Mumbai mother-daughter duo graduate Class X at the same time
Jun 7, 2016, 03.28 PM ISTMumbai: Two members from a Mumbai family recently cleared the Class 10 exam. While that in itself isn't remarkable, what is, is the fact that the two happen to be mother and daughter.
Sarita Zagade and her daughter Shrutika both learned of their results on June 6. Sarita scored 44% while her daughter scored 69%.
Sarita is a mother of two who left school when she was very young because her family was having financial troubles.
Still, she wanted to complete her schooling. Three years ago, she took admission into night school. Her older daughter, Kshitija, who passed the Class 12 exam this year, gave home tuitions to her sister and her mother.
"Me, my mother and my younger sister, (all) three of us were under pressure this year, because all of us had appeared for Board examinations. We all studied hard this year to achieve our goals," said Kshitija.
Sarita's next goal: A Bachelor of Arts degree.
