Reign

A reign is the period of a person's or dynasty's occupation of the office of monarch of a nation (e.g., Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Andorra), of a people (e.g., the Franks, the Zulus) or of a spiritual community (e.g., Roman Catholicism, Tibetan Buddhism, Nizari Ismailism). In most hereditary monarchies and some elective monarchies (e.g., Holy Roman Empire) there have been no limits on the duration of a sovereign's reign or incumbency, nor is there a term of office. Thus, a reign usually lasts until the monarch dies, unless the monarchy itself is abolished or the monarch abdicates or is deposed.

In elective monarchies, there may be a fixed period of time for the duration of the monarch's tenure in office (e.g., Malaysia).

The term of a reign can be indicated with the abbreviation "r." after a sovereign's name, such as the following:

Regnal periods

Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom reigned from 1837 to 1901.

King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy reigned from 1900 to 1946.

Pope John XXIII reigned from 1958 to 1963.

"America" is an American political advertisement released by the 2016 presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders. It premiered on January 21, 2016 via YouTube, and to air on television in Iowa and New Hampshire shortly before the Democratic Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary.

The advertisement features "America," a song recorded by Simon & Garfunkel for their album Bookends (1968).

The ad starts with scenes of everyday American life over soft humming and gentle guitar strumming. As the line, "let us be lovers, we'll marry our fortunes together" plays in the background, a middle-aged couple dances at a small Bernie Sanders for President rally. Then Sanders is seen speaking to a few people in a backyard. As the ad continues, the crowds grow larger and more enthusiastic. A montage of many Sanders supporters appear, as the words "They've all come to look for America" flash on the screen. Sanders is then seen addressing a large outdoor gathering, interacting one-on-one with supporters, appearing before more energetic crowds, finally ending in a large auditorium filled to capacity with cheering people.

Black

Black is the darkest color, the result of the absence of or complete absorption of light. It is the opposite of white (the combined spectrum of color or light). It is an achromatic color, literally a color without color or hue. It is one of the four primary colors in the CMYK color model, along with cyan, yellow, and magenta, used in color printing to produce all the other colors.

Black was one of the first colors used by artists in neolithic cave paintings. In the 14th century, it began to be worn by royalty, the clergy, judges and government officials in much of Europe. It became the color worn by English romantic poets, businessmen and statesmen in the 19th century, and a high fashion color in the 20th century.

In the Roman Empire, it became the color of mourning, and over the centuries it was frequently associated with death, evil, witches and magic. According to surveys in Europe and North America, it is the color most commonly associated with mourning, the end, secrets, magic, force, violence, evil, and elegance.

20th century

The 20th century was a century that began on January 1, 1901 and ended on December 31, 2000. It was the tenth and final century of the 2nd millennium. It is distinct from the century known as the 1900s (sometimes written as 19XX), which began on January 1, 1900 and ended on December 31, 1999.

