De ALLERBESTE artiesten uit de Volksmusik- en Schlagerwereld komen voor u optreden! We zijn er heel trots op dat we dit jaar weer een fantastisch programma hebben kunnen samenstellen!
Wat dacht u van de ongelofelijk populaire Erwin Aschenwald en zijn Mayrhofner? In Oostenrijk en Duitsland méér dan populair en overal succesvol onderweg! Voor het eerst in het bestaan van Spiel mir einer zijn eindelijk Die Edlseer van de partij! Ze stonden al lang op ons verlanglijstje en nu is het dan eindelijk gelukt! Die Edlseer weten precies hoe je Volksmusik en Stimmung schrijft!
De nieuwe megasensatie Melissa Naschenweng maakt het programma compleet. Ze was al een aantal malen in ons land te gast en wist zich in korte tijd in de Oostenrijkse en Duitse branche te ontwikkelen tot een grote ster. Dat kan ook bijna niet anders; ze heeft dezelfde manager als Andreas Gabalier! Zoals u de grote shows van de Duitse televisie kent; DAT is het 'Frühjahrsfest der Volksmusik'. Een prachtig gala voor jong en oud!

This is a very rare, and hard to find 78 rpm recording from The African Swingsters.
This number is written by Ellison Temba,and he was also the leader of this band.
African Jazz is very cool, and i think Bert Keampfert listnened very good to this music.
if you listen to Bert Kaempfert's song "African Beat" (1962) you hear the music from The African Swingsters!

Dit is een zeer aparte 78 toerenschijf uit Zuid Afrika,en ik kon er weinig info over vinden.
De plaat is van ongeveer 1955-56 en toen ik dit nummer hoorde moest ik gelijk denken aan "African Beat" (1962) van Bert Keampfert.Ook zijn nummer "A Swinging Safari" (1962) komt dicht in de buurt van deze muziekstijl.
At Sophies Joint is geschreven door Ellison Temba,en hij was tevens de leider van het orkest.
Alle info over deze muziek is welkom,dus als je iets weet laat dan gerust een berichtje achter;-)
De draaitafel is trouwens een Reloop - RP 4000 M3D s (heeft 33,45 en 78 toeren)
Deze Reloop is ongeveer anderhalf jaar oud en ik gebruik er verschillende elementen voor.
Deze zit aangesloten op mijn Behringer Eurorack UB1204FX-PRO.
En die zit weer aangesloten op mijn externe Behringer geluidskaart,en die gaat de pc weer in
Ik film de plaat,en tegelijkertijd registreer ik het geluid.

In deel 3 de chaotische wilde jaren tachtig. Jij woonde net met Sonja Babaubun samen in Poelenburg. Je werkte bij garage Zwart. Ik met Judy ook in Poelenburg. Werkte als fysio en studerend voor ‘bottenbreker’. Vaak samen eten en uit. Even niet samen in een band. Ik speelde door heel NL met The Clapband en (eigen)zappamuziek (kollagerock) met Max Gazolin. Natuurlijk draaiden we veel muziek samen en gingen naar concerten; veel Afrikaans en reggae maar ook Galagher, Police etc. In mijn ogen was je in die tijd wel super burgelijk. Jullie deden echt alles samen. Verstikkend gewoon. Maar wel stapelgek op elkaar!
Via via kwam je bij de Zaanse folkrock Fairfax: eigen nummers in de stijl van Eagles, Neil Young. Ik werd invaldrummer als jullie optredens hadden. We deden een hele goeie in Drieluik. Die jongens waren technische perfectionisten met de duurste spullen en versterking. Dik voor elkaar. Na een tijdje werd Sonja daar ook achtergrond zangeres. Je gaf hart en ziel aan de band maar de leadzanger ging er met jouw Sonja vandoor. Luizenstreek maar het kwaad was eigenlijk daarvoor al geschied. Je legde haar teveel jouw wil en wet op. Hier moet je van leren zei ik. Maar je was gekrenkt! Exit Fairfax.
In de jaren daarna leefde je als een ongeleid projectiel: spontaan, impulsief en met volle teugen. Veel leuke vrouwen, feesten in de Heinsiusstraat, Disco Dodo (mijn thuis en vaak afzakadres als alle kroegen dicht waren en jij en Franky weer eens in slaap vielen met een bak soep voor jullie neus), lachen, de Hubertus feestboot en natuurlijk muziek: jamsessies in het Geushuis in Zaandijk (Franky’s eerste keer) en in kraakcafé De Koevoet in Amsterdam (repo plek van max G. en vele punkbandjes). Met Rob Vos, Michiel Wiering, Rob Kruit en ons werd daar de kiem gelegd voor de latere band Gimme Your Daughter & Hands-Off boys. Jacob Passander woonde een tijdje bij je in. Hij schreef een mooi gedicht ‘Tears from heaven’. We draaiden zware dubreggae, Manu Dibango, Franco maar ook Hazes en Lionel Ritchie.
In 1984 werd Gimme Your Daughter opgericht. Jij, Chiel en Rob repeteerden bij jouw thuis akoestisch en schreven de nummers. Het achtergrondkoor had je natuurlijk al lang tussen de lakens gehad. Toen we gingen optreden (met drum) was de band meteen super bekend in de Zaanstreek. Na een optreden in Drieluik op Koninginnedagavond 1985 werd je door Chiel en Rob uit de band gezet omdat je overdag in Amsterdam een paar biertjes had gedronken. Ja, dit was een hele serieuze band. Ik stopte even later ook en ging met Judy 7 maanden met rugzak naar Afrika.
Toen we terug kwamen in april 1986 was het beeld compleet veranderd. G.Y.D. bestond niet meer. Rob kreeg een hersenbloeding. Chiel was met Reniet Garfield gestart. Jij had een mooi net pak aan en speelde met Jan Abbing in Rock à Bob lekkere gladde rockabilly en rock and roll. Die Bennie. Je genoot met volle teugen. Dik geld verdienen en spelen tussen de F16’s op chique feesten van de luchtmacht. En een leuk singeltje gemaakt (heeft iemand deze opname nog??) En je woonde samen met nieuwe vriendin Maya (met dochter nathalie) die je vaak zag achter de kassa bij de Coop in Poelenburg. Maya had familie in Canada en dus was je geïnteresseerd geraakt in de Indianen cultuur met allerlei snuisterijen en antieke wapens. Het liefst demonstreerde je die ter plekke door uit het raam op vogels te schieten op de flat er tegenover. ‘Zijn geen dodelijke kogels hoor!’ Bennie pas op!
In deel 3 de ‘soundtrack van die periode met 1 opname van fairfax, 3 van de sessies en twee van Gimme Your Daughter. Vanaf eind jaren tachtig gingen we echt als ritmetandem samenwerken….

