In Hainan, a woman, identified by her surname Chen, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on September 21st. She delivered her child in the maternity ward of the Wanning People’s Hospital.
After giving birth, Ms. Chen kept feeling sharp pains in her abdomen and made frequent visits to the bathroom. Sometimes the pain would be so bad she’d break out in a cold sweat.
Doctors and nurses dismissed her concerns, even outright refusing to give her a check up. One doctor even scolded her and told her that he’d never had a patient who was so fussy.
So Ms. Chen took her baby girl home with her, but the pains and the frequent need to pee didn’t go away. In fact, it got worse and she also began to suffer from vaginal discharge and her urine took on a strange smell.
Finally, on the first of this month, when doing her business on the toilet Ms. Chen was shocked to see that she had passed a 5 cm piece of gauze that was covered in blood clots and other indescribable disgusting things.
She took a picture of it and wrapped the gauze in a plastic bag. Ms. Chen took the bag back to the hospital and demanded they run tests.
A nurse was shocked but then told her, it was a good thing she’d peed out the vile gauzy thing.
Ms. Chen is planning to sue the hospital as she is worried about additional complications resulting from having a piece of gauze stuck inside for over a month.

Gauze
Gauze is a thin, translucent fabric with a loose open weave. In technical terms "gauze" is a weave structure in which the weft yarns are arranged in pairs and are crossed before and after each warp yarn keeping the weft firmly in place. This weave structure is used to add stability to fabric, which is important when using fine yarns loosely spaced. However, this weave structure can be used with any weight of yarn, and can be seen in some rustic textiles made from coarse hand-spun plant fiber yarns.
Etymology and history
Gauze was traditionally woven in Palestine and the English word is said to derive from the place name for Gaza (Arabic: غزة ghazza), a center of weaving in the region. Despite a prohibition on trade with non-Christians from religious authorities in medieval Europe, a fine type of silk known as gazzatum was imported from Gaza as early as the 13th century. Though members of religious orders in Europe were forbidden to wear it, the fabric won a place for itself and emerged into modern life as gauze.

In Hainan, a woman, identified by her surname Chen, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on September 21st. She delivered her child in the maternity ward of the Wanning People’s Hospital.
After giving birth, Ms. Chen kept feeling sharp pains in her abdomen and made frequent visits to the bathroom. Sometimes the pain would be so bad she’d break out in a cold sweat.
Doctors and nurses dismissed her concerns, even outright refusing to give her a check up. One doctor even scolded her and told her that he’d never had a patient who was so fussy.
So Ms. Chen took her baby girl home with her, but the pains and the frequent need to pee didn’t go away. In fact, it got worse and she also began to suffer from vaginal discharge and her urine took on a strange smell.
Finally, on the first of this month, when doing her business on the toilet Ms. Chen was shocked to see that she had passed a 5 cm piece of gauze that was covered in blood clots and other indescribable disgusting things.
She took a picture of it and wrapped the gauze in a plastic bag. Ms. Chen took the bag back to the hospital and demanded they run tests.
A nurse was shocked but then told her, it was a good thing she’d peed out the vile gauzy thing.
Ms. Chen is planning to sue the hospital as she is worried about additional complications resulting from having a piece of gauze stuck inside for over a month.
