Two separate incidents here, with one leading to the other. Back in 1996 before a New Japan card, Hawk & Savage had a blow up backstage. Three years later at a concert in the US the two reportedly clashed again. On November 6, 1999, at the Sun Dome Arena in Tampa, Florida, Savage & his girlfriend Gorgeous George & another woman ran into Hawk & his wife. According to reports Hawk extended his hand out of courtesy, but Savage battered it away & punched him in the head knocking him down & out. Meanwhile George & the other woman allegedly attacked Hawk's wife, cutting her open & tearing out lumps of her hair. Hawk later claimed that he had sought legal advice & was considering filing a lawsuit against Savage.
Road Warriors ~ Danger, Death, & the Rush of Wrestling [2011]
“I remember one show in particular on July 16, 1996 at the Nakajima Sports Center in Sapporo, Hokkaido. I’m talking about a little altercation between my own partner & Macho Man Randy Savage. The story goes that while at a Japanese hibachi dinner a couple years earlier in Tampa, Hawk & his fiancée, Dale, & Savage were all seated at the same table. When Hawk got up to use the bathroom, Savage leaned over to Dale & said, “Hey, how’d you like for me to take you under the table & show you what a real man’s like?” Startled, Dale ignored the Slim Jim spokesman & opted to keep the incident quiet from Hawk for about two years. When she finally did open up, his reaction was something along the lines of “What? He said what? I’ll kill that motherfucker next time I see him.” Well, that next time was right there in Japan that night. The whole time we were getting ready, Hawk kept saying, “I can’t stand it. I’m going to confront that motherfucker when we’re done.” Randy was wrestling Ric Flair for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship & was actually all geared up & literally about to walk through the curtain when he got a very angry Mike Hegstrand right in his face. “Heard about what you said to my old lady at the restaurant, motherfucker.”Savage denied it. “Oh,” Hawk said, “so you’re calling her a liar?” And with that, Hawk leaned over the railing & smashed Savage right in the face with a powerful bitch slap. Crack! Macho’s trademark neon sunglasses & cowboy hat went flying. I saw Tatsumi Fujinami grab & hold up the stunned Savage as I grabbed Hawk to prevent him from following up with anything more. Sting & Keiji Mutoh were there watching the whole thing. Hawk was still raging. “That’s what you get for messing with my girl, asshole. If you want more, I’ll be in the parking lot after the show.” Randy was steaming to get his hands on Hawk, but he had to get to the ring. There’s no doubt in my mind that Savage was seeing red that entire match from thinking about Hawk. Evidently he never forgot or forgave Hawk for the incident, either, because a few years down the road, they had a rematch at a Kid Rock concert.” - Joe Laurinaitis

RAVEN: Somebody told me something about Savage & Hawk having an incident?
MELTZER: Savage & Hawk had an incident at a Kid Rock concert in Tampa a couple of months back where Savage sucker-punched Hawk. Stephanie, his girlfriend, Gorgeous George, like you know like, tore the hair out of Hawk’s wife & I think Hawk’s filing a lawsuit against ‘em.
RAVEN: Really? What was that all about?
MELTZER: Yeah, the back story was that about 3 or 4 years ago in Japan, Hawk had sucker-punched Savage; they were either arguing over a pizza or over a girl.
RAVEN: I like the pizza, it makes it a better story. (Dave laughs)
MELTZER: So anyway, they were backstage at this Kid Rock concert & Savage saw Hawk & I guess Hawk probably wasn’t looking so he like dove over people & threw the punch. (Dave laughs)
RAVEN: Did he knock him down?
MELTZER: Yeah, knocked him down, & then while that was happening, Gorgeous George & another woman, ripped the hair out of Hawk’s wife’s head & I know that there were lawsuits threatened, I never heard that they were actually filed.
RAVEN: Was the fight just like a one punch fight? or did the guys have to pull the girls apart ? or...
MELTZER: No no, Hawk said, no, Savage only hit him once, & Hawk was laid out & Hawk admitted being knocked down but Hawk basically said he got up & was gonna’ kick his ass, but everyone you know, pulled them apart. Whereas Savage’s version was he punched him once & Hawk stayed down.