Brian Samuel Epstein (19 September 1934 -- 27 August 1967) was an English music entrepreneur, best known for being the manager of the Beatles until his death in 1967. He had also served as manager for Cilla Black, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, the Remo Four, and the Cyrkle. After attending boarding schools, being in the army, and training to be an actor at RADA, he returned to Liverpool to join the Epstein family business, which later led to him naming his own company NEMS Enterprises; an acronym for North End Music Stores, which his family owned.
In 1962, Epstein paid for the Beatles to record a demonstration tape at Decca's London studios, but Decca declined to sign the group to a contract. After then approaching nearly all of the major recording companies in London and being rejected, Epstein met a record producer, George Martin, who offered a contract on behalf of EMI's small Parlophone label. When Beatlemania swept the UK in 1963, Epstein allowed a significant business opportunity to pass when he was besieged by offers from merchandisers, as he had already given away 90% of the merchandising rights to Stramsact in the UK, and Seltaeb (Beatles spelt backwards), in the US.
Epstein developed a drug dependence, but publicly supported the campaign for legalizing cannabis, whilst unsuccessfully attempting rehabilitation in the same year. His love of gambling also took a heavy financial toll. Epstein's homosexuality was a secret that had to be avoided throughout his public life, as it was not decriminalized in England and Wales until the year of his death of an accidental drug overdose at his home in London.
The Beatles' early success has been attributed to his management and sense of style. Paul McCartney said of him: "If anyone was the Fifth Beatle, it was Brian."

Weer
Weer is a municipality in the district of Schwaz in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It lies in the east of the Weerbach.
Until World War II Weer was a farming village. After World War II, due to developing industrialisation in the peripherals (mainly Schwaz and Innsbruck) it became much bigger. The area of Weer is 561 ha, of which 330 ha are used for extended agriculture.
The first settlers were Illyrian, later house names also refer to presence of Romans. For four centuries Weer then was located in the Roman province of Rhaetia.
The village is named first in 1075, its name derives from a Celtic-Illyrian root. Around 1500, because of the enormous silver mining industry in Schwaz, the outlying villages were also explored for natural resources. Thus, a small gold washery was established in Weer. The crest of the village still shows a gold washing tool at the bottom.

Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs (/ˈdʒɒbz/; February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) was an American information technology entrepreneur and inventor. He was the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer (CEO) of Apple Inc.; CEO and largest shareholder of Pixar Animation Studios; a member of The Walt Disney Company's board of directors following its acquisition of Pixar; and founder, chairman, and CEO of NeXT Inc. Jobs is widely recognized as a pioneer of the microcomputer revolution of the 1970s, along with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Shortly after his death, Jobs's official biographer, Walter Isaacson, described him as the "creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing."
Adopted at birth in San Francisco, and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area during the 1960s, Jobs's countercultural lifestyle was a product of his time. As a senior at Homestead High School in Cupertino, California, his two closest friends were the older engineering student (and Homestead High alumnus) Wozniak and his countercultural girlfriend, the artistically inclined Homestead High junior Chrisann Brennan. Jobs briefly attended Reed College in 1972 before dropping out, deciding to travel through India in 1974 and study Buddhism.

