The Yazidis (also Yezidis, Êzidî; i/jəˈziːdiːz/ yə-ZEE-dees) are an ethno-religious groupindigenous to northern Mesopotamia whose strictly endogamous, and ancient religion Yazidism (or Sharfadin) is not linked to Zoroastrianism but linked to ancient Mesopotamian religions; however Yazidis form a distinct and independent religious community and have their own culture. Yazidis' religion bans marriage to non-Yazidis, however not all Yazidi people adhere this ban. They live primarily in the Nineveh Province of Iraq. Additional communities in Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Iran, and Syria have been in decline since the 1990s as a result of significant migration to Europe, especially to Germany.
The Yazidis are monotheists, believing in God as creator of the world, which he has placed under the care of seven holy beings or angels, the chief of whom is Melek Taus, the Peacock Angel. The Peacock Angel, as world-ruler, causes both good and bad to befall individuals, and this ambivalent character is reflected in myths of his own temporary fall from God's favour, before his remorseful tears extinguished the fires of his hellish prison and he was reconciled with God.
The Iraqi Yazidi and Yazidism Religion - Documentaries The Yazidis, also Yezidi, Ezidi or Yazdani, are a Kurdish ethnoreligious group. They live largely in the Nineveh Province of Iraq. Additional communities in Armenia, Georgia, and Syria have been in decline since the 1990s as an outcome of significant migration to Europe, especially to Germany. Their syncretic religion, known as Yazidism and qualified by Mehrdad Izady as a sort of Yazdanism, has links to Zoroastrianism and ancient Mesopotamian faiths. Yazidis are monotheists, believing in God as developer of the world, which he has put under the treatment of seven divine beings or angels, the chief of whom is Melek Taus, the Peacock Angel, who, as world-ruler, induces both bad and great to befall individuals, an ambivalence reflected...

After the Islamic State overran parts of northern Iraq, tens of thousands of Yazidis were forced into the Sinjar mountain range, where Islamic State militants — who consider the Yazidi devil worshippers — surrounded them. President Obama claimed on August 14 that the US military intervention in Iraq broke the siege of the trapped Yazidi civilians in the Sinjar mountains. But the Yazidi themselves disagree. Instead, they are adamant that they owe their rescue from the surrounding Islamic State militants to the Syrian Kurdish fighters of the People's Protection Units (YPG). The YPG has been fighting the Is...

Iraqi Kurdish MP from the ancient Yazidi faith, Vian Dakhil, gave a very emotional appeal in the Iraqi Parliament while in tears to rescue the Yazidis of Iraq from being exterminated by the Wahhabi Islamic group, the Islamic State, which is formerly known as the "Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL). She states that 500 Yazidi men have been slaughtered by ISIL and that Yazidi women are being taken as slaves and sold in the slave market. She also mentions that ISIL is besieging the Sinjar Mountain, where 30,000 Yazidi families reside, while depriving them of food and water. She said - "They are dying. Seventy children have died so far of thirst and suffocation. Fifty elderly people have died because of deteriorating conditions. The Yazidis suffered 72 genocides and it is being rep...
Ivan Watson Monday journeys to Dohuk where Yazidis rescued from the Mount Sinjar siege have been taken by Kurdish forces.
SINJAR, IRAQ — A video posted on the Facebook wall of an anti-ISIS activist group reportedly shows ISIS militants stealing women from their families. The militants drag are dressed in all black, heavy in numbers and well-armed. After the merciless thugs shout cries of Allahu Akhbar, they begin separating the women from the clutches of their loved ones. Many of the women in the video appear to be young girls. In the grainy unverified footage released on December 17 by Yazidi activists, you can see the women being pulled by their clothing, arms, and even hair. Surrounded by guns and violent militants, they huddle together. The screams heard on the video are undeniably devastating to their families, who can only stand by and watch, helpless. ISIS controls territory in Sinjar, a town in n...
Tamils Aaseevaham way of life is connected to all civilizations around the globe. Mayan, Egyptian, South American, Chinese, Judaism, Buddism, Christianity, Islam are all connected to Aaseevaham. Your love shows many colours
Roses will show their thorns
You showed me signs of silence
Showed me my way back home
I break my back, bent over
I dance on broken glass
I hold my breath half to death
You can't forget the past
Unless you think it's not over
Let's kiss it goodbye
Is it really worth it?
Is it all just a lie?
Not like I'm giving up now, I am willing to try
Unless you think it's not over
Let's kiss it goodbye
My love shows it's horns
Could you lead us home?
Break your,
Break your back on broken glass
You can't forget the past
Unless you think it's not over
Let's kiss it goodbye
Is it really worth it?
Is it all just a lie?
Not like I'm giving up now, I am willing to try
Unless you think it's not over
Let's kiss it goodbye
My love shows many colours
Devils will show their horns
I lead you into darkness
Hoped it would lead us home
You break your back, bent over
You dance on broken glass
I know you'll always love me
You can't forget the past
Unless you think it's not over
Let's kiss it goodbye
Is it really worth it?
Is it all just a lie?
Not like I'm giving up now, I am willing to try
Unless you think it's not over
Let's kiss it good
