Team Portfolios

Welcome to our Team Portfolios. In Team Portfolios you will find the privately held portfolios of some of our analysts and finance experts. When looking through the Team Portfolios, please remember that these are not 'model' portfolios. The reasons for one person investing in a specific equity or asset class will vary, and while Eureka Report's commentators do have holdings in various asset classes, including equities, their individual positions should not be interpreted as a recommendation to other investors to copy their example.

I’m very convinced that this long bear market in small cap stocks will offer opportunities. There will also be times when large cap stocks are oversold. My portfolio has changed in line with these convictions and I have a range of small caps. Virtually every one of these stocks have been mentioned first in Eureka Report.

Over the last few years my portfolio has changed substantially. The key change has been less big cap 'blue chip' stocks and more ETFs and small caps. Having said that the portfolio still has plenty of banks and insurers: They have never let me down and I have recently made the effort to directly buy into Bank of Ireland shares in Europe. I am enthusiastic about Eureka small cap 'picks' such as AMA and Vita Group. In the future I'll be adding further to my collection of little-known stocks that exist below the radar of institutional investors.

I’m a blue chips kind of guy both inside and outside of super. I am a fan of the stability of income, leadership, and that the companies don’t tend to crash as badly when markets plunge. I’ve rarely strayed away from the top 50 when choosing stocks directly. I’ve maintained my international holdings, but have been purchasing Australian shares during dips (and partially geared throughout with Australian shares, inside and outside super). I’ve also maintained diversification using index funds to those sectors I can’t keep a constant eye on for direct holdings (international shares particularly). I’ve also been buying direct residential property and have kept cash holdings in my SMSF very low due to returns.
