January 21st, 2018 -- For my 5th outing of this year, I decided to leave behind the jigging and go with the good old "still fishing." Thus, I took my dropper loop rig and went to the Upper Cooper River in Haddonfield, NJ for some Multi-Species fishing!
"Still-Fishing" is of course no secret; however, it is not as simple of a technique as folks think. A huge part of it lies in selecting the proper spot to use it! You can still-fish all you want; however, if you pick an unproductive spot, you won't catch anything in the end. Therefore, always make sure to still-fish at the beginning or end of deeper pockets of water, or closer to structure, if you want to catch some fish!

Haddonfield, New Jersey
Haddonfield is a borough located in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough had a total population of 11,593, reflecting a decline of 66 (-0.6%) from the 11,659 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 31 (+0.3%) from the 11,628 counted in the 1990 Census.
Haddonfield was incorporated by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 6, 1875, within portions of Haddon Township following a referendum on the same day. The borough became an independent municipality in 1894. The borough was named for Elizabeth Haddon, an early settler of the area.
History
The Haddonfield area was occupied by Lenni Lenape Native Americans. The Lenape disappeared from the local area when settlers arrived. Arrowheads and pottery shards have been found by residents by the banks of the Cooper River, hinting that there was a Native American settlement in Haddonfield at one point in time.
On October 23, 1682, Francis Collins, an English Quaker and a bricklayer by trade, became the first settler within the boundaries of what today is Haddonfield. Collins soon built a house, "Mountwell," on a tract of 400 acres. Haddonfield was further developed by Elizabeth Haddon (1680–1762), whose Quaker father, John Haddon, bought a 500 acres (2.0 km2) tract of land in the English colony of West Jersey to escape religious persecution. Elizabeth set sail alone from Southwark, England to the New World in 1701. Shortly after her arrival, she made a marriage proposal to John Estaugh, a Quaker minister, and they were married in 1702. The town was named for John Haddon, though he never came to America.

A beauty salon or beauty parlor (beauty parlour) (or sometimes beauty shop) is an establishment dealing with cosmetic treatments for men and women. Other variations of this type of business include hair salons and spas.
There is a distinction between a beauty salon and a hair salon and although many small businesses do offer both sets of treatments; beauty salons provide more generalized services related to skin health, facial aesthetic, foot care, nail manicures, aromatherapy, — even meditation, oxygen therapy, mud baths, and many other services.
Beauty treatments
Massage for the body is a popular beauty treatment, with various techniques offering benefits to the skin (including the application of beauty products) and for increasing mental well-being. Hair removal is offered at some beauty salons through treatments such as waxing and threading. Some beauty salons style hair instead of going to a separate hair salon, and some also offer sun tanning. Other treatments of the face are known as facials. Specialized beauty salons known as nail salons offer treatments such as manicures and pedicures for the nails. A manicure is a treatment for the hands, incorporating the fingernails and cuticles and often involving the application of nail polish, while a pedicure involves treatment of the feet, incorporating the toenails and the softening or removal of calluses.

"Still-Fishing" is of course no secret; however, it is not as simple of a technique as folks think. A huge part of it lies in selecting the proper spot to use it! You can still-fish all you want; however, if you pick an unproductive spot, you won't catch anything in the end. Therefore, always make sure to still-fish at the beginning or end of deeper pockets of water, or closer to structure, if you want to catch some fish!

Haddy, New Jersey's State Dinosaur
One of the most important dinosaur discoveries in the world took place in New Jersey. Now the official state dinosaur, Hadrosaurus foulkii, nicknamed "Haddy," was discovered in Haddonfield, NJ in 1858. A cast of the skeleton was on display at the New Jersey State Museum throughout 2014. Paleoartist Jason Poole was drew a full size representation, also on display. We saw the train being tested in January of this year. (See video link below). With a few weeks of planning and lots of camera preparation, this trip turned out to be excellent. Starting off at NJT's Hamilton Station, we'll skip ahead to Newark Penn Station. At Newark, we'll board Westbound ACES Train 7171. However, it was during the 1880s and 1890s that electrification of trolley cars, elevated and subway trains made rapid public transit possible in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.
The Philadelphia and Reading Railroad Company.
In 1889, the Reading Railroad decided to build a train depot, passenger station, and company headquarters on the corner of 12th and Market Streets. The move came eight years after the Pennsylvania Railroad opened its Broad Street Station several blocks away at 15th and Market Streets, and one year after the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad opened its 24th Street Station at 24th and Chestnut Streets. The complex was fronted on Market by an eight-story headhouse that housed the passenger station and company headquarters. Reading Terminal served the railroad's inter-city and regional rail trains, many of which are still running as part of the SEPTA Regional Rail system that connects Center City with outlying neighborhoods and suburbs, especially to the north. Many of those trains would be converted to electric power in a project that began in 1928 and basically completed in 1933. Daily traffic peaked during World War II with up to 45,000 daily passengers, then declined in the 1950s with the advance of road and air travel. The Reading declared bankruptcy on November 23, 1971. The shed was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976.
PRR Railroad Ferry to Camden
Yet because no bridge crossed the width of the Delaware between Philadelphia and Camden until 1926, ferries provided a vital connection for rail passengers bound for New York and points north. Beginning in the 1850s many companies, including the Camden and Atlantic (C&A;) Railroad and the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR), acquired ferries to augment their existing lines. In 1854, the C&A; purchased the Cooper family’s operations and offered more frequent service between Camden and Philadelphia.
The ferries’ vehicle-carrying business was greatly reduced by the 1926 opening of the Delaware River Bridge, now called the Ben Franklin, but the boats kept steaming across the river. A major impact on ferry facilities and operations was also caused by the two railroads’ combining most of their South Jersey lines in 1933 into the Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines. Trains on ex-Reading lines were rerouted to and from the Pennsylvania’s train and ferry terminal, and the Reading’s Kaighn’s Point terminal and ferry were abandoned in 1934. The last of the railroad-owned passenger and vehicle ferries which served our area, the Pennsylvania Railroad’s Philadelphia and Camden Ferry, was in itself a colorful transportation system. The boats on this line were sturdy vessels with steel hulls and upper structures and basically painted in the same Tuscan red color scheme as the passenger train cars of both the Pennsy and the Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines. The name “Pennsylvania Railroad” and the boats’ individual names were emblazoned in gold letters on their sides. The names of the vessels were also lettered in gold on gold-bordered black signs on their pilot houses – one facing Camden, the other facing Philadelphia. The Pennsy’s logo, a bright red keystone in a circle with intertwined gold letters, PRR, was flamboyantly displayed on both sides of each boat’s black smokestack. The ferry service was discontinued in 1952 and, by 1957, the terminal had been torn down. PRR passenger ferries were named after Southern New Jersey towns such as Bridgeton, Ventnor and Haddonfield. Time to cross the Delaware river was less than eight minutes.

