TN heading for power crisis, says BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh
TNN | Jun 9, 2016, 10.18 AM ISTTrichy: Terming the Tamil Nadu government's announcement of 100 units of free electricity to the people farcical, BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh said in Trichy on Wednesday the state would face a severe power problem soon if it did not join the central government's UDAY scheme.
"Power production is bound to be affected due to the inefficiency of the state government in saving coal.
Further, the state is indebted to many companies from which it has purchased electricity. The state government will increase the power tariff in a few months," Siddharth told the media before addressing party functionaries and cadres on two years of successful governance by the BJP at the Centre.