This is a very rare, and hard to find 78 rpm recording from The African Swingsters. This number is written by Ellison Temba,and he was also the leader of this band. African Jazz is very cool, and i think Bert Keampfert listnened very good to this music. if you listen to Bert Kaempfert's song "African Beat" (1962) you hear the music from The African Swingsters! There's not so much information about The African Swingsters,so if you know something about this band let me know!Thnx! De plaat is van ongeveer 1955-56 en toen ik dit nummer hoorde moest ik gelijk denken aan "African Beat" (1962) van Bert Keampfert.Ook zijn nummer "A Swinging Safari" (1962) komt dicht in de buurt van deze muziekstijl. At Sophies Joint is geschreven door Ellison Temba,en hij was tevens de leider van het orkest. Alle info over deze muziek is welkom,dus als je iets weet laat dan gerust een berichtje achter;-) De draaitafel is trouwens een Reloop - RP 4000 M3D s (heeft 33,45 en 78 toeren) Deze Reloop is ongeveer anderhalf jaar oud en ik gebruik er verschillende elementen voor. Deze zit aangesloten op mijn Behringer Eurorack UB1204FX-PRO. En die zit weer aangesloten op mijn externe Behringer geluidskaart,en die gaat de pc weer in Ik film de plaat,en tegelijkertijd registreer ik het geluid. Dus wat je ziet is wat je hoort. -

Jij woonde net met Sonja Babaubun samen in Poelenburg. Je werkte bij garage Zwart. Ik met Judy ook in Poelenburg. Werkte als fysio en studerend voor ‘bottenbreker’. Vaak samen eten en uit. Even niet samen in een band. Ik speelde door heel NL met The Clapband en (eigen)zappamuziek (kollagerock) met Max Gazolin. Natuurlijk draaiden we veel muziek samen en gingen naar concerten; veel Afrikaans en reggae maar ook Galagher, Police etc. In mijn ogen was je in die tijd wel super burgelijk. Jullie deden echt alles samen. Verstikkend gewoon. Maar wel stapelgek op elkaar! Via via kwam je bij de Zaanse folkrock Fairfax: eigen nummers in de stijl van Eagles, Neil Young. Ik werd invaldrummer als jullie optredens hadden. We deden een hele goeie in Drieluik. Die jongens waren technische perfectionisten met de duurste spullen en versterking. Dik voor elkaar. Na een tijdje werd Sonja daar ook achtergrond zangeres. Je gaf hart en ziel aan de band maar de leadzanger ging er met jouw Sonja vandoor. Luizenstreek maar het kwaad was eigenlijk daarvoor al geschied. Je legde haar teveel jouw wil en wet op. Hier moet je van leren zei ik. Maar je was gekrenkt! Exit Fairfax. In de jaren daarna leefde je als een ongeleid projectiel: spontaan, impulsief en met volle teugen. Veel leuke vrouwen, feesten in de Heinsiusstraat, Disco Dodo (mijn thuis en vaak afzakadres als alle kroegen dicht waren en jij en Franky weer eens in slaap vielen met een bak soep voor jullie neus), lachen, de Hubertus feestboot en natuurlijk muziek: jamsessies in het Geushuis in Zaandijk (Franky’s eerste keer) en in kraakcafé De Koevoet in Amsterdam (repo plek van max G. en vele punkbandjes). Met Rob Vos, Michiel Wiering, Rob Kruit en ons werd daar de kiem gelegd voor de latere band Gimme Your Daughter & Hands-Off boys. Jacob Passander woonde een tijdje bij je in. Hij schreef een mooi gedicht ‘Tears from heaven’. We draaiden zware dubreggae, Manu Dibango, Franco maar ook Hazes en Lionel Ritchie. In 1984 werd Gimme Your Daughter opgericht. Jij, Chiel en Rob repeteerden bij jouw thuis akoestisch en schreven de nummers. Het achtergrondkoor had je natuurlijk al lang tussen de lakens gehad. Toen we gingen optreden (met drum) was de band meteen super bekend in de Zaanstreek. Na een optreden in Drieluik op Koninginnedagavond 1985 werd je door Chiel en Rob uit de band gezet omdat je overdag in Amsterdam een paar biertjes had gedronken. Ja, dit was een hele serieuze band. Ik stopte even later ook en ging met Judy 7 maanden met rugzak naar Afrika. Toen we terug kwamen in april 1986 was het beeld compleet veranderd. G.Y.D. bestond niet meer. Rob kreeg een hersenbloeding. Chiel was met Reniet Garfield gestart. Jij had een mooi net pak aan en speelde met Jan Abbing in Rock à Bob lekkere gladde rockabilly en rock and roll. Die Bennie. Je genoot met volle teugen. Dik geld verdienen en spelen tussen de F16’s op chique feesten van de luchtmacht. En een leuk singeltje gemaakt (heeft iemand deze opname nog??) En je woonde samen met nieuwe vriendin Maya (met dochter nathalie) die je vaak zag achter de kassa bij de Coop in Poelenburg. Maya had familie in Canada en dus was je geïnteresseerd geraakt in de Indianen cultuur met allerlei snuisterijen en antieke wapens. Het liefst demonstreerde je die ter plekke door uit het raam op vogels te schieten op de flat er tegenover. ‘Zijn geen dodelijke kogels hoor!’ Bennie pas op! In deel 3 de ‘soundtrack van die periode met 1 opname van fairfax, 3 van de sessies en twee van Gimme Your Daughter. Vanaf eind jaren tachtig gingen we echt als ritmetandem samenwerken…. -

