The film premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival and received a limited release in August 2012.
Synopsis
The official website describes the film, "Expanding on the themes they developed in Baraka (1992) and Chronos (1985), Samsara explores the wonders of our world from the mundane to the miraculous, looking into the unfathomable reaches of humanity's spirituality and the human experience. Neither a traditional documentary nor a travelogue, Samsara takes the form of a nonverbal, guided meditation."
Production
Samsara is directed by Ron Fricke and produced by Mark Magidson. The pair had collaborated on Baraka (1992) and reunited in 2006 to plan Samsara. They researched locations that would fit the conceptual imagery of samsara, to them "meaning 'birth, death and rebirth' or 'impermanence'". They gathered research from people's works and photo books as well as the Internet and YouTube, resources not available at the time of planning Baraka. They considered using digital cameras but decided to film in 70 mm instead, considering its quality superior. Fricke and Magidson began filming Samsara the following year. Filming lasted for more than four years and took place in 25 countries across five continents. Three years into filming, the pair began assembling the film and editing it. They pursued several pick-up shoots to augment the final product.

Film was a Yugoslav rock group founded in 1978 in Zagreb. Film was one of the most popular rock groups of the former Yugoslav new wave in the late 1970s to early 1980s.
History
New wave years (1979-1981)
During 1977 and 1978, bassist Marino Pelajić, guitarist Mladen Jurčić, and drummer Branko Hromatko were Azra members when Branimir "Johnny" Štulić brought Jura Stublić as the new vocalist. Stublić was to become Aerodrom member, but due to his deep vocals it never happened. The lineup functioned for a few months only and after a quarrel with Štulić, on early 1979, Pelajić, Jurčić, Hromatko and Stublić formed the band Šporko Šalaporko i Negove Žaluzine, naming the band after a story from the "Polet" youth magazine, which was soon after renamed to Film. The memories of the Azra lineup later inspired Štulić to write the song "Roll over Jura" released on Filigranski pločnici in 1982.
Saxophonist Jurij Novoselić, who at the time had worked under the pseudonym Kuzma Videosex, joined the band, inspiring others to use pseudonym instead of their original names: vocalist Stublić became Jura Jupiter, bassist Pelajić became Mario Baraccuda and guitarist Jurčić became Max Wilson. Before joining the band, Stublić did not have much experience as a vocalist, however, since his father had been an opera singer, he often visited the theatre and opera, and at the age of 13, he started playing the guitar, earning money as a street performer at seaside resorts.

Film (film)
Film is a 1965 film written by Samuel Beckett, his only screenplay. It was commissioned by Barney Rosset of Grove Press. Writing began on 5 April 1963 with a first draft completed within four days. A second draft was produced by 22 May and a forty-leaf shooting script followed thereafter. It was filmed in New York in July 1964.
Beckett’s original choice for the lead – referred to only as “O” – was Charlie Chaplin, but his script never reached him. Both Beckett and the director Alan Schneider were interested in Zero Mostel and Jack MacGowran. However, the former was unavailable and the latter, who accepted at first, became unavailable due to his role in a "Hollywood epic." Beckett then suggested Buster Keaton. Schneider promptly flew to Los Angeles and persuaded Keaton to accept the role along with "a handsome fee for less than three weeks' work."James Karen, who was to have a small part in the film, also encouraged Schneider to contact Keaton.
The filmed version differs from Beckett's original script but with his approval since he was on set all the time, this being his only visit to the United States. The script printed in Collected Shorter Plays of Samuel Beckett (Faber and Faber, 1984) states:

Band Aid, the refreshingly raw, real, and hilarious feature debut from Zoe Lister-Jones, is the story of a couple, Anna (Zoe Lister-Jones) and Ben (Adam Pally), who can’t stop fighting. Advised by their therapist to try and work through their grief unconventionally, they are reminded of their shared love of music. In a last-ditch effort to save their marriage, they decide to turn all their fights into song, and with the help of their neighbor Dave (Fred Armisen), they start a band. A story of love, loss, and rock and roll, Band Aid is a witty and perceptive view of modern love, with some seriously catchy pop hooks to boot.

در آخرین دقایق زندگی پدری تلاش میکند با دختر خود تماس بگیرد، ولی ناتوان از این تماس از دنیا میرود. زمانی که دختر به به همراه برادر خود به منزل پدر میرسند، خیلی دیر شده است. وصیتنامه پدر نواختن موسیقی در زمان مراسم تشییع پیکرش است زیرا که او به خانم همسایه قول داده بود تا در تولدش برایش موسیقی بنوازد.