In February of 2009, New Jersey Transit and 3 Atlantic City Casino/Resorts began operating the ACES Train (Atlantic City Express Service). We saw the train being tested in January of this year. (See video link below). With a few weeks of planning and lots of camera preparation, this trip turned out to be excellent. Starting off at NJT's Hamilton Station, we'll skip ahead to Newark Penn Station. At Newark, we'll board Westbound ACES Train 7171. With some great train races, along with two crossings of the Delaware River -- the ride to Philadelphia is action-packed. But the ride gets even better upon switching onto the Atlantic City Line. With an unbelievable amount of grade crossings, the K5LA horn on our train is busy the whole way through. However, there were a lot of passengers on the trip to Atlantic City. The less-crowded return trip to New York yielded MUCH better K5LA audio!
So come along with us on a journey from Hamilton to Newark to Atlantic City... and return! With ex-Amtrak P40's, ex-Conrail / CNJ GP40's and much, much more... this is one Trainiac Production you won't want to miss!

January 21st, 2018 -- For my 5th outing of this year, I decided to leave behind the jigging and go with the good old "still fishing." Thus, I took my dropper loop rig and went to the Upper Cooper River in Haddonfield, NJ for some Multi-Species fishing!
"Still-Fishing" is of course no secret; however, it is not as simple of a technique as folks think. A huge part of it lies in selecting the proper spot to use it! You can still-fish all you want; however, if you pick an unproductive spot, you won't catch anything in the end. Therefore, always make sure to still-fish at the beginning or end of deeper pockets of water, or closer to structure, if you want to catch some fish!

January 21st, 2018 -- For my 5th outing of this year, I decided to leave behind the jigging and go with the good old "still fishing." Thus, I took my dropper loop rig and went to the Upper Cooper River in Haddonfield, NJ for some Multi-Species fishing!
"Still-Fishing" is of course no secret; however, it is not as simple of a technique as folks think. A huge part of it lies in selecting the proper spot to use it! You can still-fish all you want; however, if you pick an unproductive spot, you won't catch anything in the end. Therefore, always make sure to still-fish at the beginning or end of deeper pockets of water, or closer to structure, if you want to catch some fish!

October 3rd, 2017 -- For my 125th outing of this year, I decided to go to Haddonfield, NJ, to check how active the Sunfish and Crappie were after the temperature drops of this week.
Not too surprisingly, the Sunfish were quite lethargic and not fully committed to the lures whereas the Crappie were promptly on it! :)
Oh...I also included 7 minutes of a "heart-to-heart" talk in this video. Definitely something that I should let you guys know, right? As for now, I am no longer part of the Mystery Tackle Box team.

During the length of our fishing session, we caught the following Species of fish: Green Sunfish X Bluegill Hybrid, Green Sunfish, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Black Crappie, White Catfish, Brown Bullhead, Yellow Perch, and Common Carp. A total of 10 whooping Species in one session.

03/22 -- As you guys know, I don't just advertise anything here. If it made to the Extreme Philly Fishing YouTube Channel, you bet it is a product that I trust! In this video, I field tested the "Mummy Worms" by EuroTackle! It was a quantity over quality day; however, by no means it was bad. I finished my session with 52 fishes, including the following Species of fish: Bluegill, Black Crappie, and Largemouth Bass. Overall, I would say that the Mummy Worm works awesomely for my Multi-Species fishing, and I will be switching from Trout Magnets to these versatile Mummy Worms from now on! Highly recommended.

03/22 -- As you guys know, I don't just advertise anything here. If it made to the Extreme Philly Fishing YouTube Channel, you bet it is a product that I trust! In this video, I field tested the "Mummy Worms" by EuroTackle! It was a quantity over quality day; however, by no means it was bad. I finished my session with 52 fishes, including the following Species of fish: Bluegill, Black Crappie, and Largemouth Bass. Overall, I would say that the Mummy Worm works awesomely for my Multi-Species fishing, and I will be switching from Trout Magnets to these versatile Mummy Worms from now on! Highly recommended.

TMZ reported Thursday alleged Austin (Texas) bomber Mark Anthony Conditt recorded a 25-minute video on his phone confessing to the crimes before he was killed by his own explosive device, police said.
