Syria: People of Al-Nasiriyah chose in favour of reconciliation - Konashenkov

Syrian residents signed an agreement on cessation of hostilities in Al-Nasiriyah, Sunday, after all the details were clarified and accepted by locals following extensive negotiations with officers of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation. Russian soldiers also distributed humanitarian aid in the form of of flour, bread, canned goods, rice and sweets for children, to local people who lined up in front of the trucks carrying relief. SOT, Major-General Igor Konashenkov, Russian Defence Ministry spokesperson (Russian): "As you can see, people made their own choice in favour of reconciliation. They appealed to the officers of our centre in the province. The negotiations were not easy, lasted long. But today all documents are signed and people returned to peaceful life." In recent days there were more than ten attacks on the government troops from the positions of Al-Nusra Front. Also six violations of the ceasefire were recorded."
