We’re messing with you. Who Wants to Be A Volunteer is – at least so far - not a reality show, and Africa is still not a country. But in our video, did you recognise the familiar stereotypes of how the African continent tends to be portrayed? Or the image of the “white hero” and the “exotic other”?
We need to change the way fundraising campaigns are communicating issues of poverty and development. This is why we are awarding creative fundraising campaigns with the Golden Radiator Award, and stereotypical campaigns with the Rusty Radiator Award. An international jury has nominated seven videos, and YOU get to decide the winners by VOTING NOW! Winners will be announced 2nd of December.

A female volunteer at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina threw a child’s stroller out of the waiting area, allegedly called a black man the n-word and yelled like a demon. Seriously, watch the video. A female volunteer at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina went from 0 to 100 real quick. It is unclear what prompted the encounter between the enraged hospital volunteer and a father, Isaiah Baskins, who was at the facility with his two children and posted video of the incident to YouTube.
According to the posting, Baskins' daughter had an appointment at the hospital. Somewhere between the appointment and the start of the video, things went south fast, with Baskins claiming that the woman used the n-word. On the video she can be heard saying that she doesn't want to see his "gray underwear." According to the Winston-Salem Journal, she also referred to his "saggy pants."
"We deeply regret and apologize for this behavior demonstrated by our volunteer in this video," Wake Forest Baptist officials posted in the comments section under the video. "We are dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for all, with respect, dignity and compassion. We are taking action, and this individual is no longer a volunteer with our organization. If they haven’t already, one of our senior executives should be reaching out to you shortly. Again, we apologize for this appalling incident."
In the seven-minute-long video, the hospital volunteer can be seen taking a stroller and pushing it out of the area where Baskins and his children are sitting.
Baskins can be heard saying, "There's something wrong with this volunteer. She's acting the fool."
The volunteer can be heard telling Baskins, "You're getting out."
The volunteer then proceeds to call security and begins yelling in a demonic tone that Baskins needs to leave.
Baskins tells her that he's recording the incident. And then things really get scary.

Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity, intended to promote good or improve human quality of life. It is considered as serving the society through own interest, personal skills or learning, which in return produces a feeling of self-worth and respect, instead of money. Volunteering is also famous for the skill development, to socialize and to have fun. It is also intended to make contacts for possible employment or for a variety of other reasons.
Volunteering takes many forms, and can be performed by anyone with own set of skills. Many volunteers are specifically trained in the areas they work in, such as medicine, education, or emergency rescue. Other volunteers serve on an as-needed basis, such as in response to a natural disaster or for a beach-cleanup.
The verb Volunteer was first recorded in 1755, from the noun, in C.1600, "one who offers himself for military service," from M.Fr. Voluntaire. The word in the Non-military sense was first recorded during 1630s. The word Volunteering has a more recent usage, still predominantly military, coinciding with the word Community service.

Plot: In 1920, rural Ireland is the vicious battlefield of republican rebels against the British security forces and Irish Unionist population who oppose them, a recipe for mutual cruelty. Just when he's leaving Ireland to work in a highly reputed London hospital, witnessing gross abuse of commoners changes his mind. he returns and joins the local IRA brigade, commanded by his brother Teddy, and adopts the merciless logic of civil war, while Teddy mellows by experiencing first-hand endless suffering. When IRA leaders negotiate an autonomous Free State under the British crown, Teddy defends the pragmatic best possible deal at this stage. Damien however joins the large seceding faction which holds nothing less then a socialist republic will do. The result is another civil war, bloodily opposing former Irish comrades in arms, even the brothers.

A female volunteer at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina threw a child’s stroller out of the waiting area, allegedly called a black man the n-word and yelled like a demon. Seriously, watch the video. A female volunteer at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina went from 0 to 100 real quick. It is unclear what prompted the encounter between the enraged hospital volunteer and a father, Isaiah Baskins, who was at the facility with his two children and posted video of the incident to YouTube.
According to the posting, Baskins' daughter had an appointment at the hospital. Somewhere between the appointment and the start of the video, things went south fast, with Baskins claiming that the woman used the n-word. On the video she can be heard saying that she doesn't want to see his "gray underwear." According to the Winston-Salem Journal, she also referred to his "saggy pants."
"We deeply regret and apologize for this behavior demonstrated by our volunteer in this video," Wake Forest Baptist officials posted in the comments section under the video. "We are dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for all, with respect, dignity and compassion. We are taking action, and this individual is no longer a volunteer with our organization. If they haven’t already, one of our senior executives should be reaching out to you shortly. Again, we apologize for this appalling incident."
In the seven-minute-long video, the hospital volunteer can be seen taking a stroller and pushing it out of the area where Baskins and his children are sitting.
Baskins can be heard saying, "There's something wrong with this volunteer. She's acting the fool."
The volunteer can be heard telling Baskins, "You're getting out."
The volunteer then proceeds to call security and begins yelling in a demonic tone that Baskins needs to leave.
Baskins tells her that he's recording the incident. And then things really get scary.

The First American Volunteer Team (AVG) of the Chinese Flying force in 1941-- 1942, nicknamed the Flying Tigers, consisted of pilots from the United States Military Air Corps (USAAC), Navy (USN), and Marine Corps (USMC), recruited under presidential authority and also regulated by Claire Lee Chennault. The shark-faced nose art of the Flying Tigers stays amongst one of the most well-known picture of any individual combat aircraft or combat unit of The second world war.
The group comprise 3 boxer squadrons of around 30 airplane each. It educated in Burma before the American entry into World Battle II with the goal of guarding China versus Japanese pressures. The team of volunteers were officially members of the Chinese Flying force. The participants of the team had agreements with salaries varying from $250 a month for a mechanic to $750 for a squadron commander, roughly three times what they had been making in the U.S. pressures. While it accepted some civilian volunteers for its headquarters and chase crew, the AVG hired most of its personnel from the U.S. military.
The group first saw combat on 20 December 1941, 12 days after Pearl Harbor (regional time). It demonstrated innovative tactical victories when the news in the U.S. was fulled of bit more than stories of defeat at the hands of the Japanese forces, and achieved such notable success during the lowest period of the war for both the U.S. and the Allied Forces about offer hope to America that it could at some point beat the Japanese. AVG pilots earned main credit, and also obtained battle bonuses, for damaging 296 enemy aircraft, [1] while shedding just 14 aviators in combat. [1] The fight records of the AVG still already existing as well as researchers have located them credible [citation required] On 4 July 1942 the AVG was disbanded. It was replaced by the 23rd Fighter Group of the United States Army Air Forces, which was later absorbed into the U.S. Fourteenth Air Force with General Chennault as commander. The 23rd FG went on to accomplish similar fight success, while keeping the nose fine art on the left-over P-40s.
