2 Unlimited

2 Unlimited is a dance project founded in 1991 by Belgian producers Jean-Paul DeCoster and Phil Wilde and fronted by Dutch rapper Ray Slijngaard and Dutch vocalist Anita Doth. During five years of enormous worldwide popularity, the act scored 16 chart hits, including "Get Ready for This", "Twilight Zone", "No Limit", and "Tribal Dance". During their career, they have sold 18 million records worldwide. Although they enjoyed less mainstream recognition in the United States, many of their songs have become popular themes at US sporting events, particularly in the NHL.

History

Formation

Jean-Paul DeCoster and Phil Wilde met in their hometown of Antwerp, Belgium, and their first collaboration under the name of Bizz Nizz resulted in a single called "Don't Miss The Party Line" which entered the top 10 in the UK. The two then decided to continue to work together.

Jean Paul de Coster and Phil Wilde initially had created an instrumental track they called "Get Ready for This" and they decided that it needed some vocals. De Coster recalls:

Pin-Up Went Down

Pin-Up Went Down is a French avant-garde metal band formed in 2006. The band consists of the two brothers Alexis and Nicolas Damien. Alexis plays the majority of the instruments and is the sole composer of the band.

Their music is a metal sound, associated many various styles like pop, funk, symphonic, gospel, progressive or psychedelic. Their two albums have received unanimously good reviews from metal review sites and the specialized press.

History

Pin-Up Went Down is the project of Alexis Damien, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist also known for the bands Carnival in Coal and Wormfood, originally as the name of Esthete Piggie. He his soon joined by vocalist Asphodel from Penumbra, Howdy Effect and Nowonmai.

2 Unlimited was released on 28 March 2008. Two years later the second album, 342, was released on 28 June 2010, with the addition of Damien's brother Nicolas, who plays all the piano and keyboards but also a part of guitars.

On January 22, 2014, the lead singer Asphodel announced her departure from the project.
