Presiden Joko Widodo saat memimpin rapat terbatas bidang ekonomi mengatakan pelemahan rupiah tidak akan berlangsung lama karena fundamental ekonomi Indonesia terus mengalami perbaikan. “Ini memang di seluruh negara. pelemahan mata uang di negara-negara yang lain pun sama karena memang mulai ada penarikan dolar kembali ke amerika. Tetapi dengan fundamental ekonomi kita, dengan perbaikan nilai fiskal kita, ya moga-moga di indonesia tidak berjalan lama. Tahun depan mulai berjalan baik,” kata Presiden Jokowi, Rabu kemarin (17/12). Namun pernyataan Jokowi yang sebut fundamental ekonomi Indonesia baik mendapat kritik dari Rizal Ramli. Sebab, jika fundamental ekonomi Indonesia baik, tidak mungkin rupiah terpuruk terhadap dolar. Nilai tukar rupiah terhadap dolar AS yang terus melemah akibat pengetatan suku bunga yang dilakukan Bank Sentral AS, Federal Reserve Bank sebenarnya bisa dihindari apabila fundamental ekonomi Indonesia kuat. “Jika fundamental ekonomi Indonesia sehat, dalam arti Neraca Perdangan, Neraca Transaksi Berjalan dan Neraca Pembayaran sehat, pengaruh pengetatan Fed Reserve Amerika akan sangat minimal,” ujar Ekonom Senior, Rizal Ramli, yang juga mantan Menteri Koordinator Perekonomian, di Jakarta, Rabu (17/12/2014). “Tetapi bila fundamental tidak sehat dan negara mengalami quatro deficits, sedikit saja terjadi pengetatan moneter di Amerika, rupiah akan anjlok tajam,” tutur Rizal Ramli, yang juga merupakan salah seorang anggota Panel Ahli PBB. Menurut Rizal Ramli, siapapun yang jadi presiden jika tidak punya program untuk mengurangi quatro deficits, rupiah akan terus anjlok ke Rp 14.000 dolar AS. "Sayangnya sampai saat ini menteri-menteri Jokowi hanya sibuk menyalahkan faktor internasional, tapi menjelaskan secara rinci apa yang akan dilakukan untuk mengurangi quatro deficits,” pungkas Rizal Ramli. Sebagaimana diketahui, nilai tukar rupiah terhadap dolar AS belakangan ini semakin terpuruk, dan sempat diperdagangkan pada kisaran Rp 13.000 per dolar AS. Pemerintah melalui Menteri Keuangan Bambang Brodjonegoro mencoba untuk menenangkan situasi dengan mengatakan bahwa penurunan nilai tukar terhadap dolar AS tidak hanya dialami rupiah. Penguatan nilai dolar AS adalah fenomena global. Dia mengatakan, dolar AS sedang pulang kampung.

