Crown glass is a type of optical glass used in lenses and other optical components. It has relatively low refractive index and low dispersion. Crown glass is produced from alkali-lime silicates containing approximately 10% potassium oxide and is one of the earliest low dispersion glasses.
As well as the specific material named crown glass, there are other optical glasses with similar properties that are also called crown glasses. Generally, this is any glass with Abbe numbers in the range 50 to 85. For example, the borosilicate glass Schott BK7 is an extremely common crown glass, used in precision lenses. Borosilicates contain about 10% boric oxide, have good optical and mechanical characteristics, and are resistant to chemical and environmental damage. Other additives used in crown glasses include zinc oxide, phosphorus pentoxide, barium oxide, fluorite and lanthanum oxide.

The glass is melted in special pots and furnaces, stirred after founding, and allowed to cool in situ. When cold it is broken up and examined. Defective glass is rejected, and the good glass is molded into slabs, prisms or lenses, and finally annealed. Optical glass has to conform to a rigorous specification. It must have certain specified optical constants, must be free from striae, bubble, strain, and color, and must be durable. Lenses and prisms, used in microscopes, telescopes and other optical instruments, are only as good as their glass. Optical-quality glass must be flawless. Even tiny flecks, streaks, or bubbles can cause distortion. During World War II, optical glass was in great demand, and making it was a slow, crude process. The ingredients were put in ceramic pots, melted, stirred, then cooled. Only about 10 percent of the glass was usable. What does lens index mean?
The word "index" refers to a materials refraction index: the way light bends as it passes through the material.
Different lens materials have different ways of bending the light. As the index increases, the ability to bend light increases.
Standard crown glass which was used for almost all glasses in the past has an index of 1.52. The modern plastic materials have indexes between 1.50 and 1.74.
Lenses get thicker as they get more powerful. Higher index lenses can help you have thinner lenses, even if you have a strong prescription.
1.50 Index lenses are fine for low prescriptions, but get thick quickly as prescription increases.
You may choose a mid-index lens, such as a 1.6 index lens, if you have a prescription that is medium strength.
For very strong prescriptions, high index lenses, such as 1.67 or 1.74 index, will reduce the weight and thickness of the lens.
Lens material characteristics also vary. Some lens materials are less appropriate for semi rimless and rimless frames, for instance.
The advantage of higher index lenses is that they are lighter and thinner. Thin lenses are associated with a more elegant look, whereas thick lenses often denote less of a sense for style.

Defective glass is rejected, and the good glass is molded into slabs, prisms or lenses, and finally annealed. Optical glass has to conform to a rigorous specification. It must have certain specified optical constants, must be free from striae, bubble, strain, and color, and must be durable. Lenses and prisms, used in microscopes, telescopes and other optical instruments, are only as good as their glass. Optical-quality glass must be flawless. Even tiny flecks, streaks, or bubbles can cause distortion. During World War II, optical glass was in great demand, and making it was a slow, crude process. The ingredients were put in ceramic pots, melted, stirred, then cooled. Only about 10 percent of the glass was usable. This is clipped from the 1944 film - To Greater Vision - made by the Bausch and Lomb Optical Company. The entire film shows the manufacture of glass for optical instruments and eyewear used in industry and war and explains how eyes are treated and faulty vision is corrected. What does lens index mean?
The word "index" refers to a materials refraction index: the way light bends as it passes through the material.
Different lens materials have different ways of bending the light. As the index increases, the ability to bend light increases.
Standard crown glass which was used for almost all glasses in the past has an index of 1.52. The modern plastic materials have indexes between 1.50 and 1.74.
Lenses get thicker as they get more powerful. Higher index lenses can help you have thinner lenses, even if you have a strong prescription.
1.50 Index lenses are fine for low prescriptions, but get thick quickly as prescription increases.
You may choose a mid-index lens, such as a 1.6 index lens, if you have a prescription that is medium strength.
For very strong prescriptions, high index lenses, such as 1.67 or 1.74 index, will reduce the weight and thickness of the lens.
Lens material characteristics also vary. Some lens materials are less appropriate for semi rimless and rimless frames, for instance.
The advantage of higher index lenses is that they are lighter and thinner. Thin lenses are associated with a more elegant look, whereas thick lenses often denote less of a sense for style.

There is still allot of work to be done, but the major work is complete and the car is ready to be registered, titled, and inspected. Items remaining thus far are:
- Replace all upper and lower ball joints
- Replace both front anti-sway bar end links
- Re-install left and right plastic rocker molding after sourcing new fasteners
- Order and install new driver's side parking/side marker lens assembly
- Add one more can of R-134a refrigerant
- Swap both head light assemblies with those of the wrecked car
- Swap rear axle and drive shaft assembly
- Diagnose and repair ABS warning light
- Swap all brake calipers and bleed system
- Swap trunk weather seal and carpeting assembly with that from the wrecked car
- Swap tail light lenses, stationary glass, dew wipes, and other outside rubber components with those usable from the wrecked car
- Diagnose and repair both rear power window mechanisms
- Diagnose and repair rear radio speakers
- More repairs as they are discovered during shake down period

But what it really means?
Well Im sure you saw lot of videos with „ASMR“ in title. There is milions of videos made intentionally to trigger ASMR. It can be anything. Someone likes listening to soft voice, someone like listening to cracking with plastic bags, someone just feel relaxed watching Bob Ross painting, somene like watching as someone making something from wood. If you feel „tingles“ when listening or watching to something we can says It trigger your asmr. There is lot of people that listening to asmr when have anxiety, stressful day or when studying.
Triggers of ASMR
It is really individual for everyone, but there is the most common triggers that can be also found on this channel.
The most common audio triggers are for sure relaxing whispering or soft speaking and tapping. Also very popular is crinkles, water sounds, mouth sounds, inaudible whispering, keyboard typing, page turning and others.
There is also lot of visual triggers that can trigger your asmr.
It can be drawing, painting. Watching someone giving massage or rub someone's back, playing with hair, ears, hands.
You can find lot of roleplays of medical examinations. Ear, eyes, scalp examinations are most common.
Also listening to language that you dont know is great trigger.

You can use fishing line to help you remove the glass especially on shattered screen, but it must be thin.
For those having glare issues, please make sure you remove all the protective plastic on the inside of the glass when it comes new. Some glass ships with 2 protective layers of protection on the inside. Like I said SOME come this way not all so just check. I personally have never had a glare issue going outside with replacement glass.
