Taryn Southern

Taryn Southern (born July 16, 1986) is an American singer, actress, comedian, and YouTube personality. She was part of American Idol season three's Top 50, but first gained national attention with her video Hot4Hill during the 2008 Presidential race. She went on to host and executive produce DirecTV's first original series, Project My World before landing other jobs in the entertainment industry.

Early life

Southern grew up in Wichita, Kansas in an Italian family and landed her first starring role in a pre-broadway theatrical production at the age of 10. As a teenager, she co-hosted a regional talk show for WB Kansas that addressed controversial teen issues like sex and drugs. She graduated from Wichita East High School in 2003.

At 20, Southern graduated from the University of Miami, earning a B.S. in Anthropology and a B.A. in Journalism. While in school she competed in American Idol and received a grant to travel to Peru to study the shamanic use of ayahuasca among rainforest communities.

Rookie Blue

Rookie Blue is a Canadian police drama television series starring Missy Peregrym and Gregory Smith. It was created by Morwyn Brebner, Tassie Cameron, and Ellen Vanstone. The police drama premiered on June 24, 2010, at 9:00 p.m. Eastern/8:00 p.m. Central, and aired on Global in Canada and on ABC in the United States.

On July 17, 2013, ABC and Global announced that Rookie Blue was renewed for a fifth season. Originally intended to be a single season consisting of 22 episodes (up from the usual 13), the season was split in two, with ABC and ET Canada at first announcing that the first half would premiere on July 17, and the other half "at a later date". Season 5 premiered on May 19 on Global, on June 19 on ABC, and on July 20 on Universal Channel in the UK. Global's early premiere marked the first time that the series aired on separate dates in Canada and the U.S. This precedent was repeated in 2015, when the second half of Season 5 (rebranded as Season 6) aired on Global six weeks ahead of its American counterpart.

Mikky Ekko

Mikky Ekko (born John Stephen Sudduth; December 17, 1984) is an American artist and record producer from Louisiana, signed to RCA Records. He is best known for being featured on Rihanna's 2013 single "Stay", which has charted in multiple countries worldwide, becoming Ekko's first-charting material. Ekko released his debut studio album, Time in January 2015 through RCA Records.

Early life

Born John Stephen Sudduth in Louisiana, Mikky Ekko had a restless childhood as the son of a preacher, moving around America's deep south. Having settled briefly in Tupelo, Mississippi, and absorbed as much gospel as he could, he relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, and started playing in bands. Ekko began working as a songwriter for other artists, but realized that he wanted to be a singer himself. He released his first EP, "Strange Fruit" (produced by Tim Lauer) on February 15, 2009 containing the first songs he’d written by himself, most of them acapella. Ekko says of his location, Nashville, United States "fortunate to be in a city that’s so loving and hospitable." From September 2009, he toured with the Nashville-based collective group, Ten Out of Tenn.
