New Delhi: New Delhi is the most polluted big city in the world. The World Health Oraganisation data showed that people living in India's capital city is inhaling world's most toxic air. It's condition is even worse than Beijing.

CPCB contests WHO findings but says Delhi pollution a concern

IITM scientists in collaboration with National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) have raised the concern over the need to improve air quality in the capital and urgently map its sources of pollution and their contribution to making Delhi an unhealthy city.

On the basis of data compiled in the 2011 Census, the study ranked Uttar Pradesh on the first position in terms of premature-deaths followed by West Bengal and Maharashtra.
