The Lab LA is our weekly post-work party where we stream the finest American and international DJs from the terrace of Mixmag’s Hollywood office. This Friday we bring you KiNK and Ricoshëi.
KiNK is a widely-respected producer currently working in house music. His live sets and productions have captured fans and led him on multiple world tours, cementing his place as one of the most in-demand artists of the moment. This special DJ set in the Lab: LA comes ahead of a KiNK's North American tour.
He will be joined by LA-based lush house duo Ricoshëi. Nikko Gibler and Jake Patrick are well known for their ability to step it up and keep a crowd going and have plied their trade at the biggest clubs and festivals in the US including Coachella, SXSW and Lollapalooza, where they headlined the Palladia Stage. The boys have been climbing the ranks rapidly in 2014 and hit club charts with their single 'Perfect Like You', released on DJ Koze’s Pampa Records.

KiNK's performances are a middle finger to live dance music's naysayers. The Bulgarian house artist shows the broad possibilities of the form by playing his assorted setup with the skill of a seasoned musician. Strahil Velchev's style blends DJ tricks with keyboard and controller manipulation. He also likes to involve the crowd, encouraging dancers in the front row to smash out patterns on his Novation Launchpad. It's one of the reasons he's been a permanent fixture in our best live acts poll in recent years. Velchev has a deep well of killer club tracks—"Bitter Sweet," "Detunator," "E79," "Express" etc—but when he stopped by RA's London HQ he combined "Source Of Uncertainty," a new track from his forthcoming debut album, with a stretch of improvisation. The resulting Session showed Velchev deep in his element.

This special DJ set in the Lab: LA comes ahead of a KiNK's North American tour.
He will be joined by LA-based lush house duo Ricoshëi. Nikko Gibler and Jake Patrick are well known for their ability to step it up and keep a crowd going and have plied their trade at the biggest clubs and festivals in the US including Coachella, SXSW and Lollapalooza, where they headlined the Palladia Stage. The boys have been climbing the ranks rapidly in 2014 and hit club charts with their single 'Perfect Like You', released on DJ Koze’s Pampa Records.

KiNK's performances are a middle finger to live dance music's naysayers. The Bulgarian house artist shows the broad possibilities of the form by playing his assorted setup with the skill of a seasoned musician. Strahil Velchev's style blends DJ tricks with keyboard and controller manipulation. He also likes to involve the crowd, encouraging dancers in the front row to smash out patterns on his Novation Launchpad. It's one of the reasons he's been a permanent fixture in our best live acts poll in recent years. Velchev has a deep well of killer club tracks—"Bitter Sweet," "Detunator," "E79," "Express" etc—but when he stopped by RA's London HQ he combined "Source Of Uncertainty," a new track from his forthcoming debut album, with a stretch of improvisation. The resulting Session showed Velchev deep in his element.
