I was driving around randomly, looking for anything that looked interesting, so don't be surprised if you see the same places two or three times. Eventually I left Redding, and headed west on California Route 299 for the very long, rainy drive to the Pacific Coast. This video gets as far as Weaverville.

Please meet Calvin and Kerry, disabled folks living in a homeless camp in Redding California.
With several arrests confirmed by Bob Brannon, Community Work Program Officer at Redding Police Department , a large homeless camp was raided today on Riverside Drive with eviction notices distributed.
Oh this is not the first time ive heard of the Redding California Police Department threatening ill will against or to conviscate the beloved pets of the homeless sleeping in camps outdoors as a method to get them to leave.. The criminalization of the growing numbers of homeless is morally repugnant, Terrorism of the homeless under the color of authority is an outright abomination.

Alta California became a part of Mexico in 1821 following its successful war for independence, but was ceded to the United States in 1848 after the Mexican–American War. The western portion of Alta California was organized as the State of California, which was admitted as the 31st state on September 9, 1850. The California Gold Rush starting in 1848 led to dramatic social and demographic change, with large-scale immigration from the east and abroad with an accompanying economic boom.

Redding, California
Redding, officially the City of Redding, is the county seat of Shasta County, California in the northern part of the state. It is located on the Sacramento River, which provided transportation and power in its early years. Interstate 5 passes close to the city, which has a population of 89,861. Redding is the largest city in the Shasta Cascade region, and it is the fourth-largest city in the Sacramento Valley, behind Sacramento, Elk Grove, and Roseville.
History
The site of Redding was settled by Native Americans of the Wintu tribe around the year 1000. Situated along the Siskiyou Trail, Redding became a stop on a trade and travel route connecting California's Central Valley and the Pacific Northwest. During the early 19th century, Hudson's Bay Company trappers and numerous European-American settlers passed through the site while traveling along the Siskiyou Trail.
The first European-American settler in the area was Pierson B. Reading, an early California pioneer. He was an admirer of John Sutter. In 1844, Reading received the Rancho Buena Ventura Mexican land grant for the area occupied by today's Redding and Cottonwood, California, along the Sacramento River. At the time it was the northernmost nonnative settlement in California.

With several arrests confirmed by Bob Brannon, Community Work Program Officer at Redding Police Department , a large homeless camp was raided today on Riverside Drive with eviction notices distributed.
Oh this is not the first time ive heard of the Redding California Police Department threatening ill will against or to conviscate the beloved pets of the homeless sleeping in camps outdoors as a method to get them to leave.. The criminalization of the growing numbers of homeless is morally repugnant, Terrorism of the homeless under the color of authority is an outright abomination.

The Mormons who came to this region during their search for the ‘Promised Land’ gave the Joshua Tree its name as it reminded them of the holy prophet of the same name. Las Vegas appears like a mirage in the desert, awake night and day, THE entertainment capital of the world! Guarded by a sphinx that stretches its paws out toward the Strip, a pyramid looms above the desert paradise, the Luxor Hotel, one of many theme hotels in this incredible city. The MGM lion guards one of the largest hotels in the world with over five thousand rooms, whereas the Bellagio is a return to the exclusive nature of the casino hotels of the past: here, luxury is at its zenith - an investment of 1,8 billion dollars speaks for itself! Only two and a half hours by car to the west of Las Vegas is the USA’s most recent national park that extends to the opposite side of California’s border, Death Valley! It was through here that thousands of pioneers took a short cut while journeying west, many of them perishing in the attempt. Hi guys, I'm Veronica Hill with California Travel Tips. If you're a subscriber to this channel, you're either planning a trip to California, or you're a resident looking for new places to check out. Today I'm going to share some of my Top 10 travel tips for visiting California like a local.
Tip No. 1: Book California State Park campgrounds exactly 7 months before you want to visit on http://www.ReserveAmerica.com. If you're hoping to score a busy holiday like the Fourth of July, reserve a few dates in the end of June, then add a few days to your visit. Securing a campground in Yosemite is also tricky. You'll need to log into http://www.Recreation.gov a few minutes before 7 a.m. on the 15th of the month — five months in advance of your visit. Popular campgrounds in the valley sell out in seconds! For example, if you want to book a stay between June 15 and July 14, you need to book on February 15.
Tip No. 2: If you're going to Disneyland, take advantage of the FastPass service. Just insert your park ticket into the kiosk for a designated FastPass ride and you'll receive a ticket allowing you to return later and cut the line. I've found it's handy to have one person gather all of your tickets to get the Fast Pass while you wait in line for another attraction. If you have kids too small to ride an attraction, the Baby Switch Pass is another good bet. Just ask a cast member for the pass at the entrance. Make sure you ride the most popular attractions right when the park opens. Knott's has a similar service called FastLane, but you have to pay for it.
Tip No. 3: Avoid traveling in the summer if you can. Most of the amusement parks are packed to capacity, with long lines and hot waits in the sun. The fall and winter sees much fewer crowds, and the hotels are cheaper too.
Tip No. 4: Get on the Groupon list for each city you are visiting. You'll be able to get discounts on some really cool attractions and restaurants you may not have considered before. If you want great hotel rates, check out sites like Priceline or Hotel Tonight for last-minute lodging.
Tip No. 5: If you plan on visiting several theme parks or attractions, look into the Go Card or City Pass. They offer discounts on many of the most popular sights in LA, San Diego and San Francisco. If you're a Costco member, many warehouses sell discount tickets to theme parks, restaurants and sporting events.
Tip. No. 6: If there's an expensive restaurant you want to try, go during happy hour. Often you'll get to sample their best dishes and drinks at half the price.
Tip No. 7: Families should plan their San Diego vacations in October, when the city hosts its Kids Free month. Many of the area's most popular attractions, including San Diego Zoo, the Wild Animal Park and Balboa Park are free for kids 12 and under.
Tip No. 8: If your favorite hotel or campground is booked, try again seven days in advance. This is when many people cancel their reservations to avoid penalties.
Tip No. 9: If you're heading to more than one of the seven California national parks, consider getting the annual pass for $80. Admission is free for all the parks in April during National Parks Week, and in November during Veterans Day weekend.
Tip No. 10: For the best fares, book your trip midweek for flights departing and arriving on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. The cheapest rates can often be found online between 10 p.m. Wednesdays and 6 a.m. Thursdays around the 7th of each month. Additionally, the cheapest fares are found 7, 14 and 21 days before you leave.