Road Warrior Hawk
Michael Hegstrand (September 12, 1957 – October 19, 2003) was an American professional wrestler. He is best known as Road Warrior Hawk, one half of the tag team known as The Road Warriors (The Legion of Doom in WWF), with Road Warrior Animal. Outside of The Road Warriors, Hawk was a sporadic challenger for world heavyweight championships on pay-per-view from the late 1980s to the mid 1990s.
Early life
While living in Minneapolis, Hegstrand attended Patrick Henry High School where he graduated in 1976. After high school, he had various odd jobs to make ends meet such as a butcher. Due to his size and love of power lifting, he was an imposing figure and thus a very effective bouncer. He would work as a bouncer at Gramma B's in the Twin Cities where he caught the eye of Eddie Sharkey, a well known wrestling trainer. Sharkey thought that Hegstrand, along with Joe Laurinaitis, Rick Rood and Barry Darsow could make it big in professional wrestling.
Career
Hegstrand had started his career as part of the Traveling All-Stars. He was billed as "Crusher Von Haig" and wrestled in Vancouver. He was considered small at the time and people felt he lacked the skill to make it in the business. Hawk soon grew weary of the road and would get homesick. He traveled back home with another Sharkey trainee, Rick Rude. In 1983 fate struck these two again. Animal's partner for the night would find himself in legal trouble. Needing a quick replacement, Ole Anderson gave Hawk a call. They would be paired together again, this time as tag team partners. Anderson gave them the name the Road Warriors. Neither man knew at the time that they would make wrestling history that day.

Tag team
Tag team wrestling is a type of professional wrestling in which matches are contested between teams of multiple wrestlers. A tag team may be made up of wrestlers who normally wrestle in singles competition, but more commonly are made of established teams who wrestle regularly as a unit and have a team name and identity.
In most team matches, only one competitor per team is allowed in the ring at a time. This status as the active or legal wrestler may be transferred by physical contact, most commonly a palm-to-palm "tag" which resembles a high five.
The team-based match has been a mainstay of professional wrestling since the mid twentieth century, and most promotions have sanctioned a championship division for tag teams.
The term "tag team" has since become used in common parlance to describe two or more people who alternate or cooperate in participation in an activity, and "tag-teaming" to describe the act of alternating with an ally, e.g. a couple tag-teaming in an argument with another person.

Hawk
Hawk is a common name for some small to medium-sized diurnal birds of prey, widely distributed and varying greatly in size.
The terms buteonine hawk and accipitrine hawk may be used to distinguish the two types, in regions where hawk applies to both. The term "true hawk" (with scare quotes) is sometimes used for the accipitrine hawks, in regions where buzzard is preferred for the buteonine hawks.
All these groups are members of the Accipitridae family, which includes the hawks and buzzards as well as kites, harriers and eagles. Some authors use "hawk" generally for any small to medium Accipitrid that is not an eagle.

