    • Collingwood and Hawthorn are the last of the strong Vic teams. Richmond gone. Carlton gone. Essendon gone - these teams relied on buying the best talent, cheating and rorting of the salary cap or banned substances. They are the dinosaurs of the AFL.

      • it may not have worked for Essendon but you have to hand it to Carlton - they succeeded in "winning" a grand final by cheating! No-one takes much notice of the little * next to that year in the history pages!

      • Umm please tell me the last VFL/ AFL team not to "buy" a Premiership. People need to think before talking rubbish. The game has been professional for years was semi professional in the early 70s. Then if you want to go back to the amateur era clubs who won flags recruited players by offering good employment. Prospects. Nice try though

      • Saint Mathew. Carlton have 16 Premierships in the Cabinent deal with it. Stop the sooking, Carlton, Essendon, Collingwood, Geelong etc could of splintered years ago to create the AFL and left your Saints in the VFL but instead supported a salary cap and a draft system. Your Saints benefitted by many number 1 and early draft picks. The strong clubs did all they could to help the Saints win flag number 2 and still your mob failed. Focus on where your saints keep going wrong ahead of other clubs

Very poor tigers, fancy letting down a legend in front of his grieving family, very poor show, but how typical of the toothless tigers form.

        • Maybe Melbourne are becoming a better team each week under Roos. I'm sure the Tiges gave thier all, anyway if it takes a Death for a team to play its best to win a game, it says little about the players. Credit to Roos, the Dees have brought into his game plan and they are improving