The Yosemite Valley ring road follows the banks of the Merced River, which shifts in character as it thunders from the valley walls, before gently winding across the valley floor. The ring road is dotted with trailheads that lead to 800 miles of hiking trails. The Four Mile Trail climbs the valley’s southern wall to two of Yosemite’s great outlooks, Glacier Point and Washburn Point. Further along the ring road is the trailhead for The Mist Trail, which offers stunning views of Vernal and Nevada Falls.
For thousands of years, the Ahwaneechee had villages throughout this valley, but it was at the base of Yosemite Falls where their great chief resided. Take the one-hour hike to the lower falls, or spend the day climbing all the way to the upper falls.
To the north of Yosemite Valley, is Tioga Road, one of the USA’s most scenic highways. Fill your lungs with alpine air at Olmsted Point, refresh yourself by the waters of Tenaya Lake, then spend the day at Tuolumne Meadow, the traditional summer hunting grounds of the Ahwaneechee.
From its high country to its waterfalls, its towering sequoia groves to its valley meadows, Yosemite is an American story unlike any other.

Things you need to know before you travel to Los Angeles California. LA is HUGE. You won't be able to see all of LA, unless you're staying for a very very long time. Los Angeles doesn't have a "center" and Downtown LA is not very exciting. LA is comprised of multiple cities Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Malibu. Get a rental car - You'll need it to see most tourist attractions in Los Angeles.
2. Traffic
- LA has traffic everywhere, all the time. All day, every day. Yes, even at 1am on a weekend. Deal with it.
- The freeways have names -- it's not I-405 -- it's "THE 405"
3. Public Transit
- LA has a subway!
- But it probably doesn't go where you want! Especially the beach!
4. Parking
- Is often Valet
- and Costs money everywhere
- Except when you're parking on the freeway :)
- Pay attention to street signs (confusing times and days)
5. Navigation
- Know where you're going and take the correct exit
- Take the wrong exit and you might end up in some place really sketchy
- Lots of little cities, the street numbering changes in different cities
6. Weather
- LA is not always sunny and warm
- It gets cold -- particularly at night
- Shorts in the day, but pants and a jacket at night
- And the ocean water is cold too... 70 degrees is as warm as it gets
- Inland can be 30 degrees warmer than the beach
- Lots of sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- It's dry -- moisturizer
7. LA is unlike the rest of California
- It can feel like a different country, or at least a different state
- Venice Beach in particular
8. Hollywood is in the neighborhood called "Hollywood"
- West Hollywood is in front of the Hollywood sign (and a different city) with Fancy homes
- East Hollywood doesn't have much
- North Hollywood over the mountain is a suburb of LA
- Oh by the way -- no actors in Hollywood
- And if you go see a 30 minute sitcom taping it will take 4+ hours
9. The Valley
- Means San Fernando Valley
- Burbank, Studio City, North Hollywood, Van Nuys
10. LA's most well known attractions are also some of the most rundown
- Hollywood Boulevard or is Tijuana?
- Venice Beach, oh my lord
11. LA is casual
- Flip flops and shorts are OK except in the most dressy establishments
12. Bring your own shopping bag
- Supermarkets charge 10 cents for shopping bags in California

Redding, California's Police Chief Paoletti Townhall 3 31 2016
Police Chief Robert Paoletti held a quarterly town hall meeting on Thursday, March 31st, 2016 beginning at 6p.m. in McLaughlin Auditorium at Sequoia School. Chief Paoletti presented a review of crime statistics for 2015, provided an update regarding the Redding Police Department and was available for questions from the audience. Sacramento CA to Redding CA going 70 mile an hour.
Road trip on highway 80 and highway 5. This is a video from my old channel, AccordingtoAdam1826, that was closed due to uncertain circumstances. We are back on the new channel, Adam hall000, and posting all of the old videos. These videos are property of Adam Hall. We are filming the drive from Sacramento to Redding California. Started out on the Elkhorn, Greenback highway 80 exit and ending on highway 5 going through a little part of Redding. At the end it started raining. We had this up in high speed times 4 but they (whomever they are) kept flagging it and saying the work was not ours, so sadly we had to remove that video. Usually this trip will take 2 and a half hours but we lost about 15 minutes of it due to battery technicality.
