"The Rise of Brazil," a lecture by Larry Rohter, journalist with the New York Times.
2009 is all set to be a year of neck-snapping change. That is why we have published the latest in both regional and global political, economic, fashion, design, tech and consumer trends in acute detail, before concluding each chapter with recommendations on ways in which brands can leverage the change to engage with consumers.
The fourth change is "from Dubai-esque to non-descript luxury."
Dubai-esque luxury is glittery, oversized and in your face. In the Asias, where the luxury market has been growing faster than anywhere else in the world, understanding how the new sobriety is impacting luxury is essential.
With the recent downturn, luxury is not going to disappear in the region, but it will take a new, scaled down form. People are starting to reexamine who they are, what they buy, as well as what constitutes true luxury.
Producers of luxury will have to offer more than fashion, scarcity or illusions of grandeur. Now, to justify a premium, luxury brands must rediscover genuine, timeless values such as quality, craftsmanship and service.
To reverse perceptions of greed, luxury brands should begin to give back to society; this could be through preservation of cultural folklore and tradition. How about opening up a heritage centre that showcases product inspirations by local craftsmen?

Rohatyn
Rohatyn (Ukrainian: Рогатин, Polish: Rohatyn) is a city located on the Hnyla Lypa River in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, in western Ukraine. It is the administrative center of Rohatyn Raion (district). Population: 8,077 (2013 est.).
Prior to World War II the town was located in Poland.
Name
It was first mentioned in historical documents in 1184 as a part of the Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia. Its name seems to be derived from Ruthenia, the name of the region of the location. However, the town crest has a horn of a deer which gives the first part of the Slavish name of Rohatyn or Rogatyn - "Rog" ("Horn"). The second part "Tyn" can be connected with a word which means "Stacket". Together these two words give us "Horn Stacket".
Also there is a legend connected with the image of the deer horn of the town crest. It is said that a wife of the Duke Jaroslav Osmomysl, being lost in a forest, met a deer. She survived by following the deer out of the forest. A fort was built with name "Rogach" ("Deer") on the place where the duchess supposedly stepped out of the forest.

It would not be wrong to say that more than half of the internet is made of cat videos and pictures. Personally, when I am not using the internet for work, I am just always watching and sharing animal videos ...
