Nonbenzodiazepines (/ˌnɒnˌbɛnzoʊdaɪˈæzᵻpiːn, -ˈeɪ-/, sometimes referred to colloquially as "Z-drugs") are a class of psychoactive drugs that are very benzodiazepine-like in nature. Nonbenzodiazepines pharmacodynamics are almost entirely the same as benzodiazepine drugs and therefore employ similar benefits, side-effects, and risks. Nonbenzodiazepines, however, have dissimilar or entirely different chemical structures and, therefore, are unrelated to benzodiazepines on a molecular level.
Currently, the major chemical classes of nonbenzodiazepines are:
The nonbenzodiazepines are positive allosteric modulators of the GABA-A receptor. Like the benzodiazepines, they exert their effects by binding to and activating the benzodiazepine site of the receptor complex. Many of these compounds are subtype selective providing novel anxiolytics with little to no hypnotic and amnesiac effects and novel hypnotics with little or no anxiolytic effects.

With the holiday season upon us, I decide to take my Class C RV on the road to various parties around the Lower Mainland of Vancouver so I never have to worry about drinking driving or taking an expensive taxi ride home...and I live in my RV full time anyways! LOL The worst part of having your motor home at the party is that inevitably the party will spill out to your RV, which is OK most of the time, except when you have drunk Zopiclone Zombies raiding your refrigerator and cupboards for food, as they always make a huge mess and have zero regard that you will be cleaning the mess up in the morning... Zopiclone (brand names are Zimovane & Imovane) and is a nonbenzodiazepine hypnotic agent used in the treatment of insomnia. It is habit forming. All footage shot by yours truly. Music use...
