This Financial Services Guide ("FSG") has been authorised and issued by InvestSMART Publishing Pty Ltd (ABN 12 108 915 233) (“InvestSMART Publishing”) to Eureka Report Pty Ltd ("ER", "we", "us", "our") to assist you in deciding whether to use any of our services, offered on Eureka Report or otherwise. It contains information about remuneration that may be paid to us and about how we will deal with complaints.

The key information is set out in the answers to the questions below.

You are entitled to ask us what type of advice we may provide, what are the applicable charges for our services, how ER representatives are remunerated, any conflicts of interest we may have and what are your rights if you have a complaint about our services.

What is Eureka Report?

Eureka Report is authorised by InvestSMART Publishing which is an Australian Financial Services Licensee, License No 282288 and is an online information service published by ER, which provides general financial and investment advice for independent investors, available by subscription, via the website: www.eurekareport.com.au

What kind of financial services does ER (Eureka Report) offer?

ER is authorised to provide general financial product advice in relation to the following financial products:

  • Deposit and Payment Products
  • Derivatives
  • Government Debentures, Stocks or Bonds
  • Managed Investment Schemes, including IDPS
  • Retirement Savings Account Products
  • Securities
  • Superannuation

to retail and wholesale clients.

ER's main business is research and publication of information relating to finance and investment. While ER does not provide personal advice, we do publish information to investors on Eureka Report about our general views on financial products and markets. The website www.eurekareport.com.au is able to provide you with the following information:

  • research reports on ASX listed securities;
  • research reports on managed funds;
  • commentary on the Australian and global financial markets;
  • commentary on corporate and financial events and transactions in the Australian and global financial markets; and
  • commentary on investment products, strategies and issues.

The information and advice we provide is provided on behalf of ER and does not constitute personal investment advice. The advice we provide through Eureka Report has been prepared without taking into account your particular objectives, financial situation or needs.

If you are seeking to acquire a specific financial product or security, you should obtain a copy of and consider, the Product Disclosure Statement ("PDS") or Prospectus for that product before making any decision about whether to acquire the product. The PDS will include detailed information about the financial product including features, benefits, costs and any cooling off rights that are applicable.

How does ER (Eureka Report) get paid?

Eureka Report is a subscription-based service. A fixed subscription fee is payable when you subscribe to Eureka Report, (the amount depending on the type of subscription and length of time of your subscription). Current subscription fees are provided on the website, https://www.eurekareport.com.au/become-member-eureka-report-today or contact us by mail or telephone.

Eureka Report also receives income from advertising on the site. This is predominantly from enterprises purchasing advertising space to market their products to our subscribers, which is independent from any of the editorial content. There are also occasions where an enterprise will sponsor specific content on the site; however this only relates to factual information and not advice in relation to dealing with this enterprise. ER does not receive any other fees, commissions or benefits for Eureka Report.

All representatives of ER receive a salary. They may also receive performance-based bonuses which are based on profitability, the number of subscribers and subscription renewal rates. No employee is entitled to any other fees, commissions or benefits in relation to Eureka Report.

You may request particulars of the remuneration or other benefits but that the request must be made within a reasonable time after you receive this FSG and before any financial service identified in this FSG is provided to you.

How does ER manage potential conflicts of interest?

ER has implemented extensive policies and procedures to mitigate the risk of conflicts of interest. Members of our editorial team are encouraged to express independent views and opinions on the topics they write about. This is established through ongoing training, external audits and our conflict of interest, staff trading and gift and benefits policies. Our ER representatives are encouraged to serve the best interests of our subscribers, without consideration of any commercial or personal interests.

ER has a strict conflicts of interest policy. All ER representatives must disclose any holdings of financial products or securities as well as any relationships including employment relationships which they may have which may influence their decisions about an investment. While they are not prohibited from commenting on financial products in which they have an interest, such interests are recorded and appropriately disclosed in our publications. ER representatives will also appropriately disclose any related commercial dealings or employment relationships where applicable.

ER is 100% owned by Australasian Wealth Investments Limited.

Who can I complain to if I have a complaint about ER's advisory service?

We try to adhere to the highest standards of conduct at all times. Nevertheless, we understand there may be times when you would like to make a complaint about our services. If you have a complaint about the service provided to you, please take one of the following steps:

We will try to resolve the complaint as soon as possible, but it will be resolved within 45 days or it will be referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service ("FOS"), a dispute resolution scheme which is authorised to deal with complaints in the financial and investment industry.

You may also contact FOS to deal with complaints. ER is a member of FOS (Membership Number: 31790). FOS will facilitate discussions and negotiations between the parties to help reach agreement and provide an independent adjudicator if necessary. There is no fee to subscribers for this service. FOS can be telephoned on 1300 78 08 08 and its website is http://www.fos.org.au/.

Details of compensation arrangements

Eureka Report can provide compensation via its own resources or through its Professional Indemnity Insurance policy with Chubb Insurance Company of Australia Limited which covers claims in relation to representatives and employees after they leave ER. This policy complies with the requirements for compensation arrangements under s912B of the Corporations Act 2001.