You can beat the Legion of Doom and get their titles via a count-out in the Tag Team portion of the game (Saturday Night's Main Event). This is incorrect : in pro wrestling, a championship only changes hands via a pinfall or a submission. If the champion/champions are counted-out or are disqualified, they lose the match, but they hold on to their titles. The rules for the Royal Rumble are not quite correct. In WrestleFest, you can be eliminated by being thrown from the ring, or the traditional means (pin, submission, etc.). This is not correct. Ever since the WWF Royal Rumble started, the rules for elimination have never changed. The ONLY way to be eliminated is to be thrown over the top rope. No pinfalls, no submissions. In fact, the referee should not be in the ring during a Royal Rumble as he remains on the outside of the ring to confirm elimination has occurred. Powerslam Magazine issue 67 [February 2000] Two separate incidents here, with one leading to the other. Back in 1996 before a New Japan card, Hawk & Savage had a blow up backstage. Three years later at a concert in the US the two reportedly clashed again. On November 6, 1999, at the Sun Dome Arena in Tampa, Florida, Savage & his girlfriend Gorgeous George & another woman ran into Hawk & his wife. According to reports Hawk extended his hand out of courtesy, but Savage battered it away & punched him in the head knocking him down & out. Meanwhile George & the other woman allegedly attacked Hawk's wife, cutting her open & tearing out lumps of her hair. Road Warriors ~ Danger, Death, & the Rush of Wrestling [2011]
“I remember one show in particular on July 16, 1996 at the Nakajima Sports Center in Sapporo, Hokkaido. I’m talking about a little altercation between my own partner & Macho Man Randy Savage. The story goes that while at a Japanese hibachi dinner a couple years earlier in Tampa, Hawk & his fiancée, Dale, & Savage were all seated at the same table. When Hawk got up to use the bathroom, Savage leaned over to Dale & said, “Hey, how’d you like for me to take you under the table & show you what a real man’s like?” Startled, Dale ignored the Slim Jim spokesman & opted to keep the incident quiet from Hawk for about two years. When she finally did open up, his reaction was something along the lines of “What? He said what? I’ll kill that motherfucker next time I see him.” Well, that next time was right there in Japan that night. The whole time we were getting ready, Hawk kept saying, “I can’t stand it. I’m going to confront that motherfucker when we’re done.” Randy was wrestling Ric Flair for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship & was actually all geared up & literally about to walk through the curtain when he got a very angry Mike Hegstrand right in his face. “Heard about what you said to my old lady at the restaurant, motherfucker.”Savage denied it. “Oh,” Hawk said, “so you’re calling her a liar?” And with that, Hawk leaned over the railing & smashed Savage right in the face with a powerful bitch slap. Crack! Macho’s trademark neon sunglasses & cowboy hat went flying. I saw Tatsumi Fujinami grab & hold up the stunned Savage as I grabbed Hawk to prevent him from following up with anything more. Sting & Keiji Mutoh were there watching the whole thing. Hawk was still raging. “That’s what you get for messing with my girl, asshole. Two separate incidents here, with one leading to the other. Back in 1996 before a New Japan card, Hawk & Savage had a blow up backstage. Three years later at a concert in the US the two reportedly clashed again. On November 6, 1999, at the Sun Dome Arena in Tampa, Florida, Savage & his girlfriend Gorgeous George & another woman ran into Hawk & his wife. According to reports Hawk extended his hand out of courtesy, but Savage battered it away & punched him in the head knocking him down & out. Meanwhile George & the other woman allegedly attacked Hawk's wife, cutting her open & tearing out lumps of her hair. Hawk later claimed that he had sought legal advice & was considering filing a lawsuit against Savage.

“I remember one show in particular on July 16, 1996 at the Nakajima Sports Center in Sapporo, Hokkaido. I’m talking about a little altercation between my own partner & Macho Man Randy Savage. The story goes that while at a Japanese hibachi dinner a couple years earlier in Tampa, Hawk & his fiancée, Dale, & Savage were all seated at the same table. When Hawk got up to use the bathroom, Savage leaned over to Dale & said, “Hey, how’d you like for me to take you under the table & show you what a real man’s like?” Startled, Dale ignored the Slim Jim spokesman & opted to keep the incident quiet from Hawk for about two years. When she finally did open up, his reaction was something along the lines of “What? He said what? I’ll kill that motherfucker next time I see him.” Well, that next time was right there in Japan that night. The whole time we were getting ready, Hawk kept saying, “I can’t stand it. I’m going to confront that motherfucker when we’re done.” Randy was wrestling Ric Flair for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship & was actually all geared up & literally about to walk through the curtain when he got a very angry Mike Hegstrand right in his face. “Heard about what you said to my old lady at the restaurant, motherfucker.”Savage denied it. “Oh,” Hawk said, “so you’re calling her a liar?” And with that, Hawk leaned over the railing & smashed Savage right in the face with a powerful bitch slap. Crack! Macho’s trademark neon sunglasses & cowboy hat went flying. I saw Tatsumi Fujinami grab & hold up the stunned Savage as I grabbed Hawk to prevent him from following up with anything more. Sting & Keiji Mutoh were there watching the whole thing. Hawk was still raging. “That’s what you get for messing with my girl, asshole. The game's announcer incorrectly announces Sergeant Slaughter's finishing move. Slaughter's finishing move (digging a knuckle into the opponent's temple) is announced as a 'Cobra Clutch', whereas that move is called 'The Torture Bar'. A Cobra Clutch looks totally different : DiBiase's Million Dollar Dream is a Cobra Clutch.
You can beat the Legion of Doom and get their titles via a count-out in the Tag Team portion of the game (Saturday Night's Main Event). This is incorrect : in pro wrestling, a championship only changes hands via a pinfall or a submission. If the champion/champions are counted-out or are disqualified, they lose the match, but they hold on to their titles.
The rules for the Royal Rumble are not quite correct. In WrestleFest, you can be eliminated by being thrown from the ring, or the traditional means (pin, submission, etc.). This is not correct. Ever since the WWF Royal Rumble started, the rules for elimination have never changed. The ONLY way to be eliminated is to be thrown over the top rope. No pinfalls, no submissions.
