From 2011: For Kristin Towers-Rowles, this will be the first time she has attempted to play a role made famous by her grandmother, star of the screen and stage, Kathryn Grayson. Grayson is perhaps best known for her roles in “Anchors Aweigh” with Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra, and “Showboat” with Howard Keel as well as the 1953 MGM film adaptation of the musical, “Kiss Me Kate“. In February, her grand daughter, Kristin Towers-Rowles will play Lilli Vanessi/Katharine at Warner Grand Theatre in “Kiss Me Kate”. Originally planned in January 2010 to be performed at this time as a tribute to her grandmother while she was living, the production takes on an additional poignancy opening on the exact one year anniversary of her death, February 17, 2011.
The Relevant Stage is proud to present a musical comedy masterpiece by composer Cole Porter and authors Sam and Bella Spewack which not only enchanted critics and delighted audiences, but also went on to triumph as one of the biggest prize-winners of the 2000 season. Taking its inspiration from Shakespeare, “Kiss Me, Kate” recounts the backstage and onstage antics of two feuding romantic couples during a touring musical production of “Shrewsical” a tune-filed adaptation of “The Taming of The Shrew”. Sparkling with 18 classic Cole Porter songs — including “Another Op’nin’, Another Show,” “Wunderbar,” “So In Love,” “Always True to You in My Fashion,” “Too Darn Hot,” and “Brush Up Your Shakespeare” — “Kiss Me, Kate” epitomizes the Broadway musical comedy at its irresistible best. Directed by Ray Buffer, this 2000 Tony-winner for Best Revival stars Kristin Towers Rowles, Ray Buffer, Jessica Marie Taylor and Drew Fitzsimmons as the bickering couples whose offstage disputes ultimately entangle them with a pair of unexpectedly erudite gangsters (Greg Abbot and Michael Jay Aronovitz) and a megalomaniacal U.S. Army general (Martin Feldman). Cole Porter’s most successful musical, the original production of “Kiss Me, Kate” opened on Broadway at the New Century Theatre on December 30, 1948 and ran for 1,077 performances. It garnered five Tony Awards in 1949, the same number the revival claimed in 2000. Don’t miss your chance to see this fabulous production in San Pedro for a limited engagement of two weekends. Virtual International Authority File
The Virtual International Authority File (VIAF) is an international authority file. It is a joint project of several national libraries and operated by the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC). The project was initiated by the German National Library and the US Library of Congress.
The aim is to link the national authority files (such as the German Name Authority File) to a single virtual authority file. In this file, identical records from the different data sets are linked together. A VIAF record receives a standard data number, contains the primary "see" and "see also" records from the original records, and refers to the original authority records. The data are made available online and are available for research and data exchange and sharing. Reciprocal updating uses the Open Archives Initiative protocol.
The file numbers are also being added to Wikipedia biographical articles and are incorporated into Wikidata.

Samé
Samé or Samé Diomgoma is a village and commune in the Cercle of Kayes in the Kayes Region of south-western Mali. The commune includes 18 villages and lies to the south of the Senegal River. The Dakar-Niger Railway passes through Samé. In 2009 the commune had a population of 12,820.

Sam (horse)
Sam (1815 – after 1827) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In a career that lasted from April 1818 to May 1819 he ran nine times and won three races. In May 1818 he defeated fifteen opponents to record his most important win in the Epsom Derby. His only other wins came in a walkover and a match race. After running without success as a four-year-old, Sam was retired to stud but made no impact as a sire of winners.
Background
Sam was described as a "low, lengthy and plain sort of horse, with a sour countenance, and a delicate constitution," sired by the Doncaster Cup winner Scud out of the mare Hyale. Hyale produced several other winners and was a half-sister to Goosander, a highly successful broodmare who produced the Epsom Oaks winner Shoveler and the Derby winner Sailor. Sam was bred by his owner, Thomas Thornhill at his stud at Riddlesworth, Norfolk, and trained by Thornhill's father-in-law, Mr Perren.
Sam was named after his regular jockey Sam Chifney, Jr. Chifney was one of the outstanding jockeys of his era, and one of the first to hold horses up in the early stages of a race before finishing strongly: he became famous for this tactic which became known as the "Chifney Rush". He eventually became the joint-trainer of the colt that bore his name.

Trick 'r Treat
Trick 'r Treat is a 2007 American-Canadian anthology horror-comedy film written and directed by Michael Dougherty. The film stars Dylan Baker, Brian Cox and Anna Paquin, and centers on four Halloween-related horror stories. One common element that ties the stories together is the presence of Sam, a mysterious child trick-or-treater wearing shabby orange pajamas with a burlap sack over his head, that makes an appearance in all the stories whenever someone breaks Halloween traditions.
Despite being delayed for two years and having a very limited theatrical release, the film received much critical acclaim and has since garnered a strong cult following. In October 2013, the filmmakers announced that a sequel, Trick 'r Treat 2, is in the works.
Plot
Opening
In the fictional Warren Valley, Ohio, Emma (Leslie Bibb) and her holiday-obsessed husband, Henry (Tahmoh Penikett), have set up numerous ghost-scarecrows for Halloween in their yard, although she is mostly uninterested in Halloween. After returning home from a Halloween party, Emma tries to blow out a jack-o'-lantern, but Henry tells her not to because it is against tradition to extinguish a jack-o'-lantern on Halloween; she blows it out anyway. While Henry is inside waiting for Emma to take down the decorations, she is murdered by an unknown assailant with a large blade-shaped pumpkin lollipop in front of the kids who were trick-or-treating, who run away in horror. Later, Henry goes outside and notices limbs hanging out of wires. Just then, one of the scarecrows lights up. He approaches it and takes down the cover, only to see Emma's decapitated head stuck onto the stick and wrapped in decorative lights, with her limbs chopped off and her mouth stuffed with a large lollipop, and screams in horror.