Dubbed the "short twentieth century", this century in human history was dominated by chain of events that heralded significant changes in world history as to redefine the era: World War I and World War II, nationalism and decolonization, the Cold War and Post-Cold War conflicts, cultural homogenization through developments in transportation and communications technology, world population growth, awareness of environmental degradation, ecological extinction and the birth of the Digital Revolution. Casting began in October 2014 while principal photography commenced in April 2015 in Montreal, Canada, and ended in August of the same year. He rolls down the window and one of the boys says that they need a ride home in order for them to see a movie. Although, the conversation just seemed normal, for some reason Bryan felt an overwhelming feeling of horror. Bryan looked at the time and had realized that the last movie showing at that theater had been ended at least an hour ago. As bryan hesitated, the boy talking got more and more pushy, and reached for the lock on the door. Bryan finally realized that both of the children had pitch black eyes, with no iris and no pupils. Some claim these are the ghosts of children who lost their lives from trusting strangers. 4. The Bunny Man This urban legend takes place in Fairfax County, Virginia and in 1904 a mental asylum prison was shut down in order to move the prisoners somewhere else. When unexpectedly the transport vehicle crashes killing the driver and allowing 10 inmates to escape. The police spent hours searching and found all of the escapees, except 1. While searching for the last man, police would find the skinless carcasses of rabbits near what’s known as the Bunny Man Bridge. It was revealed that the man who managed to escape, had killed his entire family on easter sunday. Police had finally spotted the man and while in pursuit, it’s believed that he was hit by a train. Strange sighting of a man wielding an ax underneath the bridge was reported in the 1970’s. The urban legend has hit the locals so hard, that this still refer to this creepy place as the bunny man bridge. Many have continued to report sightings especially around halloween time. 3. Bloody Mary You might remember this urban legend when you had a sleepover with your friends during middle school. If you say her name 3 times and look into the mirror, the image of Mary’s ghost will appear in the mirror. But who on earth is Mary in the first place and why is she bloody? Mary Tudor was the sister of the Queen Elizabeth of England. She was the daughter of King Henry the 8th. During the time of her sister’s reign, Mary was a Catholic and ordered that protestants be put to death by cruel methods such as burning at the stake, this gave her the nickname of “Bloody Mary”. Mary became increasing frustrated due to the fact that she couldn’t bare a child, and this is most likely a reason for her madness. Others say it’s the ghost of a little girl named mary who was put to rest at a cemetery. her mother could hear her screams coming from her tomb. They were convinced that she was still alive and that they needed to open her casket. Slenderman is often found stalking his victims and portrayed as a faceless tall, man whose slender and wearing a suit. Sometimes his arms can be unnaturally long and tentacles that will reach out grab yo kids. He has the ability to teleport but can be seen in forests, abandoned locations or outside people’s, just watching people as they sleep. He seems to have a hypnotic effect over children and they tend to trust him quite easily. Those who have witnessed slenderman and were able to escape, are said to be completely traumatized and left mentally insane. 1.The Rake The rake is a mythical creature from urban legends and is the thing nightmares are made from. It’s said to be a half human and half dog-like creature. The rake makes its presence in the night, sometimes to attack, and sometimes just to strike fear into the hearts of unexpecting victims. Some believe that they truly looking at the devil himself and can no longer go through the torment of witnessing such a frightening monster. Those who witness it, say it’s found sitting on the corner of their beds and it looks them directly into their eyes, waiting for them to wake up. The description slightly varies, but most of the time it’s perceived as having morbidly pale skin, sharp flesh scraping claws with abnormally large hands, black eyes that can reflect light, and normally dripping with blood. I know that it is a shocking claim to many, that our trusted officials in concert with our reliable mass media actually participated in deliberate deception designed to get us to accept war, but deal with it. I'm making it. Our biggest moral obligation is ensuring that wars are not waged against people under false pretenses. War is the most disgusting and horrible thing you can inflict on any person. As you read this article I am sure you will find there are a number of things that will surprise you. After researching the situation for months I assure you I have investigated as many sides of the story as possible. But I did reach a clear conclusion and I will not shy away from openly expressing the views that I have formed during this process. What we have been seeing recently in the media, this time with a special emphasis on the online community, is the most sophisticated propaganda firework display we have ever witnessed. It’s no surprise so many people have been duped. But a lie can travel the world before the truth has tied it’s shoe laces. But I believe that once the laces have been tied and the truth starts walking, eventually it’s gonna get to people. There are at least two sides to every story None of us could possibly have avoided hearing NATO’s side of the story and the reasons and justifications given for Gaddafi’s removal and how military intervention is necessary to protect Libyan citizens. But are you sure you’ve heard both sides? Have you heard Gaddafi’s perspective on this issue? Or have you just heard “his side” as represented by the mainstream western