Auction of 2.6GHz band blocks raises NT$27.9bn

The auction for six blocks in the 2.5 gigahertz (GHz) to 2.6GHz frequency band ended yesterday, generating a total of NT$27.925 billion (US$847.85 million) for the treasury ... The National Communications Commission (NCC) yesterday said it would consult legal experts on whether the government should compensate WiMAX service operators for asking them to relocate their spectrums on the 2,500MHz and 2,600MHz to other frequency bands ...