Selamat Malam Rizal Ramli: Kasus BG Ini Kecil kalau Jokowi Punya Nyali Mantan Menteri Koordinator Perekonomian Rizal Ramli meminta Presiden Joko Widodo untuk tetap tegas menyikapi perseteruan antara Polri dan Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi. Menurut Rizal, jika Jokowi tegas, perseteruan antara Polri dan KPK bisa cepat selesai dan tidak akan terjadi lagi. "Jokowi... Anda presiden, bertindaklah sebagai presiden. Jangan mengaku presiden, tapi mencla-mencle dan tidak berani. Kasus ini kecil, kasus BG kecil. Kalau presiden punya nyali," ujar Rizal di Bundaran Hotel Indonesia, Minggu (22/2/2015). Hal tersebut diucapkan Rizal dalam orasinya pada aksi "Save KPK" di lokasi car free day. Masih dalam orasinya, Rizal juga mengusulkan agar penyidik KPK diangkat menjadi pegawai tetap KPK. Penyidik KPK, kata Rizal, banyak yang berasal dari pegawai kepolisian dan kejaksaan. Status ini membuat penyidik menjadi sungkan untuk menyidik atasannya yang berasal dari institusi Polri. Dengan menetapkan penyidik KPK sebagai pegawai tetap KPK, maka penyidikan kasus yang melibatkan institusi Polri maupun kejaksaan tidak akan terhambat lagi. "Biar mereka berani," ujar Rizal. Selain menjelaskan hal-hal itu, Rizal juga menceritakan mengenai sebuah lukisan yang terpasang di rumahnya. Lukisan tersebut sekaligus menjadi pesan dia kepada masyarakat Indonesia dalam melihat kasus KPK Polri ini. Lukisan yang diceritakan Rizal berisi gambar sebuah anak yang membawa buku. Rizal mengatakan, lukisan itu menunjukkan anak Indonesia yang harus terus menuntut ilmu. Rizal melanjutkan, di atas gambar anak itu terdapat balon berwarna merah putih yang membubung ke angkasa. Sehingga, kata Rizal, anak Indonesia juga harus terbang tinggi dengan pendidikannya. "Tetapi, kaki anak itu diikat. Satu, dengan feodalisme, sehingga mereka susah maju. Kedua, diikat dengan KKN, jadi anak enggak bisa terbang tinggi," ujar Rizal. "Jadi, saatnya kita potong feodalisme dan KKN agar anak Indonesia bisa terbang tinggi," tambah Rizal. Presiden Jokowi sendiri sudah mengambil sikap dalam menyikapi polemik antara Polri dan KPK. Misalnya, Jokowi batal melantik Komisaris Jenderal Budi Gunawan sebagai kepala Polri. Presiden memutuskan mengusulkan calon baru, yakni Komisaris Jenderal Badrodin Haiti yang kini menjabat Wakil Kepala Polri. (Baca: Batal Lantik Budi Gunawan, Jokowi Usulkan Badrodin Haiti Calon Kapolri) Selain itu, Jokowi juga menunjuk tiga orang sebagai pimpinan baru di Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi. Ketiga orang tersebut adalah mantan Ketua KPK Taufiequrachman Ruki, akademisi Universitas Indonesia Indriyanto Seno Adji, dan Deputi Pencegahan KPK Johan Budi SP.

Take a tour of the medieval fortified city. Intramuros, in Philippine colonial history, was the original Manila. The Spaniards first landed here in 1571 and conquered this area, that was once a center of trade for Asian goods. It will take you an entire day, or longer, to discover Intramuros. Intramuros, which means inside the walls, used to be the political, cultural and commercial center of the Spaniards in the East. To ward off invaders, the Spaniards built the wall to protect the area. Intramuros housed Fort Santiago, the headquarters for colonizers from the Spaniards, the Americas, the Japanese, until the Philippine Independence in 1946. The Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, was incarcerated in Fort Santiago. And in his prison cell he wrote his famous poem, Mi último Adiós, before being executed by musketry. Shelling in 1945 destroyed the city beyond recognition. However, bit by bit, Intramuros was reconstructed and has recaptured its historic past. This is Baluarte de San Diego, the oldest fortification in Intramuros. Now it is favorite spot among students and visitors. There are several schools inside Intramuros, including Letran, which was established in 1620. The present Manila Cathedral, built in 1954, resembled the old design and captured the beauty of the old churches in Intramuros. The Palcio del gobernador actually sits in the original spot of the old Spanish government building. Although modernization is inevitable, Intramuros is one of the best places to witness Manila's past. I am Roselyn Cantos, showing you Manila.

Also if there is a lot of vehicle traffic in that city from Jeepney buses, motorbikes, trucks and cars. Locals often inflate prices for foreigners and tourists. Haggle and negotiate nicely. Be firm and confident, but always be respectful and polite. Shop around, you can often get a better price. Ask around about local fair pricing for things you want to do. "Tip" can also mean bribe, so don't be afraid to ask what you're paying for upfront. Locals often do things to try help you, but then expect a tip. The average basic worker earns PHP200 - 300 a day. So tipping PHP 20 - 50 is fine. Tanjay City, is a fourth class city in the province of Negros Oriental. It is located 30 kilometres north of Dumaguete City, and is bounded on the north by Bais City.