From 2011: For Kristin Towers-Rowles, this will be the first time she has attempted to play a role made famous by her grandmother, star of the screen and stage, Kathryn Grayson. Grayson is perhaps best known for her roles in “Anchors Aweigh” with Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra, and “Showboat” with Howard Keel as well as the 1953 MGM film adaptation of the musical, “Kiss Me Kate“. In February, her grand daughter, Kristin Towers-Rowles will play Lilli Vanessi/Katharine at Warner Grand Theatre in “Kiss Me Kate”. Originally planned in January 2010 to be performed at this time as a tribute to her grandmother while she was living, the production takes on an additional poignancy opening on the exact one year anniversary of her death, February 17, 2011.
The Relevant Stage is proud to present a musical comedy masterpiece by composer Cole Porter and authors Sam and Bella Spewack which not only enchanted critics and delighted audiences, but also went on to triumph as one of the biggest prize-winners of the 2000 season. Taking its inspiration from Shakespeare, “Kiss Me, Kate” recounts the backstage and onstage antics of two feuding romantic couples during a touring musical production of “Shrewsical” a tune-filed adaptation of “The Taming of The Shrew”. Sparkling with 18 classic Cole Porter songs — including “Another Op’nin’, Another Show,” “Wunderbar,” “So In Love,” “Always True to You in My Fashion,” “Too Darn Hot,” and “Brush Up Your Shakespeare” — “Kiss Me, Kate” epitomizes the Broadway musical comedy at its irresistible best. Directed by Ray Buffer, this 2000 Tony-winner for Best Revival stars Kristin Towers Rowles, Ray Buffer, Jessica Marie Taylor and Drew Fitzsimmons as the bickering couples whose offstage disputes ultimately entangle them with a pair of unexpectedly erudite gangsters (Greg Abbot and Michael Jay Aronovitz) and a megalomaniacal U.S. Army general (Martin Feldman). Cole Porter’s most successful musical, the original production of “Kiss Me, Kate” opened on Broadway at the New Century Theatre on December 30, 1948 and ran for 1,077 performances. The Relevant Stage
From 2011: For Kristin Towers-Rowles, this will be the first time she has attempted to play a role made famous by her grandmother, star of the screen and stage, Kathryn Grayson. Grayson is perhaps best known for her roles in “Anchors Aweigh” with Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra, and “Showboat” with Howard Keel as well as the 1953 MGM film adaptation of the musical, “Kiss Me Kate“. In February, her grand daughter, Kristin Towers-Rowles will play Lilli Vanessi/Katharine at Warner Grand Theatre in “Kiss Me Kate”. Originally planned in January 2010 to be performed at this time as a tribute to her grandmother while she was living, the production takes on an additional poignancy opening on the exact one year anniversary of her death, February 17, 2011.
The Relevant Stage is proud to present a musical comedy masterpiece by composer Cole Porter and authors Sam and Bella Spewack which not only enchanted critics and delighted audiences, but also went on to triumph as one of the biggest prize-winners of the 2000 season. Taking its inspiration from Shakespeare, “Kiss Me, Kate” recounts the backstage and onstage antics of two feuding romantic couples during a touring musical production of “Shrewsical” a tune-filed adaptation of “The Taming of The Shrew”. Sparkling with 18 classic Cole Porter songs — including “Another Op’nin’, Another Show,” “Wunderbar,” “So In Love,” “Always True to You in My Fashion,” “Too Darn Hot,” and “Brush Up Your Shakespeare” — “Kiss Me, Kate” epitomizes the Broadway musical comedy at its irresistible best. Directed by Ray Buffer, this 2000 Tony-winner for Best Revival stars Kristin Towers Rowles, Ray Buffer, Jessica Marie Taylor and Drew Fitzsimmons as the bickering couples whose offstage disputes ultimately entangle them with a pair of unexpectedly erudite gangsters (Greg Abbot and Michael Jay Aronovitz) and a megalomaniacal U.S. Army general (Martin Feldman). Cole Porter’s most successful musical, the original production of “Kiss Me, Kate” opened on Broadway at the New Century Theatre on December 30, 1948 and ran for 1,077 performances. It garnered five Tony Awards in 1949, the same number the revival claimed in 2000. Don’t miss your chance to see this fabulous production in San Pedro for a limited engagement of two weekends. Virtual International Authority File
The Virtual International Authority File (VIAF) is an international authority file. It is a joint project of several national libraries and operated by the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC). The project was initiated by the German National Library and the US Library of Congress.
The aim is to link the national authority files (such as the German Name Authority File) to a single virtual authority file. In this file, identical records from the different data sets are linked together. A VIAF record receives a standard data number, contains the primary "see" and "see also" records from the original records, and refers to the original authority records. The data are made available online and are available for research and data exchange and sharing. Reciprocal updating uses the Open Archives Initiative protocol.
The file numbers are also being added to Wikipedia biographical articles and are incorporated into Wikidata.
