Guy-Concordia is a station on the Green Line of the Montreal Metro rapid transit system operated by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM). It is downtown in the borough of Ville-Marie in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The station opened on October 14, 1966, as part of the original network of the Metro. It has consistently been one of the network's busiest stations, ranking 5th in 2000, 2001, 4th from 2002 to 2007, and 3rd since 2008.
Before the station underwent renovations, the walls on the platform where covered in an orange-brown glazed tile pattern that still covers some of the walls in the access areas. These tile were replaced with a more modern style glazed ceramic white tiles, multicolored tile mosaics over the seats, and white stone floors.
Designed by J.A. Chicoine, it is a normal side platform station, built in tunnel with a transept, ticket hall, and access at each end. The eastern access contains shops and services, and an underground city connection to five Concordia University buildings: EV, MB, GM, LB and H buildings.
Gouais blanc (French pronunciation: [ɡu.ɛ blɑ̃]) or Weißer Heunisch (German pronunciation: [ˈvaɪsɐ ˈhɔʏnɪʃ]) is a white grape variety that is seldom grown today but is important as the ancestor of many traditional French and German grape varieties. The name Gouais derives from the old French adjective ‘gou’, a term of derision befitting its traditional status as the grape of the peasants. Likewise, the German name Weißer Heunisch labels it as one the lesser, Hunnic grapes.
Gouais is known to have been widely planted in central and northeastern France in Medieval times. At this time, it was used to produce simple, acidic white wines, and were primarily grown in less good plots that were not suited for the much more highly regarded Pinot noir or Pinot gris. Gouais Blanc was thus the grape of the peasantry rather than of the nobility.
Its history before Medieval times is not known with any certainty, but is the subject of much conjecture, in similarity to many other grape varieties with a long history. Gouais blanc has been proposed as a candidate for the grape given to the Gauls by Marcus Aurelius Probus (Roman Emperor 276–282), who was from Pannonia and who overturned Domitian's decree banning grape growing north of the Alps. Another hypothesis claims it originates specifically in Croatia (or Pannonia), but the Vitis International Variety Catalogue currently lists it as originating from Austria, which should probably be interpreted as "likely to originate somewhere in Central Europe".
Comet Arend–Roland was discovered on November 8, 1956, by Belgian astronomers Sylvain Arend and Georges Roland on photographic plates. As the eighth comet found in 1956, it was named Arend–Roland 1956h after its discoverers. Because it was the third comet to pass through perihelion during 1957, it was then renamed 1957 III. Finally, it received the standard IAU designation C/1956 R1 (Arend–Roland), with the 'C/' indicating it was a non-periodic comet and the R1 showing it was the first comet reported as discovered in the half-month designated by R. The last is equivalent to the period September 1–15.
In November 1956, a double astrograph at the Uccle Observatory in Brussels was being used for routine investigation of minor planets. On November 8, 1956, the Belgian astronomers Sylvain Arend and Georges Roland discovered a comet on their photographic plates. At that time the comet was at visual magnitude 10, with a strong central condensation and a short tail. The early discovery of this comet allowed observing programs and equipment to be prepared well in advance.
I came home to a house without you
The air was stale, the walls were bare
But somehow I still knew, that you were there
I wanna see you more
I miss your company
I wish that things were still
The way they used to be
The phone call at 3am
To come and pick me up
Was i born to be a ballet dancer, or an astronaut
If I needed to talk, you would make the time for me
I wish that things were still
The way they used to be
But only for a day
Just so I can say
That I remembered you
Because I wouldn't be the same
If anything was changed
And thats the truth
I wanna see you more
I miss your company
I wish that things were still
The way they used to be
I wanna see you more
I miss your company
I wish that things were still
The way they used to be
But only for a day
Just so I could say
That I remembered you
But only for a day
The way they used to be
But only for a day
