A wage is monetary compensation (or remuneration, personnel expenses, labor) paid by an employer to an employee in exchange for work done. Payment may be calculated as a fixed amount for each task completed (a task wage or piece rate), or at an hourly or daily rate, or based on an easily measured quantity of work done.
Wages are an example of expenses that are involved in running a business.
Payment by wage contrasts with salaried work, in which the employer pays an arranged amount at steady intervals (such as a week or month) regardless of hours worked, with commission which conditions pay on individual performance, and with compensation based on the performance of the company as a whole. Waged employees may also receive tips or gratuity paid directly by clients and employee benefits which are non-monetary forms of compensation. Since wage labour is the predominant form of work, the term "wage" sometimes refers to all forms (or all monetary forms) of employee compensation.
Cost accounting is a task of collecting, analyzing, summarizing and evaluating various alternative courses of action. Its goal is to advise the management on the most appropriate course of action based on the cost efficiency and capability. Cost accounting provides the detailed cost information that management needs to control current operations and plan for the future.
Since managers are making decisions only for their own organization, there is no need for the information to be comparable to similar information from other organizations. Instead, information must be relevant for a particular environment. Cost accounting information is commonly used in financial accounting information, but its primary function is for use by managers to facilitate making decisions.
Unlike the accounting systems that help in the preparation of financial reports periodically, the cost accounting systems and reports are not subject to rules and standards like the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP). As a result, there is wide variety in the cost accounting systems of the different companies and sometimes even in different parts of the same company or organization.
Accounting or accountancy is the measurement, processing and communication of financial information about economic entities. The modern field was established by the Italian mathematician Luca Pacioli in 1494. Accounting, which has been called the "language of business", measures the results of an organization's economic activities and conveys this information to a variety of users, including investors, creditors, management, and regulators. Practitioners of accounting are known as accountants. The terms 'accounting' and 'financial reporting' are often used as synonyms.
Accounting can be divided into several fields including financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, and tax accounting.Accounting information systems are designed to support accounting functions and related activities. Financial accounting focuses on the reporting of an organization's financial information, including the preparation of financial statements, to external users of the information, such as investors, regulators and suppliers; and management accounting focuses on the measurement, analysis and reporting of information for internal use by management. The recording of financial transactions, so that summaries of the financials may be presented in financial reports, is known as bookkeeping, of which double-entry bookkeeping is the most common system.

Back in 2008, after two years of on-farm demonstration and research, Proximity Designs added a low pressure drip irrigation set to its Yetagon line of low-cost irrigation products. Proven to dramatically increase yields and water use efficiency, while reducing disease and labour costs, drip irrigation has revolutionised crop production in many developed nations. Most farmers in Myanmar and elsewhere in the developing world however, cannot afford expensive imported drip systems, nor the mechanised pump required to operate them. For drip to succeed here, we had to do something radically different. Dr Brent Rowell and Ms Mar Lar Soe talk about how the Proximity drip system was designed for very low pressures from gravity alone, and how this simple, but life-changing technology is being made...

Brompton bicycles are unique, both in their design and the way they are made... and where they are made - you will find few global bike brands still manufactured in their city of origin. We continue to design and build our bikes in West London because it is the only way to ensure the necessary quality on our hand-built bicycles. Moving production offshore in search of lower labour costs, business rates and taxes would certainly bring some obvious benefits, but these would be outweighed by the consequences of losing control over quality and, ultimately, losing the confidence of the consumer.
This video is a case study of the solution we implemented for CMK Treatments, that has achieved a 20% increase in production capacity and a 14% decrease in labour costs. It is a useful starting point for any company looking to overhaul their logistics or materials handling solutions and wondering whether they will see a tangible return on their investment from such a move. When architectural powder coater, CMK (Treatments) Ltd, decided to increase the capacity of its powder coating facility the company turned to the supplier that had installed its existing conveyors, Leicester based materials handling specialist, CI Logistics. CI Logistics was tasked with the design, manufacture and installation of an overhead power and free conveyor system that would increase CMK's production capacity ...
This is a tutorial showing how to build Johnny Lee's Steadicam, found here: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/steadycam/ Hope you enjoy the tutorial, let me know if you found it useful. UPDATE 2: A few people have suggested that you do not need to bend the washer that supports your camera. I'm inclined to agree, and it has also been suggested that you put a similarily sized rubber washer between your camera and the metal washer. This also seems like good advice! UPDATE 1: If you would like me to build you one of these, the cost is (in Canadian $$): PARTS: $15.00 LABOUR: $15.00 (unpainted) $20.00 (painted black) SHIPPING: $21.00 to Florida, $14.00 to British Columbia (as two examples, since they are as far West and far South in North America that you can get from me). This video was shot in Wazuka, Kyoto, Japan. You can see how the leaves are picked and then processed. The tea making process is all day long with picking starting at 5am. Once the leaves are picked they are taken to a factory where the raw leaves are made into "tea". This takes about 6 hours, with each step taking roughly an hour. Hand picking and processing is very rare in Japan because of the labour involved. The resulting tea costs between $50 and $60 dollars an ounce.