Brian Samuel Epstein (19 September 1934 -- 27 August 1967) was an English music entrepreneur, best known for being the manager of the Beatles until his death in 1967. He had also served as manager for Cilla Black, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, the Remo Four, and the Cyrkle. After attending boarding schools, being in the army, and training to be an actor at RADA, he returned to Liverpool to join the Epstein family business, which later led to him naming his own company NEMS Enterprises; an acronym for North End Music Stores, which his family owned. In 1962, Epstein paid for the Beatles to record a demonstration tape at Decca's London studios, but Decca declined to sign the group to a contract. After then approaching nearly all of the major recording companies in London and being rejected, Epstein met a record producer, George Martin, who offered a contract on behalf of EMI's small Parlophone label. When Beatlemania swept the UK in 1963, Epstein allowed a significant business opportunity to pass when he was besieged by offers from merchandisers, as he had already given away 90% of the merchandising rights to Stramsact in the UK, and Seltaeb (Beatles spelt backwards), in the US. Epstein developed a drug dependence, but publicly supported the campaign for legalizing cannabis, whilst unsuccessfully attempting rehabilitation in the same year. His love of gambling also took a heavy financial toll. Epstein's homosexuality was a secret that had to be avoided throughout his public life, as it was not decriminalized in England and Wales until the year of his death of an accidental drug overdose at his home in London. The Beatles' early success has been attributed to his management and sense of style. African Jazz is very cool, and i think Bert Keampfert listnened very good to this music.

Dit is een zeer aparte 78 toerenschijf uit Zuid Afrika,en ik kon er weinig info over vinden.
De plaat is van ongeveer 1955-56 en toen ik dit nummer hoorde moest ik gelijk denken aan "African Beat" (1962) van Bert Keampfert.Ook zijn nummer "A Swinging Safari" (1962) komt dicht in de buurt van deze muziekstijl.
At Sophies Joint is geschreven door Ellison Temba,en hij was tevens de leider van het orkest.
Alle info over deze muziek is welkom,dus als je iets weet laat dan gerust een berichtje achter;-)
De draaitafel is trouwens een Reloop - RP 4000 M3D s (heeft 33,45 en 78 toeren)
Deze Reloop is ongeveer anderhalf jaar oud en ik gebruik er verschillende elementen voor.
Deze zit aangesloten op mijn Behringer Eurorack UB1204FX-PRO.
En die zit weer aangesloten op mijn externe Behringer geluidskaart,en die gaat de pc weer in
Ik film de plaat,en tegelijkertijd registreer ik het geluid.

In deel 3 de chaotische wilde jaren tachtig. Jij woonde net met Sonja Babaubun samen in Poelenburg. Je werkte bij garage Zwart. Ik met Judy ook in Poelenburg. Werkte als fysio en studerend voor ‘bottenbreker’. Vaak samen eten en uit. Even niet samen in een band. Ik speelde door heel NL met The Clapband en (eigen)zappamuziek (kollagerock) met Max Gazolin. Natuurlijk draaiden we veel muziek samen en gingen naar concerten; veel Afrikaans en reggae maar ook Galagher, Police etc. In mijn ogen was je in die tijd wel super burgelijk. Jullie deden echt alles samen. Verstikkend gewoon. Maar wel stapelgek op elkaar!
Via via kwam je bij de Zaanse folkrock Fairfax: eigen nummers in de stijl van Eagles, Neil Young. Ik werd invaldrummer als jullie optredens hadden. We deden een hele goeie in Drieluik. Die jongens waren technische perfectionisten met de duurste spullen en versterking. Dik voor elkaar. Na een tijdje werd Sonja daar ook achtergrond zangeres. Je gaf hart en ziel aan de band maar de leadzanger ging er met jouw Sonja vandoor. Luizenstreek maar het kwaad was eigenlijk daarvoor al geschied. Je legde haar teveel jouw wil en wet op. Hier moet je van leren zei ik. Maar je was gekrenkt! Exit Fairfax.
In de jaren daarna leefde je als een ongeleid projectiel: spontaan, impulsief en met volle teugen. Veel leuke vrouwen, feesten in de Heinsiusstraat, Disco Dodo (mijn thuis en vaak afzakadres als alle kroegen dicht waren en jij en Franky weer eens in slaap vielen met een bak soep voor jullie neus), lachen, de Hubertus feestboot en natuurlijk muziek: jamsessies in het Geushuis in Zaandijk (Franky’s eerste keer) en in kraakcafé De Koevoet in Amsterdam (repo plek van max G. en vele punkbandjes). Met Rob Vos, Michiel Wiering, Rob Kruit en ons werd daar de kiem gelegd voor de latere band Gimme Your Daughter & Hands-Off boys. Jacob Passander woonde een tijdje bij je in. Hij schreef een mooi gedicht ‘Tears from heaven’. We draaiden zware dubreggae, Manu Dibango, Franco maar ook Hazes en Lionel Ritchie.
In 1984 werd Gimme Your Daughter opgericht. Jij, Chiel en Rob repeteerden bij jouw thuis akoestisch en schreven de nummers. Het achtergrondkoor had je natuurlijk al lang tussen de lakens gehad. Toen we gingen optreden (met drum) was de band meteen super bekend in de Zaanstreek. Na een optreden in Drieluik op Koninginnedagavond 1985 werd je door Chiel en Rob uit de band gezet omdat je overdag in Amsterdam een paar biertjes had gedronken. Ja, dit was een hele serieuze band. Ik stopte even later ook en ging met Judy 7 maanden met rugzak naar Afrika.
Toen we terug kwamen in april 1986 was het beeld compleet veranderd. G.Y.D. bestond niet meer. Rob kreeg een hersenbloeding. Chiel was met Reniet Garfield gestart. Jij had een mooi net pak aan en speelde met Jan Abbing in Rock à Bob lekkere gladde rockabilly en rock and roll. Die Bennie. Je genoot met volle teugen. Dik geld verdienen en spelen tussen de F16’s op chique feesten van de luchtmacht. En een leuk singeltje gemaakt (heeft iemand deze opname nog??) En je woonde samen met nieuwe vriendin Maya (met dochter nathalie) die je vaak zag achter de kassa bij de Coop in Poelenburg. Maya had familie in Canada en dus was je geïnteresseerd geraakt in de Indianen cultuur met allerlei snuisterijen en antieke wapens. Het liefst demonstreerde je die ter plekke door uit het raam op vogels te schieten op de flat er tegenover. ‘Zijn geen dodelijke kogels hoor!’ Bennie pas op!
In deel 3 de ‘soundtrack van die periode met 1 opname van fairfax, 3 van de sessies en twee van Gimme Your Daughter. Vanaf eind jaren tachtig gingen we echt als ritmetandem samenwerken….

