Hessian Bird Tree Ornament You will need... * 15cmx10cm Hessian * 15cmx10cm Christmas Fabric * Scrap piece of Homespun * Stamping Accessories * 35cm Ribbon * Small metal bell * Template plastic * Sewing Machine & Thread * Fabric Scissors * Lead pencil Step 1: Firstly, create the word JOY from alphabet stamps and stamp onto the scrap piece of homespun. Set aside to dry. Step 2: From the template plastic, cut a bird and wing using this pattern link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/3and3quarters/11344680033/ Step 3: Using a lead pencil, trace around the bird template onto the RIGHT side of the Christmas fabric. Pin this to the hessian and carefully cut around the line with fabric scissors. Step 4: Next, thread the bell onto the ribbon, making sure the ends are even, and tie a knot at the top. Sandwich the ribbon inbetween the two pieces of fabrics and pin in place. Step 5: Lastly, trace a lead pencil line around the stamped JOY with the wing template. Cut out along the line with fabric scissors. Step 6: At the sewing machine, carefully sew along the edge of the bird cutout, taking the pins out as you go. Snip off the threads at the end. Step 7: Position the wing onto the body of the bird and pin in place. Sew around the edge and snip the threads off at the end. Step 8: Hang on the Christmas tree!! My Social Networks...
