Victorvilles Homeless evicted from the Mojave River

Today I rode out to the riverbed near Victorville California with Henry to look for some gold. On the way to the old mines out in the vicinity we detoured through a modern Hooverville that has been in the news locally of late. The city had decided that the "problem"(symptom) was growing and something had to be done to curb it. So they filed evictions on people who were "publicly camping"($500 fine) and told everyone they had until April to move. They also downplay the scope of the situation and have basically, in humane sounding words told the homeless we don't care where you go but you can't stay here. So they've been dispersing throughout the community and I've seen individual camps springing up in fields all over. The city made loitering an offense the property owners would be held liable for when tent cities started springing up in shopping centers and near liquor stores. No one can think of a fix except for making it illegal to be homeless, because it is purely a life choice. The fault for the lack of success in the 'traditional' life is solely on the individuals poor choices and not a result of the crumbling and corrupt, usurping den of vipers and thieves that are 'too big to fail'.