Trying to learn more about his dad by piecing together the stories he has gathered over the years, the son winds up re-creating his father's elusive life in a series of legends and myths inspired by the few facts he knows. Brian Samuel Epstein (19 September 1934 -- 27 August 1967) was an English music entrepreneur, best known for being the manager of the Beatles until his death in 1967. He had also served as manager for Cilla Black, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, the Remo Four, and the Cyrkle. After attending boarding schools, being in the army, and training to be an actor at RADA, he returned to Liverpool to join the Epstein family business, which later led to him naming his own company NEMS Enterprises; an acronym for North End Music Stores, which his family owned.
In 1962, Epstein paid for the Beatles to record a demonstration tape at Decca's London studios, but Decca declined to sign the group to a contract. After then approaching nearly all of the major recording companies in London and being rejected, Epstein met a record producer, George Martin, who offered a contract on behalf of EMI's small Parlophone label. When Beatlemania swept the UK in 1963, Epstein allowed a significant business opportunity to pass when he was besieged by offers from merchandisers, as he had already given away 90% of the merchandising rights to Stramsact in the UK, and Seltaeb (Beatles spelt backwards), in the US.
Epstein developed a drug dependence, but publicly supported the campaign for legalizing cannabis, whilst unsuccessfully attempting rehabilitation in the same year. His love of gambling also took a heavy financial toll. Epstein's homosexuality was a secret that had to be avoided throughout his public life, as it was not decriminalized in England and Wales until the year of his death of an accidental drug overdose at his home in London.
The Beatles' early success has been attributed to his management and sense of style. Paul McCartney said of him: "If anyone was the Fifth Beatle, it was Brian."

De plaat is van ongeveer 1955-56 en toen ik dit nummer hoorde moest ik gelijk denken aan "African Beat" (1962) van Bert Keampfert.Ook zijn nummer "A Swinging Safari" (1962) komt dicht in de buurt van deze muziekstijl.
At Sophies Joint is geschreven door Ellison Temba,en hij was tevens de leider van het orkest.
Alle info over deze muziek is welkom,dus als je iets weet laat dan gerust een berichtje achter;-)
De draaitafel is trouwens een Reloop - RP 4000 M3D s (heeft 33,45 en 78 toeren)