زن روز مجلهای از گروه نشریات روزنامه کیهان است دربارهٔ مدلهای لباس زنانه، اخبار زنان، پزشکی، عکس، سرگرمی، کودکان، هنرپیشهها، تاریخچهٔ لباس که در ایران منتشر میشود.این نشریه در اوایل دهه ۱۳۴۰ شمسی توسط مرحوم مجید دوامی بنیانگذاری شد. دوامی معتقد به روزنامهنگاری جنجالی بود. وی در بازگشت از سفر به امریکا که بهمنظور یک دورهٔ مطالعاتی بود، با خود طرحی به همراه داشت که توانست با موافقت دکتر مصباحزاده در کیهان آن را به اجرا درآورد. که نتیجه آن در سال ۱۳۴۳ شمسی (۱۹۶۵ میلادی) انتشار پر تیراژ ترین مجلهٔ تاریخ ایران یعنی هفتهنامه زن روز با مدیریت فروغ مصباحزاده و سردبیری تامالاختیار مجید دوامی بود.زن روز قبل از انقلاب ۱۳۵۷ ایران و بعد از اصلاحات مشهور به انقلاب شاه و ملت عملاً پرچمدار مدرنیزم و فمینیسم در ایران بود.در این مجله برای سلیقه های مختلف مطلب وجود داشت.از جمله طرحهای جنبی و جنجالی مجله زن روز برپایی مسابقاتی با عنوان دختر شایسته ایران بود که در زمرهٔ مسابقات جهانی قرار داشت و یک بار منتخب ایرانی این مسابقه موفق شد که در مسابقات جهانی برگزیده شود. این طرح از بدو شروع با مخالفت محافل سنتی و مذهبی مواجه گردید.انتشار این نشریه در حال حاضر نیز ادامه دارد و این نشریه هنوز زیرمجموعهٔ مؤسسه کیهان است.

Samsara (2011 film)
Samsara is a 2011 non-narrative documentary film, directed by Ron Fricke and produced by Mark Magidson, who also collaborated on Baraka (1992), a film of a similar vein. Samsara was filmed over five years in 25 countries around the world. It was shot in 70 mm format and output to digital format. The film premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival and received a limited release in August 2012.
Synopsis
The official website describes the film, "Expanding on the themes they developed in Baraka (1992) and Chronos (1985), Samsara explores the wonders of our world from the mundane to the miraculous, looking into the unfathomable reaches of humanity's spirituality and the human experience. Neither a traditional documentary nor a travelogue, Samsara takes the form of a nonverbal, guided meditation."
Production
Samsara is directed by Ron Fricke and produced by Mark Magidson. The pair had collaborated on Baraka (1992) and reunited in 2006 to plan Samsara. They researched locations that would fit the conceptual imagery of samsara, to them "meaning 'birth, death and rebirth' or 'impermanence'". They gathered research from people's works and photo books as well as the Internet and YouTube, resources not available at the time of planning Baraka. They considered using digital cameras but decided to film in 70 mm instead, considering its quality superior. Fricke and Magidson began filming Samsara the following year. Filming lasted for more than four years and took place in 25 countries across five continents. Three years into filming, the pair began assembling the film and editing it. They pursued several pick-up shoots to augment the final product.

Farhang Foundation and the UCLA Film & Television Archive are proud to present filmmaker Jeff Kaufman’s urgent documentary NASRIN as part of the UCLA CELEBRATION OF IRANIAN CINEMA virtual series. NASRIN will be available for streaming from Friday, October 9 at 12AM (PST) through Thursday, October 15 11:59PM (PST). Admission is $12 and a portion of your purchase will support the UCLA Archive’s public programs. خلاصه داستان#
در آخرین دقایق زندگی پدری تلاش میکند با دختر خود تماس بگیرد، ولی ناتوان از این تماس از دنیا میرود. زمانی که دختر به به همراه برادر خود به منزل پدر میرسند، خیلی دیر شده است. وصیتنامه پدر نواختن موسیقی در زمان مراسم تشییع پیکرش است زیرا که او به خانم همسایه قول داده بود تا در تولدش برایش موسیقی بنوازد.

زن روز مجلهای از گروه نشریات روزنامه کیهان است دربارهٔ مدلهای لباس زنانه، اخبار زنان، پزشکی، عکس، سرگرمی، کودکان، هنرپیشهها، تاریخچهٔ لباس که در ایران منتشر میشود.این نشریه در اوایل دهه ۱۳۴۰ شمسی توسط مرحوم مجید دوامی بنیانگذاری شد. دوامی معتقد به روزنامهنگاری جنجالی بود. وی در بازگشت از سفر به امریکا که بهمنظور یک دورهٔ مطالعاتی بود، با خود طرحی به همراه داشت که توانست با موافقت دکتر مصباحزاده در کیهان آن را به اجرا درآورد. که نتیجه آن در سال ۱۳۴۳ شمسی (۱۹۶۵ میلادی) انتشار پر تیراژ ترین مجلهٔ تاریخ ایران یعنی هفتهنامه زن روز با مدیریت فروغ مصباحزاده و سردبیری تامالاختیار مجید دوامی بود.زن روز قبل از انقلاب ۱۳۵۷ ایران و بعد از اصلاحات مشهور به انقلاب شاه و ملت عملاً پرچمدار مدرنیزم و فمینیسم در ایران بود.در این مجله برای سلیقه های مختلف مطلب وجود داشت.از جمله طرحهای جنبی و جنجالی مجله زن روز برپایی مسابقاتی با عنوان دختر شایسته ایران بود که در زمرهٔ مسابقات جهانی قرار داشت و یک بار منتخب ایرانی این مسابقه موفق شد که در مسابقات جهانی برگزیده شود. این طرح از بدو شروع با مخالفت محافل سنتی و مذهبی مواجه گردید.انتشار این نشریه در حال حاضر نیز ادامه دارد و این نشریه هنوز زیرمجموعهٔ مؤسسه کیهان است.
