New York - New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association President Thomas Mungeer was honored Tuesday in Brooklyn, New York at a Sukkah Holiday celebration organized by prominent community leaders at the Sukkah of Mr. Abe Friedman, a community leader and Police Chaplain.
"Today we gather to present a token of appreciation to President Mungeer for his devotion and sensitivity in dealing with the Jewish community throughout the entire year. Throughout the summer season in particular, the New York State Police, under the stewardship of Superintendent John Melville and Troopers PBA President Mungeer, have shown a sustained and commendable dedication to maintaining the well-being and overseeing the protection of travelers of all faiths. Their gallant efforts are immensely appreciated by each and every member of the community they serve so nobly," said Friedman.
Participants, joined by numerous elected officials, including NY State Senator and Majority Conference Leader John Sampson, State Senator Eric Adams, State Senator Daniel Squadron, Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries, NYC Comptroller John Liu. NYC Public advocate Bil DeBlasio. Assemblyman Joseph Lenthol. unanimously hailed President Mungeer and the members of the State Police for their role in monitoring safety and security at the Sloatsburg Rest Area on the New York State Thruway, a stop heavily trafficked, especially during the summer season, by the State's sizeable Orthodox Jewish community. Also attending were Sullivan county sheriff and undersheriff.
Further, deep gratitude was expressed to Acting Superintendent John Melville and to Troop T Commander Major Robert C. Meyers for their remarkable contributions to enhancing the safety and comfort of religious travelers.
Community leaders from all over NY participated in the holiday celebration, by honoring the NY state police and other elected officials.
Thomas Mungeer, President of the NYS Troopers PBA since 2009, hailed originally from Upstate NY. During his tenure, he has earned the admiration and respect of his fellow Troopers.

SPRINGFIELD | Obama's home state has become the first in the nation to receive clearance from the FAA to add drones, to the growing arsenal of military equipment their state troopers enjoy.
And true to Orwellian Doublespeak the authorities are opting not to call them drones but Unmanned Aircraft in order to not raise the ire of the public.
Currently the FAA has approved drones for 2 years for traffic investigations but Citizens are concerned that this is the first step in the incremental application of the new technology eventually being deployed against the citizenry for routine traffic enforcement and surveillance of innocent people.
Rasmussen reports only 20% of voters consider the federal government a protector of individual liberty. While Sixty percent (60%) of the public believe the US government is a threat to individual liberty. Only 19% trust the federal government to do the right thing.
Military Drones deployed in undeclared wars overseas currently have been the subject of much controversy. American citizens have been the target, then executed without without due process. The Constitution going up in smoke along with their lives.
In a previous report we highlighted the ongoing cross training of Richland County SWAT with the 3rd Special Forces Group out of Fort Bragg.
And the build-up continues.
In this recruiting video, produced for the Illinois State Police Merit Board by Hanson Webteam, they're openly displaying snipers in full bush camouflage and wearing military style uniforms conducting high impact raids.
Ironically the recruiting video chronicles their own progression to a militarized force. It opens with nostalgic video of the days when the state police was a simple agency.
As the military industrial complex continues to milk the American taxpayers surplus war hardware is returning home for deployment on the streets of America.
Drones deployed for traffic investigations in the Land of Lincoln is only the first step.
For some reason I think Honest Abe would approve.

State police
State police or provincial police are a type of sub-national territorial police force, found particularly in North America, South Asia, and Oceania. Some other countries have analogous police forces, such as the provincial police in some Canadian provinces. Particularly in the United States, the primary goals of most state police agencies are the safety of motorists on interstate highways, and the enforcement of traffic laws on those interstate highways, but can also involve statewide law enforcement and criminal investigation.

Each state of Australia has its own state police force. Municipalities do not have police forces and it is left to the state forces to police all geographic areas within their respective states. Australia does have a national police force, the Australian Federal Police, whose role is to enforce the laws of the Commonwealth, both criminal law and civil law, as well as to protect the interests of the Commonwealth, both domestically and internationally. SPRINGFIELD | Obama's home state has become the first in the nation to receive clearance from the FAA to add drones, to the growing arsenal of military equipment their state troopers enjoy. And true to Orwellian Doublespeak the authorities are opting not to call them drones but Unmanned Aircraft in order to not raise the ire of the public. Currently the FAA has approved drones for 2 years for traffic investigations but Citizens are concerned that this is the first step in the incremental application of the new technology eventually being deployed against the citizenry for routine traffic enforcement and surveillance of innocent people. Rasmussen reports only 20% of voters consider the federal government a protector of individual liberty. While Sixty percent (60%) of the public believe the US government is a threat to individual liberty. Only 19% trust the federal government to do the right thing. Military Drones deployed in undeclared wars overseas currently have been the subject of much controversy. American citizens have been the target, then executed without without due process. The Constitution going up in smoke along with their lives. In a previous report we highlighted the ongoing cross training of Richland County SWAT with the 3rd Special Forces Group out of Fort Bragg. And the build-up continues. In this recruiting video, produced for the Illinois State Police Merit Board by Hanson Webteam, they're openly displaying snipers in full bush camouflage and wearing military style uniforms conducting high impact raids. Ironically the recruiting video chronicles their own progression to a militarized force. It opens with nostalgic video of the days when the state police was a simple agency. As the military industrial complex continues to milk the American taxpayers surplus war hardware is returning home for deployment on the streets of America. SPRINGFIELD | Obama's home state has become the first in the nation to receive clearance from the FAA to add drones, to the growing arsenal of military equipment their state troopers enjoy.
And true to Orwellian Doublespeak the authorities are opting not to call them drones but Unmanned Aircraft in order to not raise the ire of the public.
Currently the FAA has approved drones for 2 years for traffic investigations but Citizens are concerned that this is the first step in the incremental application of the new technology eventually being deployed against the citizenry for routine traffic enforcement and surveillance of innocent people.
Rasmussen reports only 20% of voters consider the federal government a protector of individual liberty. While Sixty percent (60%) of the public believe the US government is a threat to individual liberty. Only 19% trust the federal government to do the right thing.
Military Drones deployed in undeclared wars overseas currently have been the subject of much controversy. American citizens have been the target, then executed without without due process. The Constitution going up in smoke along with their lives.
In a previous report we highlighted the ongoing cross training of Richland County SWAT with the 3rd Special Forces Group out of Fort Bragg.
And the build-up continues.
In this recruiting video, produced for the Illinois State Police Merit Board by Hanson Webteam, they're openly displaying snipers in full bush camouflage and wearing military style uniforms conducting high impact raids.
Ironically the recruiting video chronicles their own progression to a militarized force. It opens with nostalgic video of the days when the state police was a simple agency.
As the military industrial complex continues to milk the American taxpayers surplus war hardware is returning home for deployment on the streets of America.
Drones deployed for traffic investigations in the Land of Lincoln is only the first step.
For some reason I think Honest Abe would approve.