In deel 3 de chaotische wilde jaren tachtig. Jij woonde net met Sonja Babaubun samen in Poelenburg. Je werkte bij garage Zwart. Ik met Judy ook in Poelenburg. Werkte als fysio en studerend voor ‘bottenbreker’. Vaak samen eten en uit. Even niet samen in een band. Ik speelde door heel NL met The Clapband en (eigen)zappamuziek (kollagerock) met Max Gazolin. Natuurlijk draaiden we veel muziek samen en gingen naar concerten; veel Afrikaans en reggae maar ook Galagher, Police etc. In mijn ogen was je in die tijd wel super burgelijk. Jullie deden echt alles samen. Verstikkend gewoon. Maar wel stapelgek op elkaar!
Via via kwam je bij de Zaanse folkrock Fairfax: eigen nummers in de stijl van Eagles, Neil Young. Ik werd invaldrummer als jullie optredens hadden. We deden een hele goeie in Drieluik. Die jongens waren technische perfectionisten met de duurste spullen en versterking. Dik voor elkaar. Na een tijdje werd Sonja daar ook achtergrond zangeres. Je gaf hart en ziel aan de band maar de leadzanger ging er met jouw Sonja vandoor. Luizenstreek maar het kwaad was eigenlijk daarvoor al geschied. Je legde haar teveel jouw wil en wet op. Hier moet je van leren zei ik. Maar je was gekrenkt! Exit Fairfax.
In de jaren daarna leefde je als een ongeleid projectiel: spontaan, impulsief en met volle teugen. Veel leuke vrouwen, feesten in de Heinsiusstraat, Disco Dodo (mijn thuis en vaak afzakadres als alle kroegen dicht waren en jij en Franky weer eens in slaap vielen met een bak soep voor jullie neus), lachen, de Hubertus feestboot en natuurlijk muziek: jamsessies in het Geushuis in Zaandijk (Franky’s eerste keer) en in kraakcafé De Koevoet in Amsterdam (repo plek van max G. en vele punkbandjes). Met Rob Vos, Michiel Wiering, Rob Kruit en ons werd daar de kiem gelegd voor de latere band Gimme Your Daughter & Hands-Off boys. Jacob Passander woonde een tijdje bij je in. Hij schreef een mooi gedicht ‘Tears from heaven’. We draaiden zware dubreggae, Manu Dibango, Franco maar ook Hazes en Lionel Ritchie.
In 1984 werd Gimme Your Daughter opgericht. Jij, Chiel en Rob repeteerden bij jouw thuis akoestisch en schreven de nummers. Het achtergrondkoor had je natuurlijk al lang tussen de lakens gehad. Toen we gingen optreden (met drum) was de band meteen super bekend in de Zaanstreek. Na een optreden in Drieluik op Koninginnedagavond 1985 werd je door Chiel en Rob uit de band gezet omdat je overdag in Amsterdam een paar biertjes had gedronken. Ja, dit was een hele serieuze band. Ik stopte even later ook en ging met Judy 7 maanden met rugzak naar Afrika.
Toen we terug kwamen in april 1986 was het beeld compleet veranderd. G.Y.D. bestond niet meer. Rob kreeg een hersenbloeding. Chiel was met Reniet Garfield gestart. Jij had een mooi net pak aan en speelde met Jan Abbing in Rock à Bob lekkere gladde rockabilly en rock and roll. Die Bennie. Je genoot met volle teugen. Dik geld verdienen en spelen tussen de F16’s op chique feesten van de luchtmacht. En een leuk singeltje gemaakt (heeft iemand deze opname nog??) En je woonde samen met nieuwe vriendin Maya (met dochter nathalie) die je vaak zag achter de kassa bij de Coop in Poelenburg. Maya had familie in Canada en dus was je geïnteresseerd geraakt in de Indianen cultuur met allerlei snuisterijen en antieke wapens. Het liefst demonstreerde je die ter plekke door uit het raam op vogels te schieten op de flat er tegenover. ‘Zijn geen dodelijke kogels hoor!’ Bennie pas op!
In deel 3 de ‘soundtrack van die periode met 1 opname van fairfax, 3 van de sessies en twee van Gimme Your Daughter. Vanaf eind jaren tachtig gingen we echt als ritmetandem samenwerken….

He had also served as manager for Cilla Black, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, the Remo Four, and the Cyrkle. After attending boarding schools, being in the army, and training to be an actor at RADA, he returned to Liverpool to join the Epstein family business, which later led to him naming his own company NEMS Enterprises; an acronym for North End Music Stores, which his family owned.
In 1962, Epstein paid for the Beatles to record a demonstration tape at Decca's London studios, but Decca declined to sign the group to a contract. After then approaching nearly all of the major recording companies in London and being rejected, Epstein met a record producer, George Martin, who offered a contract on behalf of EMI's small Parlophone label. When Beatlemania swept the UK in 1963, Epstein allowed a significant business opportunity to pass when he was besieged by offers from merchandisers, as he had already given away 90% of the merchandising rights to Stramsact in the UK, and Seltaeb (Beatles spelt backwards), in the US.
Epstein developed a drug dependence, but publicly supported the campaign for legalizing cannabis, whilst unsuccessfully attempting rehabilitation in the same year. His love of gambling also took a heavy financial toll. Epstein's homosexuality was a secret that had to be avoided throughout his public life, as it was not decriminalized in England and Wales until the year of his death of an accidental drug overdose at his home in London.
The Beatles' early success has been attributed to his management and sense of style. Paul McCartney said of him: "If anyone was the Fifth Beatle, it was Brian."

