Purana Qila (Hindi: पुराना क़िला, Urdu: پُرانا قلعہ, translation: Old Fort), is the inner citadel of the city of Dina-panah, founded by the second Mughal Emperor, Humayun in 1533 and completed five years later. Purana Qila and its environs flourished as the "sixth city of Delhi".

The founder of the Suri Dynasty, Sher Shah Suri, defeated Humayun in 1540, renaming the fort Shergarh; he added several more structures in the complex during his five year reign until his death in 1545.

Subsequently Islam Shah took over the reins of North India from this fort, but later shifted his capital to Gwalior, as it was supposedly deemed a safer capital in that period. After Islam Shah's death in 1553, Adil Shah Suri took charge of North India, and the fort remained neglected. Adil Shah shifted his capital further east to Chunar in present day Uttar Pradesh. Humayun, who was based in Kabul at this time, seized the opportunity to re-capture the citadel and the seat of Delhi in 1555, fifteen years after abandoning it following his defeats at the hands of the Suri Dynasty in the Battles of Chausa and Kannauj. Humayun's reign proved brief thereafter; he died following a tragic accidental fall within the fort complex at Sher Mandal only a year later, in Jan. 1556.

Sonu Nigam (born 30 July 1973 in Faridabad, Haryana, India) is an Indian singer whose songs have been featured in numerous Hindi and Kannada movies, as well as films in Tamil, Assamese, Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi and Telugu. He has also released numerous Indi-pop albums and acted in a few Hindi movies. He had changed the spelling of his last name from 'Nigam' to 'Niigaam' in accordance with numerology, but later returned to the original spelling 'Nigam'.

Sonu Nigam began his singing career at the age of three, when he joined his father on stage to sing Mohammed Rafi's "Kya Hua Tera Vaada, Wo Kasam Wo Irada". From then on Sonu accompanied his father on his singing appearances at weddings and parties. In his teenage years he successfully participated in several music competitions. He moved to Mumbai with his father to begin his Bollywood singing career at the age of 19.

His initial years in Mumbai proved to be a struggle, beginning by singing covers of Mohammed Rafi songs, mainly for a number of Rafi Ki Yaadein albums released by T-Series. T-Series promoter Gulshan Kumar played a key role in identifying Nigam's talent by giving him a chance to reach a larger audience. These albums contributed to T-Series for some years although Nigam's singing style was regarded by some to be like that of a "Rafi clone". Nigam's first movie song as a playback singer was Janam (1990), which was never officially released. He also got a break in radio commercials until he appeared on the popular TV show Sa Re Ga Ma, after which there was no turning back. He was trained by classical singer Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan.

Warsi Brothers are an Indian Qawwali musical group, consisting of brothers Nazeer Ahmed Khan Warsi and Naseer Ahmed Khan Warsi (the Qawwāls), along with eight accompanists (the humnawa or party). They are based in Hyderabad.

Nazeer and Naseer are the sons of Zaheer Ahmed Khan Warsi, who along with his father, Aziz Ahmed Khan Warsi, constituted the previous incarnation of the Warsi Brothers. Muhammed Siddique Khan, the ancestor of Warsi brothers, was a singer in the Mughal durbar. In 1857, when the Mughal empire dissolved, he became a court singer for the Nizam of Hyderabad. Muhammed Siddique Khan was the nephew of Tanras Khan.

Warsi Brothers carry on their legacy by touring all over the world and are known for their intense performances.^{[citation needed]} They perform Amir Khusro's qawwalis in their classical style.
