Verbier
Verbier is a village located in south-western Switzerland in the canton of Valais. It is a holiday resort and ski area in the Swiss Alps and is recognized as one of the premiere "off-piste" resorts in the world. Some areas are covered with snow all year. Many top skiers have settled in the Verbier area in order to take advantage of the steep slopes, varied conditions and resort culture.
Geography
Verbier is located in the municipality of Bagnes, in the Swiss canton of Valais. The village lies on a south oriented terrace at around 1,500 metres facing the Grand Combin massif. The terrace lies on the east side of the Val de Bagnes, a valley located south of Martigny.
Verbier had 2767 permanent residents in 2006. The number of residents can rise to 35,000 in the winter season. There is a noticeable population of Scandinavian and British residents.
Education
The town has a public school system for its residents up until high school level, when locals must travel down into the valley for schooling. In September 2010 the Verbier campus of St George’s (now called Verbier International school), a private international school, was founded and opened its doors in the Chalet Mascotte at the entrance of the village.

Verbier is a an off piste heaven. So many of the open faces here can be accessed straight off the lifts and much of the surrounding terrain is secured by the piste patrol but not groomed meaning there is a safe option for those venturing off the beaten track.
The pistes here are fast and often steep and will please those skiers and snowboarders who like a challenging, exhilarating run.
The beginners area is perfect for those learning to make their first turns but on the whole is this is a ski area that will suit more experienced skiers and snowboarders.

Verbier Travel
Verbier Travel - Verbier is a resort town in the east central part of the Swiss canton of Valais. It has cable car access to a huge network of ski trails which are perfectly suited for intermediate and advanced skiers. There are also a couple of bunny slopes in town, as well as a huge amount of infrastructure for skiing and after skiing. In the summer Verbier, like many mountain villages, becomes a base for the true Swiss national sport of hiking (randonnée). Verbier village is small enough to get pretty much everywhere on foot, even in ski boots. A free bus runs around the village until early evening. There is a cable car service between Verbier and Le Chable which runs from 08:30 until 18:30, and a bus which runs later, so you will want to make note of the bus schedule if your hotel is...

Des marquises, des fées, des cow-boys, des plombiers
Des douzaines d'infirmières et 53 sapeurs pompiers
Des plus mal observés a ceux qui auraient pu mieux faire
On prépare la soirée dans une ambiance du tonnerre
Y'a toujours un malin pour se déguiser en mouche
En cuvette de WC ou en escargot qui louche
Ceux la 'faut qu'ils expliquent car c'est pas très évident
Aux amis étonnés l'idée de leur déguisement
Au cours de la soirée on tombe souvent nez a nez
Avec un faux Coluche qui essaye de vous faire marrer
Y'a toujours un public pour ce genre de rigolo
Qui s'étrangle de rire en s'empiffrant de p'tits gâteaux
Dans un p'tit canapé un groupe de gens pas déguisés
Prétend avec fierté qu'il n'aime pas ces festivités
N'empêche qu'ils sont partout faisant chaque fois acte de présence
C'est les mieux déguisés dans leur tenue de suffisance
On apporte le dessert 'faut éteindre toutes les lumières
Car en plus aujourd'hui on célèbre un anniversaire
En soufflant les bougies on fait voler le sucre glace
Qu'un genre d'Henry Guybet va recevoir en pleine face
Quand la fête est finie il reste toujours quelques amis
Pleins de bonne volonté pour vous aider a nettoyer
Il faut se dépêcher car demain on va au boulot
Samedi tout l'monde revient pour la super soirée diapos
