Hydrostatic testing will be offered as well Coastal Fire and Safety is a full-service life safety company that is based in Pascagoula. We are members of both the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the National Association of Fire Equipment Distributors (NAFED). Our staff has attended NAFED University for training in portable fire extinguisher inspections, service, and maintenance. We have our own closed-system dry chemical recharge facility and also have the equipment necessary to perform hydrostatic testing on low-pressure cylinders as required by NFPA 10 to make sure we meet all of their standards. We follow NFPA specifications in all inspections and service and also the manufacturers’ specific requirements in reference to recharging, refilling, and testing of portable fire extinguishers. All of our service technicians are ICC Certified. We also have the ability to inspect and test both cartridge operated (cart-op) industrial portable extinguishers and wheeled units up to 350 pounds. In the near future we will have the equipment necessary to recharge high pressure CO2 extinguishers. We stock spare parts for most major brands and can return discharged units to service quickly. We will pick up and drop off within Jackson County and have spares available to ensure that you are not without coverage. In addition to the inspection, service, recharging, and hydrostatic testing of all major brands, we are also authorized dealers for various extinguisher types including: ABC Dry Chemical, BC Dry Chemical, Purple K Dry Chemical (including hi-flow types that are required for 3 dimensional fires, obstacle fires, and pressurized fuel fires), Water Mist, Halotron I, and FE-36 Clean Agent (for sensitive areas such as communication and data rooms and paper archives), AR-AFFF Foam (for hydrocarbon fuel and polar solvent fires and spills), K-Class wet chemical (for cooking areas), D Class Extinguishers (for combustible metals), Pressurized water, and CO2. We are dealers for Buckeye brand fire extinguishers that are manufactured in North Carolina. We also can supply a number of other brands including Amerex, Ansul, Badger, and Kidde, if required.