media? If so I can start by telling you that his words, and the words of his son, Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi have been deliberately misinterpreted and edited out of context to create simple soundbite propaganda to influence people. You will find that there is a completely different side of this story that is being completely ignored. It is not even being debated for it's merits, it simply is not talked about at all in the mainstream media. Think about it. How much do you really know about Libya? Did you in all honesty know anything about the country before these events started unfolding? If I would have asked you back in February 10 questions about Libya and it’s affairs, how many do you think you would have answered correctly? And how much do you honestly know about what is going on there now? I often find it intriguing how people tend to think they are qualified to give their view on things that in reality they know next to nothing about. They might have vague ideas generated by the mainstream media, biased textbooks and general pre-conceived notions, but not an actual thorough understanding of the country and it’s people and customs. I had a discussion with a guy at a local bar the other day and I began the conversation by asking if he could tell me on what continent Libya was. Neither he nor his friend could answer correctly, picking Europe and Asia as their educated guesses. For some reason this guy still felt that his take on the situation was more accurate than mine, even as I told him I had been spending weeks investigating the matter. For those of you confused the correct answer is Africa. I want to ask a simple question to make a simple case? Can you name me one current Libyan government official? You’re not allowed to say Gaddafi. Who holds the position of “Secretary of the General People’s Assembly” a position comparable to that of prime minister, although with a slightly different emphasis as he does not represent a political party and does not alone hold significant power. Did you even know that such a position exists in Libya and that he is elected by the people? The less you know about something, the easier it is to deceive you. My intention for exposing your potential and likely ignorance on this subject is not an attempt to show that I’m smarter or better than you. As I found out myself researching this article I knew remarkably little about Libya. And that is my point. The mainstream media is focusing entirely on a set of news stories that have the specific intention of gathering support for military action and actively suppressing any story that would lead to people opposing it. This pattern will be exposed clearly as this article progresses. It’s no wonder we don’t know much about Libya. Of course it gets confusing with all the different stories we hear of dictators and tyrants oversees. It is difficult to be an expert on all nations in the world. I had a call this week from the daughter of a couple that lives near our church. Many of you would recognize her parents name. Seems her parents have been living together the last 20 years or so and never got married. Now they are thinking about making it legal and are looking into having a quaint church wedding. She said that because I was the priest they would want me to do the wedding. I corrected her of course, but I said that as Pastor I take marriage very seriously. For Your Information I have four prerequisites that must be met before I will bless the marriage of a man and woman. 1.The couple must believe that marriage is a Covenant Vow before God 2.They must not be living together 3.They must go through premarital counseling before I agree to marry them. 4.They must have the blessings of both sets of parents. I invited her to have them call me and we could meet and discuss it more fully. Some of you are thinking, Brother Jim, that seems pretty harsh. After all, they have been living together and need to make it official. Plus they are our neighbors, and this is a chance to reach out to them. I understand your thoughts, but consider this: Do we ever have an excuse to take God for granted? NO! God is Holy, He is Righteous. He has standards and He reigns in Heaven whether we acknowledge Him or not. One day everyone will have an appointment with the God who created them and will answer for why they took Him for granted. If we can't ever take God for granted, then we can't take Jesus for granted. And if we can't take Jesus for granted, we can't take His wife for granted. And the church is His wife. Now when it comes to the church, the bride of Christ, we see a Universal application, but we also see a local application. I believe Pleasant Prairie Baptist can be a great church. I believe we are sitting in a mission field. And we need to start taking our church more seriously. We can not take it for granted, just as we wouldn't dare think of taking God for granted. I believe the community around Pleasant Prairie takes us for granted. They see us as a qaint little country church instead of seeing us as the powerful Bride of Jesus Christ. I think that is because we have failed to be a church, we have failed to be a bride, we have taken the Word of God for granted. I see a couple problems with America. 1.We are extremely self-loving. 2.We dishonor the Word of God. Because we love ourselves we tend to do what we want when we want it. Because we dishonor God's Word, we dishonor God, we dishonor the church, we dishonor preachers, we dishonor pastors. When you dishonor God's Word, you start to dishonor everything about God and what God says is important. We dishonor marriage, we dishonor the family, we dishonor our relationships with each other. So for the next two weeks I want us to see from God's Word Why Pleasant Prairie Baptist Church was put here on the corner of 215th & Y, and then I want to see from God's Word what we should be doing so that we do not take God's Word for granted. To do so we need to answer 2 Questions: What Makes a Church? What is Membership All About? First, let's look at Black's Law Dictionary and see what our Courts say a church is.
