Wanneroo Area

Within the northern reaches of Perth, Western Australia is the Wanneroo Area, otherwise known as the City of Wanneroo. This city is divided into four separate wards, and each ward is divided into suburbs, villages and districts. In its entirety, this area is home to over 160,000 people. Dating back to 1834, the first European interaction with the Wanneroo area had occurred.

The majority of the population resides in the southern, and south-western regions of the area, while the northern and eastern suburbs are quite rural in nature. The southern suburbs of the area are located roughly 25 kilometres from the central business district in Perth.

The Wanneroo Area is one of the fastest growing areas in Perth. It is also one of the most diverse regions, with over 40% of the population comprised of immigrants. Compared to less than 5% nationwide, more than 15% of Wanneroo's residents are from the United Kingdom.
