Mr World Thakur Anoop Singh is the new baddie in Puri Jagannadh's next
Elina Priyadarshini Nayak | TNN | Jun 6, 2016, 11.59 PM ISTPopular TV actor, Thakur Anoop Singh has been roped in to play the antagonist in Puri Jagannadh's upcoming Telugu-Kannada bilingual, Rogue. Apparently,
Sonu Sood
was offered the role initially, but he couldn't take it up because he was busy shooting for Jackie Chan-starrer Kung Fu Yoga. How the actor landed the role in Puri Jagannadh's film makes for an "amazing story".
"In 2014, I was in Hyderabad trying my luck in Tollywood. I had gone to see the shooting of Puri Sir's Temper, and was stunned when I saw him for the first time. Today, two years later, I'm working with the man I've always admired and that too, at the same location. That's destiny," says Anoop, who is playing a "psychotic lover" who is obsessed with the heroine, Manara Chopra .
Anoop, who shot into the limelight playing Dhritarashtra in the TV series, Mahabharat last year, made headlines after winning the Mr World title. Apparently, director Puri Jagannadh wanted him to retain his muscular frame. "While playing Dhritarashtra, I had a 34-inch waist and today I'm 27", although this transformation was actually for Mr World. When Puri Sir saw me, he asked me to retain the look," he says.
