New Jersey is a state in the Northeastern and Middle Atlantic regions of the United States. It is bordered on the north and east by New York, on the southeast and south by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Pennsylvania, and on the southwest by Delaware. New Jersey is the fourth-smallest state, but the 11th-most populous and the most densely populated of the 50 United States. New Jersey lies entirely within the combined statistical areas of New York City and Philadelphia and is the second-wealthiest U.S. state by median household income as of 2014.
New Jersey was inhabited by Native Americans for more than 2,800 years, with historical tribes such as the Lenape along the coast. In the early 17th century, the Dutch and the Swedes made the first European settlements. The English later seized control of the region, naming it the Province of New Jersey after the largest of the Channel Islands, Jersey, and granting it as a colony to Sir George Carteret and John Berkeley, 1st Baron Berkeley of Stratton. New Jersey was the site of several decisive battles during the American Revolutionary War in the 18th century.
Route 47 is a state highway in the southern part of New Jersey, United States. It runs 75.20 mi (121.02 km) from Atlantic Avenue in Wildwood, Cape May County north to U.S. Route 130 in Brooklawn, Camden County. It is also referred to as Delsea Drive, as it connects the Delaware River near Brooklawn to the Atlantic Ocean (the sea) in Wildwood. This name was assigned by the New Jersey Legislature in 1933. The route runs through rural areas of Cape May and southern Cumberland counties as a two-lane road. Traffic jams along this portion of Route 47 are commonplace in the summer vacation season and can stretch for miles due to the missing southern section of Route 55, where all Jersey Shore-bound traffic enters the small two-lane road. North of here, the route runs through the cities of Millville and Vineland before entering Gloucester County, where it passes through more rural areas as well as Clayton and Glassboro. Past Glassboro, it heads through suburban areas in Washington and Deptford townships before running through Westville and Brooklawn. Route 47 is the longest state route in New Jersey.

Last week, Russell was in attendance at the Delsea Drive-in, the last drive-in movie theater in New Jersey. He met up with C.C. and Rana from the DRIVE-IN Film Festival, a group dedicated to getting the word out about drive-in theaters across the country, and he also got a tour of the grounds from owner, John "Doc" DeLeonardis, MD. The Delsea drive-in theatre, in Vineland, NJ, opened in 1949, & closed in 1987. It was last managed by Crazy Bob Madara, & Joe Pepitone, who is now a Cumberland county freeholder, & Crazy Bob's next door neighbor. They worked for AMC theatres in 1987. Bob was also a rural letter carrier, & Joe was teaching at a local school. The drive-in sat idle & deteriorating for 17 years. In the spring of 2004, Bob, who was now retired from the US Postal Service & doing a daily radio show for WVLT Vineland, got a call from the new owner of the Delsea, DR. John Deleonardis. The DR. wanted to make the drive-in smaller, & put in a indoor skateboard park, & resteaurant in the back section. Bob took a leave of absence from WVLT, & help the DR. get the drive-in open by July, 2004. On labor day weekend,...
On Friday, the squad "reconciled" with an old tradition that we were all born too late to appreciate. Growing up with home DVDS, Netflix and even the traditional movie theater next to the neighborhood shopping complex, the Drive-In theater in Delsea delivered a novel perspective on enjoying film. Revamping clichés are a pivotal key in maintaining relationships with your loved ones. As I cannot speak for my friends, I am one to loathe public movies. Traditional movie theaters are boring to me. But here at the Drive-In, we cut a piece of a cliché and we create something new out of it. We have an outdoor experience. The trunk of the car was embellished with blankets. The sunset trickled in slowly and then all at once. The car radio equated to the modern surround sound. The fresh air of summe...
The Delsea Drive-in in Vineland is New Jersey's only drive-in. Built in 1949, it closed down in 1987 but was re-opened in 2004 with the goal of providing New Jerseyans today's movies at yesterday's prices. (Video by Adya Beasley / The Star-Ledger)

When in New Jersey, we always visit New York. This time the boys watched the Broadway play Shrek while Emma and Rae watched the Broadway play Little Mermaid. After that we went to the M&M; store, stolled around Time Square, and ate at McD's while Rae did some sidewalk vendor shopping. We had a great time! NY was particularly very busy at this time with plenty of tourists like us because it was just the 4th of July holiday yesterday. As you can see parang piyesta kahit saan ka pumunta.

Re-Membering Our Prodigals Rev. Mike Lamson May 6, 2012 Thank you. Wow, what a warm welcome. It’s an amazing feeling to be up here and see this. When I was asked to give the sermon by our senior pastor, I realized as I thought about it that this will be the fifth sermon I’ve ever given in my life. Can you imagine? I’ve always been the kind of person who looks for the talents that people have, and I want to support other people in bringing out those talents. So it was quite a shock for me when I realized I’m going to be the one up at this podium this time. Good morning and welcome to Lovin’Life Ministries at the beautiful Manhattan Center in New York City. I must say that things look a lot different from up here. I think all of you should try this sometime. I want to thank everyone from...

On October 17, 2016, the Institute for Public Knowledge hosted a book launch for Rebecca Solnit and Joshua Jelly-Schapiro's Nonstop Metropolis: A New York City Atlas. The editors were in conversation with several contributors, including IPK Visiting Scholar Garnette Cadogan. Nonstop Metropolis, the culminating volume in a trilogy of atlases, conveys innumerable unbound experiences of New York City through twenty-six imaginative maps and informative essays. Bringing together the insights of dozens of experts—from linguists to music historians, ethnographers, urbanists, and environmental journalists—amplified by cartographers, artists, and photographers, it explores all five boroughs of New York City and parts of nearby New Jersey. We are invited to travel through Manhattan’s playgrounds, f...
"I want to see the world. Follow a map to its edges, and keep going. Forgo the plans. Trust my instincts. Let curiosity be my guide. I want to change hemispheres. Sleep with unfamiliar stars. And let the journey unfold before me." - The Maptia Manifesto To kind of celebrate the past year and a half, I'd like to top off 2014 with a look back at the highlights. It's been a good ride so far.