In deel 3 de chaotische wilde jaren tachtig. Jij woonde net met Sonja Babaubun samen in Poelenburg. Je werkte bij garage Zwart. Ik met Judy ook in Poelenburg. Werkte als fysio en studerend voor ‘bottenbreker’. Vaak samen eten en uit. Even niet samen in een band. Ik speelde door heel NL met The Clapband en (eigen)zappamuziek (kollagerock) met Max Gazolin. Natuurlijk draaiden we veel muziek samen en gingen naar concerten; veel Afrikaans en reggae maar ook Galagher, Police etc. In mijn ogen was je in die tijd wel super burgelijk. Jullie deden echt alles samen. Verstikkend gewoon. Maar wel stapelgek op elkaar!
Via via kwam je bij de Zaanse folkrock Fairfax: eigen nummers in de stijl van Eagles, Neil Young. Ik werd invaldrummer als jullie optredens hadden. We deden een hele goeie in Drieluik. Die jongens waren technische perfectionisten met de duurste spullen en versterking. Dik voor elkaar. Na een tijdje werd Sonja daar ook achtergrond zangeres. Je gaf hart en ziel aan de band maar de leadzanger ging er met jouw Sonja vandoor. Luizenstreek maar het kwaad was eigenlijk daarvoor al geschied. Je legde haar teveel jouw wil en wet op. Hier moet je van leren zei ik. Maar je was gekrenkt! Exit Fairfax.
In de jaren daarna leefde je als een ongeleid projectiel: spontaan, impulsief en met volle teugen. Veel leuke vrouwen, feesten in de Heinsiusstraat, Disco Dodo (mijn thuis en vaak afzakadres als alle kroegen dicht waren en jij en Franky weer eens in slaap vielen met een bak soep voor jullie neus), lachen, de Hubertus feestboot en natuurlijk muziek: jamsessies in het Geushuis in Zaandijk (Franky’s eerste keer) en in kraakcafé De Koevoet in Amsterdam (repo plek van max G. en vele punkbandjes). Met Rob Vos, Michiel Wiering, Rob Kruit en ons werd daar de kiem gelegd voor de latere band Gimme Your Daughter & Hands-Off boys. Jacob Passander woonde een tijdje bij je in. Hij schreef een mooi gedicht ‘Tears from heaven’. We draaiden zware dubreggae, Manu Dibango, Franco maar ook Hazes en Lionel Ritchie.
In 1984 werd Gimme Your Daughter opgericht. Jij, Chiel en Rob repeteerden bij jouw thuis akoestisch en schreven de nummers. Het achtergrondkoor had je natuurlijk al lang tussen de lakens gehad. Toen we gingen optreden (met drum) was de band meteen super bekend in de Zaanstreek. Na een optreden in Drieluik op Koninginnedagavond 1985 werd je door Chiel en Rob uit de band gezet omdat je overdag in Amsterdam een paar biertjes had gedronken. Ja, dit was een hele serieuze band. Ik stopte even later ook en ging met Judy 7 maanden met rugzak naar Afrika.
Toen we terug kwamen in april 1986 was het beeld compleet veranderd. G.Y.D. bestond niet meer. Rob kreeg een hersenbloeding. Chiel was met Reniet Garfield gestart. Jij had een mooi net pak aan en speelde met Jan Abbing in Rock à Bob lekkere gladde rockabilly en rock and roll. Die Bennie. Je genoot met volle teugen. Dik geld verdienen en spelen tussen de F16’s op chique feesten van de luchtmacht. En een leuk singeltje gemaakt (heeft iemand deze opname nog??) En je woonde samen met nieuwe vriendin Maya (met dochter nathalie) die je vaak zag achter de kassa bij de Coop in Poelenburg. Maya had familie in Canada en dus was je geïnteresseerd geraakt in de Indianen cultuur met allerlei snuisterijen en antieke wapens. Het liefst demonstreerde je die ter plekke door uit het raam op vogels te schieten op de flat er tegenover. ‘Zijn geen dodelijke kogels hoor!’ Bennie pas op!
In deel 3 de ‘soundtrack van die periode met 1 opname van fairfax, 3 van de sessies en twee van Gimme Your Daughter. Vanaf eind jaren tachtig gingen we echt als ritmetandem samenwerken….

He had also served as manager for Cilla Black, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, the Remo Four, and the Cyrkle. After attending boarding schools, being in the army, and training to be an actor at RADA, he returned to Liverpool to join the Epstein family business, which later led to him naming his own company NEMS Enterprises; an acronym for North End Music Stores, which his family owned.
In 1962, Epstein paid for the Beatles to record a demonstration tape at Decca's London studios, but Decca declined to sign the group to a contract. After then approaching nearly all of the major recording companies in London and being rejected, Epstein met a record producer, George Martin, who offered a contract on behalf of EMI's small Parlophone label. When Beatlemania swept the UK in 1963, Epstein allowed a significant business opportunity to pass when he was besieged by offers from merchandisers, as he had already given away 90% of the merchandising rights to Stramsact in the UK, and Seltaeb (Beatles spelt backwards), in the US.
Epstein developed a drug dependence, but publicly supported the campaign for legalizing cannabis, whilst unsuccessfully attempting rehabilitation in the same year. His love of gambling also took a heavy financial toll. Epstein's homosexuality was a secret that had to be avoided throughout his public life, as it was not decriminalized in England and Wales until the year of his death of an accidental drug overdose at his home in London.
The Beatles' early success has been attributed to his management and sense of style. Paul McCartney said of him: "If anyone was the Fifth Beatle, it was Brian."

