Brahmā is the Hindu god (deva) of creation and one of the Trimurti, the others being Vishnu and Shiva. According to the Brahma Purana, he is the father of Manu, and from Manu all human beings are descended. In the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, he is often referred to as the progenitor or great grandsire of all human beings. He is not to be confused with the Supreme Cosmic Spirit in Hindu Vedānta philosophy known as Brahman, which is genderless. Brahmā's wife is Saraswati. Saraswati is also known by names such as Sāvitri and Gayatri, and has taken different forms throughout history. Brahmā is often identified with Prajapati, a Vedic deity. Being the husband of Saraswati or Vaac Devi (the Goddess of Speech), Brahma is also known as "Vaagish," meaning "Lord of Speech and Sound." Brahma is als...

There are many Hindus who are strictly vegetarian. They think it is against their religion to consume non-vegetarian food. But the true fact is that the Hindu scriptures permit a person to have meat. The scriptures mention Hindu sages and saints consuming non-vegetarian food. It is mentioned in Manu Smruti, the law book of Hindus, in chapter 5 verse 30 "The eater who eats the flesh of those to be eaten does nothing bad, even if he does it day after day, for God himself created some to be eaten and some to be eater." Again next verse of Manu Smruti, that is, chapter 5 verse 31 says "Eating meat is right for the sacrifice, this is traditionally known as a rule of the gods." Further in Manu Smruti chapter 5 verse 39 and 40 says "God himself created sacrificial animals for sacrifice, ...., ...

Division Hinduism perceives time as cyclical based on our own experience of days and nights. We see this cyclical pattern in all divisions of time from days to epochs. Time is a never ending cyclical process which is both repetetive and exhaustive. In a sense time is limited. In another it is eternal. from a spiritual perspective time exists when we are in a state of duality, but disappears when we enter into a state of unity or samadhi. Each time cycle has three components, sristhti or creation, sthithi or continuation and laya or dissolution. They are under the control of the trinity namely Brahma, Vishnu and Siva. We can see the same divisions in a day also, In life we see them as childhood, adulthood and oldage. The Hindu calculation of time comes to us from the sage Ganita. He calculat...
The Manusmriti (or "Laws of Manu", Sanskrit Manusmṛti मनुस्मृति; also known as Mānava-Dharmaśāstra मानवधर्मशास्त्र), is the most important and earliest metrical work of the Dharmaśāstra textual tradition of Hinduism.[1] The text presents itself as a discourse given by Manu, the progenitor of mankind to a group of seers, or rishis, who beseech him to tell them the "law of all the social classes" (1.2). Manu became the standard point of reference for all future Dharmaśāstras that followed it. According to Hindu tradition, the Manusmriti records the words of Brahma.[2] The Sanskrit text was edited in 1913 by P.H. Pandya and in 1920 by J.R. Gharpure. The text was first translated into English (from manuscripts) in 1794 by Sir William Jones.
