Sweet Baby

Sweet Baby (originally known as Sweet Baby Jesus) was a pop punk band that originated from Berkeley, California, and was part of the 924 Gilman Street scene. They were signed to Ruby Records.

Formed in 1986 by singer Dallas Denery and singer/guitarist Matt Buenrostro with Crispy Jim (later of The Saddlebacks) on bass and Dr. Frank (the frontman of The Mr. T Experience) on drums. Frank and Crispy Jim did not appear on any Sweet Baby recordings, having been already replaced by Sergie Loobkoff (Samiam, Knapsack) and Richie Bucher (Jüke, Wynona Ryders), respectively. Aaron Elliott aka Aaron Cometbus also played drums for them on their 1989 US tour. They had two songs on the Maximum Rock and Roll compilation Turn it Around (1988), "She's from Salinas" and "Pathetic." In 1989, they released their only LP, It's A Girl on Ruby Records (a Slash/Warner subsidiary). Their song "Andorra" was on the Lookout Records compilation double LP The Thing That Ate Floyd released in 1992. Lookout Records re-released the band's It's A Girl album on compact disc in 1995, and Eccentric Pop Records released a remastered vinyl LP version with a bonus 7" containing unreleased studio and live tracks in 2015.

Sweet Baby (Erreway song)

"Sweet Baby" is the debut single by Argentine pop band Erreway from their debut album Señales. It was released through Sony Music in 2002 (see 2002 in music). The single, which features all four members — Felipe Colombo, Benjamín Rojas, Camila Bordonaba and Luisana Lopilato — was written by recognized Argentine director, producer and composer Cris Morena.

Song information

"Sweet Baby" was written by Cris Morena and Carlos Nilson, who wrot most of the songs for Erreway albums Señales (2002), Tiempo (2003) and Memoria (2004). The song contains lines in Spanish mostly, but also in English (see ). Released as the first single from Señales, it was also the opening song from the album. "Sweet Baby" features all band members — Felipe Colombo, Benjamín Rojas, Camila Bordonaba and Luisana Lopilato — as leading vocals.

Other appearances

"Sweet Baby" appears in television series Rebelde Way (2002–03). In the series, the song was written by Mía Colucci, the character of Luisana Lopilato. At the time, the band consisted of Marizza Pía Spirito (Camila Bordonaba), Pablo Bustamante (Benjamín Rojas), Manuel Aguirre (Felipe Colombo) and Felicitas "Feli" Mitre (Ángeles Balbiani), but they performed it with Mía after Feli had left. They would later perform the song for several times.

McGear

McGear is the second solo album by English singer Mike McGear, released in 1974.

History

The album was a collaboration between McGear and his older brother Paul McCartney, who produced the record. All tracks on the album are performed by McCartney's band Wings, although all lead vocals are sung by McGear (McCartney can be heard singing the ending of "What Do We Really Know?", on "Givin' Grease A Ride" and occasional yells and harmony vocals on other tracks). At the time, McGear had just left his group Grimms, and McCartney was waiting for his Apple Records contract to expire. Because of Apple contract issues, McCartney was originally not credited as a performer.

Although the original intent had just been to record a single ("Leave It"), the project mushroomed into an entire album before the single was released. The album was recorded at Strawberry Studios, except for "Leave It", which was recorded at Abbey Road Studios. "Leave It" reached #36 in the UK singles chart.

The front cover shows Mike captured like Gulliver, surrounded by little black and white people. Included in the people are pictures of the band members, as well as a childhood picture of Paul and Mike.

Sweet Baby (song)

"Sweet Baby" is the lead single from Macy Gray's second studio album The Id, released in 2001. The single is a collaboration with Erykah Badu, who was a featured vocalist, and John Frusciante from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who played the guitar.

In the UK, "Sweet Baby" became Gray's third highest-charting single behind "Still" and "I Try", peaking at number twenty-three on the UK Singles Chart. The single was also a hit in Canada peaking at number sixteen on the Canadian Singles Chart. "Sweet Baby" also peaked at number twenty-four on the Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart in the United States and number thirty-nine in Australia.

"Sweet Baby" was released on one CD format and a 12" vinyl format in the UK. The CD single contained a previously unreleased track named "Better Where You Are".

Sweet Baby (Scandal)

"Sweet Baby" is the pilot episode of the American political thriller television series Scandal, which aired on American Broadcasting Company (ABC) on April 5, 2012. The episode was written by showrunner Shonda Rhimes and directed by Paul McGuigan. The episode introduces main character Olivia Pope, a crisis manager with her own firm, Olivia Pope & Associates, and its staff Stephen Finch, Harrison Wright, Abigail "Abby" Whelan, Huck and newly hired Quinn Perkins. Other main cast members include the staff at the White House in Washington D.C., President Fitzgerald "Fitz" Thomas Grant III, and White House Chief of Staff Cyrus Beene.

The episode was watched by an audience of 7.33 millions, and received positive reviews from television critics.

Plot

Quinn Perkins (Katie Lowes) comes to what she believes to be a blind date, only to find herself being interviewed by Harrison Wright (Columbus Short) for a job at Olivia Pope & Associates, a job that she's dreamed about for a while. At the same time, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and Stephen Finch (Henry Ian Cusick) work on getting a Russian Ambassador's baby back from kidnappers, which Olivia successfully manages to do. Harrison takes Quinn to the office of OPA where she meets the other staff of the firm: Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and Abby Whelan (Darby Stanchfield). Just as they are all about to leave, Lieutenant Sully St James comes in pleading for help as his girlfriend has just been murdered; then Olivia gets a call from Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) because a woman named Amanda Tanner (Lisa Weil) has been saying that she has been sleeping with the president and he requests her help.
