Gary S. Dolgin, a
Board Certified Marital and
Family Law attorney who also practices in the area of
Criminal Defense, has announced his candidacy for
Hillsborough County Circuit Court Judge,
Group 24, the seat currently being held by retiring Judge
William Fuente.

I believe that my expertise in Family Law and my background in
Criminal Law will be an asset to the Circuit Court. I have dedicated my professional career to the area of family and criminal law and look forward to putting my experience to work for the citizens of Hillsborough County.”
Mr. Dolgin has run a successful private practice in
Tampa since
1993, and has been practicing for 25 years. He is one of twenty-six attorneys in Hillsborough County who are Board Certified by the
Florida Bar as a specialist in Marital and Family Law. He is also a
Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law
Mediator. He previously served as an
Assistant Public Defender and an Assistant
State Attorney.
Mr. Dolgin was admitted to the Florida Bar in
1990. He is the author of
Chapter 6 “Temporary
Relief,”
Florida Dissolution of
Marriage (
Fla. Bar
CLE 12th ed. 2014), and has lectured at numerous Family Law seminars.
He has been involved in numerous professional and community activities, including service as an immediate past-President of the Tampa
Tiger Bay Club, and a member of downtown Tampa
Rotary. His community service activities in the past have included providing free legal advice for the
Father’s
Resource Center through the
Child Abuse Council,
Baseball Coach for
Tampa Bay Little League, membership in
Sertoma,
Channel 13's “
Ask a
Lawyer” program, the Hillsborough County Teen
Court Program,
University of South Florida Legal Clinic, and various bar committees.
Mr. Dolgin is a native Floridian who has lived in Tampa since he was two years old. He attended Gorrie,
Wilson and Plant public schools. He received his
B.B.A. in Accounting from
Emory University in
1986. He received his law degree from the
University of Florida,
College of Law in 1990.
He is the son of the late Dr.
David Dolgin, who was a periodontist in Tampa for 43 years and Dr. Ann Dolgin, a former associate professor at the
University of Tampa and teacher at
Plant High School. He has been married for almost 25 years to his wife, Wendi Towbin-Dolgin, a legal nurse consultant. They have seventeen year old twins, a son, Corey, and a daughter,
Mallory, and an eleven year old son, Ari. The election will be held on August 30, 2016.
