Vetrivel

Vetrivel is an upcoming Tamil film written and directed by Vasantha Mani. The film features M. Sasikumar and Miya George in the lead roles. The film's music will be composed by D. Imman and the cinematography is handled by S. R. Kathir.

Newcomer director Vasantha Mani revealed that he was working on the script of a film featuring Jai, Sasikumar and Samuthirakani during December 2014. By May 2015, he revealed that Jai did not sign the project and they were looking for a new actor to portray the role written for him instead. In early September 2015, after finishing work on Bala's Tharai Thappattai (2016), Sasikumar confirmed he would work on the project titled Vetrivel and an official launch was held. The film began production during September 2015 at Tanjore and completed a month long schedule, which ended early as a result of the 2015 Nadigar Sangam elections.Miya George revealed that she was working on the film during December 2015, and noted that she would portray the character of Malayali girl in the film.

Anant Nag

Anant Nagarkatte (born 4 September 1948) popularly known as Anant Nag, is an actor from Karnataka, India. He is considered one of Kannada cinema's finest actors. As a result, he is popularly known as an actor with no-failures, by critics. In addition to Kannada movies, he has acted in Marathi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi movies. He has also acted in Malgudi Days, directed by his younger brother Shankar Nag based on the stories by R. K. Narayan. His work was much appreciated by critics at that time. He is fluent in Kannada, Konkani, Marathi, Hindi. The versatile natural acting coupled with the style of speaking (southern Kannada accent with a coastal touch) made him one of the most successful actors in Kannada cinema.

Early life

Anant Nag was born on 4 September 1948 to Anandi and Sadanand Nagarkatte in the Uttara Kannada district of the Kingdom of Mysore (present-day Karnataka). He is from a konkani speaking family. He grew up in Shirali, a village near Bhatkal in Uttara Kannada. He had his early education under the aegis of Ananda Ashrama in Dakshina Kannada district and Chitrapura Matha in Uttara Kannada. He was sent to Bombay (now Mumbai) for further education. This was when he was drawn towards the theatre movement of Bombay and he was selected to act in Konkani, Kannada and Marathi plays which he did until he turned 22.

Miya George

Gimi George, better known by her stage name Miya, is an Indian actress and model. She started her career as an actress by playing supporting roles in television soaps. She made her film debut by playing short roles in the films Doctor Love and Ee Adutha Kaalathu. She was selected the Kerala Miss Fitness in 2012 and played her first lead role the same year in the Malayalam film Chettayees.

Early life and education

Miya was born in 1992 as the second daughter of George and Mini in a Christian family at Dombivili in Mumbai, Maharashtra, where her father worked as an engineer. Later, at the age of five, she moved to Palai in Kottayam. She did her schooling from Sacred Heart Girls High School, Bharananganam and St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Bharananganam. She completed B.A. degree from Pala Alphonsa College and is currently doing her Masters in Communicative English at St. Thomas College, Pala. She has one elder sister, Gini, who is married and settled in Saudi Arabia.

Thambi Ramaiah

Thambi Ramaiah is an Indian film actor and director who works in the Tamil film industry. He directed the film Indiralohathil Na Azhagappan starring Vadivelu; his performance in Mynaa won a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. Ramaiah has also worked occasionally as a lyricist.

Career

Thambi Ramaiah was born in Rarapuram village in Pudukkottai, and initially entered the film industry hoping to become a screenwriter. His father was a poet and a fiction writer and his mother was a housewife, while Ramaiah was their eldest child. He earned pocket money during his school days by writing love letters for his classmates. He also had an interest in lyric writing, often writing lyrics for parody versions of popular songs, while becoming trained in various instruments including the harmonium and guitar. At the age of 20, he moved to Chennai and tried to make a breakthrough into the film industry, but was hindered by his lack of contacts and instead worked for a private company for nine years. He got a break in 1994 and took up a job as a dialogue writer for a serial on Sun TV, doubling up as an assistant director, script writer and lyricist. He then earned opportunities to work as an assistant director in films directed by T. Rajender and P. Vasu, and he considers the latter his teacher of screenplay-writing. He made a cameo acting appearance in Vasu's film Malabar Police (1999) in a scene featuring Goundamani. The following year, he made his directorial début with Manu Needhi (2000), which starred Murali and Napolean in the lead roles. He carried on playing supporting roles in films as well as writing comedy tracks, also directing the Vadivelu-starrer Indiralohathil Na Azhagappan (2008).

D. Imman

Immanuel Vasanth Dinakaran, better known as D. Imman, is an Indian film composer and singer, predominantly working in the Tamil film industry. His first film as music director was Thamizhan in 2002. Since then he has composed music for more than 25 films.

Early and personal life

Imman was born in Chennai, India. He is the son of J. David Kirubakkara Dass, who was a teacher. Imman started playing music at a very early age. His early years were spent in Chennai and he subsequently attended Don Bosco, Egmore, Chennai and later Pachaiyappa's College. He received his Master's degree from the University of Madras.

Married to Monica Richard on 24 April 2008, D. Imman has two daughters, Veronica Dorothy Imman and Blessica Kathy Imman.
