John Joseph Bishop (born 30 November 1966) is an English comedian and actor, who is also known for his charity work, having raised £4.2m for Sport Relief 2012.
A keen footballer, Bishop played for non-league teams Hyde and Southport and worked as a pharmaceutical Rep prior to becoming a stand-up comedian. His television debut came on The Panel. He has subsequently appeared in the E4 teen drama Skins (seasons 3-4) and in the Ken Loach film Route Irish in addition to his own shows including John Bishop's Britain (2010–2011), John Bishop's Only Joking (2013) and The John Bishop Show (2015–present).
Bishop also had a regular Sunday slot on Liverpool radio station Radio City 96.7 called Bishop's Sunday Service.
Bishop was born at Mill Road Maternity Hospital in Liverpool, Merseyside, the son of Kathleen "Kathy" (née Hackett) and Edward E. Bishop. He grew up mostly in Winsford, Cheshire and Runcorn, Cheshire, and attended Murdishaw West Primary School and Brookvale High School after he and his family moved from Huyton, Merseyside. He briefly studied English at Newcastle Polytechnic and gained a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Manchester Polytechnic.

Plot: In Dallas, when the two prime witnesses against the drug-lord Octavio Perez are murdered by his gangsters in a safe-house, the testimony of the FBI agent Kate Jensen and three other agents become the only chance to keep the criminal in prison. They are lodged in another safe-house to wait for the trial, but the place is invaded by the criminals and the agents are executed. However, Kate is only wounded and her boyfriend Nick believes there is a traitor in the agency and decides to bring her to his ranch in the country to protect her life with his reliable local friends.

Plot: Big Eden is a tiny fictional town in northwestern Montana, as Preston Sturges or Frank Capra might have envisioned it. Timber and Cowboy country. Plot: Ex-Marshal McCloud now is senator of New Mexico, fighting for a new environment law. His enemy is Maitland, unscrupulous owner of Chemtel, the world's most important chemical manufacturer. Plot: After a group of young revolutionaries break into a company's corporate headquarters and steal $5,000,000 worth of heroin to keep it off the street, they call on San Francisco Police Lieutenant Virgil Tibbs for assistance. Plot: Framed for a stagecoach accident, John Bishop is jailed. Bob Leady helps break him out and in return John heads for Sonoora to look for Leady's missing son. He finds him when he joins Monte black's gang, a gang from which no member has ever escaped alive.
