Thursday Afternoon is a 1985 album by the British ambient musician Brian Eno consisting of one 60-minute eponymous composition. It is the rearranged soundtrack to a video production of the same title made in 1984.
Since recording Discreet Music in 1975, Eno had shown a strong interest in creating music that can influence the atmosphere of the space in which it is played, rather than be focused on directly. The Thursday Afternoon video was conceived as a series of seven "video paintings" which can be looked at in passing without demanding full attention from the viewer. Each of the segments depicts simple imagery that has been treated with visual effects, much in the same way as Eno's music is often made up of simple instrumental performances that have been treated with audio effects.
The music on this album consists of multiple tracks of processed piano and electronic textures. The layers of the composition are phased so that their relationships to each other are constantly changing in a way similar to his previous Discreet Music piece. The album was also one of the first to take advantage of the (then new) extended running time of the compact disc format, containing only one 60-min track.

Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast is a weekly comedy podcast hosted by Bill Burr. It is part of the All Things Comedy podcast network, which was founded by Bill Burr along with Al Madrigal.
Since May 2007, Bill Burr has recorded a weekly one-hour podcast, in which he speaks without reservation and off the cuff about his past and recent experiences, current events, going on tour, sports, and offers advice to questions submitted by the listeners. He is sometimes joined by his wife Nia Hill and has many other featured guests and interviews with other comedians.
Beginning on March 12, 2015, Bill Burr started releasing a second weekly edition called the Thursday Afternoon Monday Morning Podcast (often calling it the "Thursday Afternoon Just Before Friday Monday Morning Podcast"). This podcast is formatted as a supplement to the regular Monday episode and runs for approximately half an hour with new material in the same vein as the Monday Morning Podcast, followed by approximately half an hour of clips from old episodes of the show.
"And I" is a song written by American R&B singer Ciara, and produced by Adonis Shropshire for Ciara's first album, Goodies (2004). It was released as the album's fourth and final single on August 30, 2005 (see 2005 in music) in North America.
The song was originally the third choice for the fourth single. Ciara has mentioned in an interview that "Thug Style", "Hotline" or "Pick up the Phone" would be the fourth single, but when Ciara suggested "And I" to executives at her previous record label LaFace, they were unhappy because they wanted "Next to You" to be the fourth single.
At the time of the U.S. release of "And I", Ciara's collaboration with Bow Wow, "Like You", and her collaboration with Missy Elliott, "Lose Control", were at the height of their popularity. "And I" peaked at 96 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and 27 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, which were poor positions compared to those attained by the first three singles from the album Goodies. It was not released outside North America because of this, and it is Ciara's least successful single.
Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno,RDI (/ˈiːnoʊ/; born 15 May 1948 and originally christened Brian Peter George Eno), professionally known as Brian Eno or simply Eno, is an English musician, composer, record producer, singer, and visual artist, known as one of the principal innovators of ambient music. Born in Suffolk, Eno studied under Roy Ascott at Ipswich Civic College and later attended Colchester Institute art school in Essex, England, taking inspiration from minimalist painting, cybernetics, and experimental music techniques during his time there. He joined the band Roxy Music as synthesiser player in the early 1970s. The group's success in the glam rock scene came quickly, but Eno soon became tired of touring and of conflicts with lead singer Bryan Ferry, leaving the group in 1973 to record innovative solo albums that would explore various styles and help pioneer ambient music.
Throughout the 1970s, Eno also worked as an influential collaborator and music producer, collaborating with Robert Fripp on the LPs (No Pussyfooting) (1973) and Evening Star (1975), David Bowie on his acclaimed "Berlin Trilogy," avant-garde musicians Jon Hassell and Harold Budd on several respective projects, and David Byrne on My Life in the Bush of Ghosts (released 1981), and further producing the acclaimed "No Wave" compilation No New York (1978), three albums by New York post-punk group Talking Heads, and albums by new wave bands Devo and Ultravox, among others. In subsequent decades, he has produced or worked on albums by U2, James, Laurie Anderson, Coldplay, Paul Simon, Grace Jones, James Blake and Slowdive, among others. Eno has also pursued multimedia ventures in parallel to his music career, including his mid-1970s development of "Oblique Strategies" (written with Peter Schmidt), a deck of cards featuring cryptic aphorisms intended to break creative blocks and encourage lateral thinking.
From the album Thursday Afternoon. I used some old time-lapse footage of clouds and made it into a video painting, similar to what Eno originally had in mind. If you get a chance, check out his original ones. They're fantastic.
Thursday Afternoon 82:00 Genere: Electronic Stile: Abstract, Ambient Anno:1984 The original video, made at the request of and released by the Sony Corporation of America, was filmed in San Francisco in April 1984 and treated and assembled at Sony in Tokyo. Produced by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois, it features seven "video paintings" of actress and photographer Christine Alicino, a friend of Eno's, and has a running time of 82 minutes. It was filmed in "vertical format," which necessitated the viewer either lie on their side or turn the television on its side, which often proved impractical for many viewers, and in most affected the picture tube's color purity adjustments. The DVD reissue presents it in both portrait and landscape formats so that this is no longer necessary. The content is ...

http://www.mixcloud.com/slowmotionradio Time-stretched version of the album 'Ambient 1: Music For Airports' by Brian Eno. http://www.enoshop.co.uk 'Music for Airports' was the first of four albums released in Brian Eno's 'Ambient' series- a term which he coined to differentiate his minimalistic approach to the album's material and "the products of the various purveyors of canned music". The music was designed to be continuously looped as a sound installation, with the intent to diffuse the tense, anxious atmosphere of an airport terminal. Eno conceived this idea while being stuck at Cologne Bonn Airport in Germany in the mid-1970s. He had to spend several hours there and was extremely annoyed by the uninspired sound atmosphere. It was installed at the Marine Air Terminal of New York's L...

Her life is a show
One act follows the other everywhere she goes
She takes the leading role
She never plays herself
Save for the time she’s on the stage
Color her black or white
Now either one reflects the teardrops
One extreme for the other
Nothing in between
Color her white for the princess she could be
Color her black for the troubled child she plays so well
Well she’s dancing through hell on a dream
And blue is soul of the one
Reaching for the man that she hasn’t got yet
And holding on to those hearts for lost causes
She could be so bright
But she’s reaching for us all
Color her blue for the loneliness she feels
She’s hiding her heart in the sky
And this is a thursday afternoon
It’s just another thursday afternoon
It’s just another thursday afternoon
Color me grey
I’m a little bit of everything today
And I’m not sure just where I’m going
Color me grey
Wishing I was something more of distinction
Color us all ’cause we’re just stars
Wishing our lives away
Into the distance
And out of existence
Color her black or white
Color her blue
Or color me grey
Color us all - we’re stars
Wishing our lives away
Now we’re stars