In a striking forerunner to such later television hits as Bachelor Father and Family Affair, both of which are centered on well-to-do uncles taking in their deceased siblings' children, Gildersleeve was a bachelor raising two children while, at first, administering a girdle manufacturing company ("If you want a better corset, of course, it's a Gildersleeve") and then for the bulk of the show's run, serving as Summerfield's water commissioner, between time with the ladies and nights with the boys. The Great Gildersleeve may have been the first broadcast show to be centered on a single parent balancing child-rearing, work, and a social life, done with taste and genuine wit, often at the expense of Gildersleeve's now slightly understated pomposity.
Many of the original episodes were co-written by John Whedon, father of Tom Whedon (who wrote The Golden Girls), and grandfather of Deadwood scripter Zack Whedon and Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog).
The key to the show was Peary, whose booming voice and facility with moans, groans, laughs, shudders and inflection was as close to body language and facial suggestion as a voice could get. The radio show Calling All Cars hired LAPD radio dispacher Jesse Rosenquist to be the voice of the dispatcher. Rosenquist was already famous because home radios could tune into early police radio frequencies. As the first police radio dispatcher presented to the public ear, his was the voice that actors went to when called upon for a radio dispatcher role.
The iconic television series Dragnet, with LAPD Detective Joe Friday as the primary character, was the first major media representation of the department. Real LAPD operations inspired Jack Webb to create the series and close cooperation with department officers let him make it as realistic as possible, including authentic police equipment and sound recording on-site at the police station.
Due to Dragnet's popularity, LAPD Chief Parker "became, after J. Edgar Hoover, the most well known and respected law enforcement official in the nation". In the 1960s, when the LAPD under Chief Thomas Reddin expanded its community relations division and began efforts to reach out to the African-American community, Dragnet followed suit with more emphasis on internal affairs and community policing than solving crimes, the show's previous mainstay.

Our Miss Brooks was a hit on radio from the outset; within eight months of its launch as a regular series, the show landed several honors, including four for Eve Arden, who won polls in four individual publications of the time. Arden had actually been the third choice to play the title role. Harry Ackerman, West Coast director of programming, wanted Shirley Booth for the part, but as he told historian Gerald Nachman many years later, he realized Booth was too focused on the underpaid downside of public school teaching at the time to have fun with the role.
Lucille Ball was believed to have been the next choice, but she was already committed to My Favorite Husband and didn't audition. Chairman Bill Paley, who was friendly with Arden, persuaded her to audition for the part. With a slightly rewritten audition script--Osgood Conklin, for example, was originally written as a school board president but was now written as the incoming new Madison principal--Arden agreed to give the newly-revamped show a try.
Produced by Larry Berns and written by director Al Lewis, Our Miss Brooks premiered on July 19, 1948. According to radio critic John Crosby, her lines were very "feline" in dialogue scenes with principal Conklin and would-be boyfriend Boynton, with sharp, witty comebacks. The interplay between the cast--blustery Conklin, nebbishy Denton, accommodating Harriet, absentminded Mrs. Davis, clueless Boynton, scheming Miss Enright--also received positive reviews.
Arden won a radio listeners' poll by Radio Mirror magazine as the top ranking comedienne of 1948-49, receiving her award at the end of an Our Miss Brooks broadcast that March. "I'm certainly going to try in the coming months to merit the honor you've bestowed upon me, because I understand that if I win this two years in a row, I get to keep Mr. Boynton," she joked. But she was also a hit with the critics; a winter 1949 poll of newspaper and magazine radio editors taken by Motion Picture Daily named her the year's best radio comedienne.
For its entire radio life, the show was sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive-Peet, promoting Palmolive soap, Lustre Creme shampoo and Toni hair care products. The radio series continued until 1957, a year after its television life ended.

Harry Ackerman, West Coast director of programming, wanted Shirley Booth for the part, but as he told historian Gerald Nachman many years later, he realized Booth was too focused on the underpaid downside of public school teaching at the time to have fun with the role.
Lucille Ball was believed to have been the next choice, but she was already committed to My Favorite Husband and didn't audition. Chairman Bill Paley, who was friendly with Arden, persuaded her to audition for the part. With a slightly rewritten audition script--Osgood Conklin, for example, was originally written as a school board president but was now written as the incoming new Madison principal--Arden agreed to give the newly-revamped show a try.
Produced by Larry Berns and written by director Al Lewis, Our Miss Brooks premiered on July 19, 1948. According to radio critic John Crosby, her lines were very "feline" in dialogue scenes with principal Conklin and would-be boyfriend Boynton, with sharp, witty comebacks. The interplay between the cast--blustery Conklin, nebbishy Denton, accommodating Harriet, absentminded Mrs. Davis, clueless Boynton, scheming Miss Enright--also received positive reviews.
Arden won a radio listeners' poll by Radio Mirror magazine as the top ranking comedienne of 1948-49, receiving her award at the end of an Our Miss Brooks broadcast that March. "I'm certainly going to try in the coming months to merit the honor you've bestowed upon me, because I understand that if I win this two years in a row, I get to keep Mr. Boynton," she joked. But she was also a hit with the critics; a winter 1949 poll of newspaper and magazine radio editors taken by Motion Picture Daily named her the year's best radio comedienne.
For its entire radio life, the show was sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive-Peet, promoting Palmolive soap, Lustre Creme shampoo and Toni hair care products. The radio series continued until 1957, a year after its television life ended.

One of the premier drama programs of the Golden Age of Radio, was subtitled "radio's outstanding theater of thrills" and focused on suspense thriller-type scripts, usually featuring leading Hollywood actors of the era. Approximately 945 episodes were broadcast during its long run, and more than 900 are extant.
Suspense went through several major phases, characterized by different hosts, sponsors, and director/producers. Formula plot devices were followed for all but a handful of episodes: the protagonist was usually a normal person suddenly dropped into a threatening or bizarre situation; solutions were "withheld until the last possible second"; and evildoers were usually punished in the end.
