Pink Floyd were an English rock band formed in London. They achieved international acclaim with their progressive and psychedelic music. Distinguished by their use of philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, extended compositions and elaborate live shows, they are one of the most commercially successful and musically influential groups in the history of popular music.
Pink Floyd were founded in 1965 by students Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, and Richard Wright. They gained popularity performing in London's underground music scene during the late 1960s, and under Barrett's leadership released two charting singles and a successful debut album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967). David Gilmour joined as a fifth member in December 1967; Barrett left the band in April 1968 due to deteriorating mental health. Waters became the band's primary lyricist and, by the mid-1970s, their dominant songwriter, devising the concepts behind their critically and commercially successful albums The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), The Wall (1979) and The Final Cut (1983). The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall became two of the best-selling albums of all time.
"Give Me Tonight" is a 1984 single by Shannon, an American R&B and dance artist. Released as the follow-up to her smash debut "Let the Music Play," "Give Me Tonight" was not as successful as its predecessor on the Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at #46. It did, however, receive the same enthusiastic response in the dance clubs as her previous single, hitting the top spot on the Hot Dance Club Play chart in March 1984 for two weeks. It also was a significant Urban hit, reaching #6 on the American R&B chart. The song also peaked at #24 on the UK singles chart.
In 2000 Hex Hector remixed the song and the mixes were called the "Give Me Tonight (2000 A.D. Mixes)".
"Baby I" is a song recorded by American singer Ariana Grande for her debut studio album, Yours Truly (2013). It was written by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Antonio Dixon and Patrick "J. Que" Smith and produced by the first two. The song was released by Republic Records on July 22, 2013, as the second single from the album.
In an interview with Complex, Grande reveals that "Baby I" was originally written by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds for Beyoncé. Grande also stated that it was actually Mac Miller who picked "Baby I" to be the second single for her album.
Grande opined that "Baby I" was more "sophisticated" and "mature" and showed off her musicality and vocals more than her previous hit single "The Way", which was part of what made her excited to release the song. She was revealing snippets of the song days before its release. The single was released to the digital retailer iTunes on July 22, 2013.
"Baby I" is an uptempo pop and R&B song that runs for a duration of three minutes and seventeen seconds. "Baby I" is set in common time at a tempo of 102 BPM in the key of C♯ major, and D Major after the bridge. It was written and produced by Babyface, Tony Dixon and j.Que. A writer from Rap-Up describes the track as a "summertime record" which features Grande's "big vocals" over a "breezy beat". Several critics noted the '90s R&B music influence demonstrated in "Baby I", which will also be musically present on the rest of her album, Yours Truly. Additionally, '70s disco energy is also present in the song, with PopCrush describing it as "Mariah Carey gone retro".

A book for tweens written by K.D. McCrite and part of the Confessions of April Grace series. K.D. McCrite, a native of the Ozarks, lives in Arkansas with her husband and pets, writing about a range of topics. A feisty redhead, April Grace usually speaks before she thinks and gets herself into trouble more often than not. But in the summer of 1986, her keen eyes saw what the adults did not: mischief, mayhem, thievery and lyin', cheatin', dirty-stinkin' rotten ole cowboys. Children will love the 11-going-on-12-years-old's sassy observations and spunky deeds. They will empathize with April Grace and cheer her efforts. The lesson that snap judgments and stereotypes are seldom true, comes gently, with great humor.
